Terry looked at Lisa’s sleeping face and took her hand in his.

He had found her! She no longer existed only in his memory. She had actually appeared in front of him again!

“You promised today. I won’t allow you to go back on your word.” Terry’s whisper rang in the quiet mom, the sound of rhythmic breathing the only response to him.

Serenity returned to Valor Residenc after the interview. The interview was actully quite simple for her. The interview only looked at her health report and asked her some basic questions.

Even though she was prepared for this, she was still nervous when the interviewer then asked why a law graduate like her wanted to be a delivery driver. She tried her best to explain in simple words and shared how her Lawyer license had gotten revoked because she had been in jail for a traffic accident

The interviewer had not asked any further questions after that. He told her to go back and wait for the notke. At that instance, Serenity knew that she might have failed the interview. However, the question was an unavoidable one.

More than a dozen companies were recruiting delivery riders in Solaria. Serenity had submitted her resume to each of them. She did not know if any company would accept her, but she felt tired

She felt like. It was exhausting to live.

Perhaps the series of events that had happened after her release from prison had left her physically and mentally exhausted.

While having dinner that night, Jackson suddenly asked about her interview. “Sis, did you apply for a delivery rider job today?”

Startled, Serenity almost dropped the fork in her hand.

“What’s wrong? Are you so surprised?” Jackson smiled. “I got a call from the company’s CEO today. He said you applied for a job with them, so he wanted to ask my opinion”

Serenity fell silent. She remembered the interviewer earlier. The interviewer had not specifically asked about the victim who had been killed in lee car accident. She thought if she did not tell him, he might not have known.

Who knew… The interviewer would have gone to check on Serenity’s records. Then, the company’s CEO had contacted Jackson directly. This realization came to her like a merciless slap from reality.

“Tell me. He is aslong for my opinion. How should I answer him?” Jackson asked.

Serenity pursed her lips and understood the situation with clarity of mind. Under normal circumstances, would a CEO call Jackson for a potential recruit? The CEO would just refuse to hire her.

Yet, this CEO had deliberately made this phone call to claim credit. He probably thought Jackson hated her for accidentally killing Mira Hall in the car accident befare. Therefore, he had taken the Initiative to disclose her job application so as to get in touch with the Valor family and please Jackson.

However, the CEO’s action made Serenity feel sick

“should I talk to them and let them hire you, sas?” Jackson added:

“No need “Serenity hastily said.

Jackson cocked an eyebrow. “You don’t seen to like the company very much. Well, I don’t like the company either. In that case, let’s delist the company.”
