Obsessive CEO’s Sinful Wife by Lil’ Bamboo
Chapter 370
âI have some halfâbrothers and halfâsisters,â Terry replied. âMy father had a lot of mistresses, so he naturally had many children as wellâ
Lisaâs parents did not expect this kind of answer at all. They turned awloward and had no idea how to continue the
conversation
Seeing this, Lisa did not quite know why, but she quickly responded, âMom, Dad, what his parents did has nothing to do with him! Heâs his own person! Heâs not his parents!â
Terry turned to Lisa in shock, but there was a tinge of warmth in his eyes that even he did not notice.
Luckily, Lisaâs father came back to his senses and echoed her, âThatâs right! Heâs not his parents. So⦠Terry, what kind of work do you do now?â
âIâm mainly responsible for the management of a corporate group.
âManagementâ¦of a corporate group?â
Lisaâs father looked like he doubted what he had just heard. He continued, âWhat kind of company do you manage? Youâre only 29 years old, arenât you?
In Mr. Questâs mind, a 29âyearâold would have to be exceedingly talented to rise up to the rank of middle management at that age, so to hear that Terry managed a whole corporate group. It was simply too incredible and hard to believe!
âItâs called the White Maple Group,â said Terry. âIâm not sure if youâve heard of it.â
Mr. Quest was just an ordinary man, so he had never been familiar with any famous shipping companies. But as for all the cars parked in the neighborhood, you could count on him to tell the brand of the car as soon as he saw the car logo,
He smiled sheepishly and said, âNo⦠Iâve never heard of it before. Is it a new company?
After all, young people liked to start their own businesses these days, so it would not be so strange that Terry was working in a new startâup.
It was then Lisaâs turn to be even more embarrassed than her father.
Still, Terry merely smiled and said nothing
They went on to chat for a little longer, and Lisa was just about to find an excuse to take Terry away, but her parents then insisted on haring Terry join them for dinner.
âDidnât you say youâve got an urgent business to attend to at work? Lisa asked, desperately winking at Terry to give him a
hint.
âItâs not so urgent that I donât have time for dinner,â he replied.
Lisa was speechless.
Did that mean he wanted to have dinner with them?
After what seemed to be a painfully long time, the dinner was finally over. Seeing that her parents were trying to start another conversation with Terry to know more about him, Lisa quickly interjected, âIâm going to talor a walk with Terry now. It helps. with digestion, you know.â
She then swiftly took his arm and led him out of the house.
Once they got to the elevator, Lisa finally sighed in relief, knowing that her task of taking her boyfriend home to meet her parents was finally over.

âIf I hadnât dragged you out just now,â she said, âany parents wouldâve asked you about your whole family tree! You know, you didnât need to answer all of their questions with so much detail. A simple answer wouldâve been enough.â
âI thought youâd hoped your parents wouldnât like me,â he said out of the blue. âThen why did you have to tell them that Iâm
2/2
not like my parents?â
Lisa was taken aback and fell silent for a while. In fact, what she had sald back then felt like an instinctive reaction to her and nothing more.
âSoâ¦does that mean that you actually donât want your parents to dislike me?â
She had no idea why, but the look he gave her made her feel flustered right now.
âI was just thinking,â she explained, âthat what your parents did has nothing to do with you at all. Youâre your own person, thatâs all I meant to say. I didnât have any other intentions as you suspected.â
She then turned away, trying to avoid his gaze.
