Obsessive CEO’s Sinful Wife by Lil’ Bamboo
Chapter 41
He paused as his eyes swept across the two dumbfounded people, âIf they leave before that, theyâre not allowed to step foot in this residence ever again.â
The father and daughter flinched.
Jacksonâs words undoubtedly meant that, if they left without finding the ring, the Valor family would sever all ties with them.
After Jackson left, Quinton and Jenny looked at each other.
The pond was not that deep, but its bottom was filled with mud. It was not that big either, but it was still about 100 square feet in size. Finding a small ring in that pond was not an easy task.
Jenny felt like crying. âDaddy, what should we do? Do I really have to go down there to find the ring? Itâs so cold out there! How can I find the ring by myself?!â
âYou made this mess, so you must clean it up. You know what will happen to the Hall family if the Valor family sever ties with us!â Quinton said with a serious expression.
The future of the Hall family was at stake. He could not indulge his daughter anymore.
Jenny fell silent. Of course she knew that the Hall family relied on the Valor Group in several major business deals. If Jackson Valor cut ties with them, it would be an absolutely devastating blow to the Hall family.
Jenny had no choice but to step into the pond to look for the tiny ring.
It never crossed her mind that this was Jacksonâs revenge for Serenity. Jackson was paying her back for what she did to Serenity!
When Jackson returned to the rental house, Serenity was doing laundry.
Her hands were submerged in cold water. They had turned red from the cold..
âWhy didnât you use hot water?â he asked with a frown.
âHeating the water uses a lot of electricity. After being in cold water for a while, my hands will warm up, so itâs fine,â said Serenity. She rinsed the clothes one more time and twisted them to squeeze the water out.
He grabbed her hands. They were ice cold.
âNext time you do laundry, use hot water. Donât mind the electric bill. Iâll earn the money to pay for it,â he said.
Serenity laughed. She gently flicked his forehead and said, âWe should save money whenever we can. We already have to spend money on a lot of things. How did the dinner with your coâworkers go?â
âIt was all right,â replied Jackson. Having dinner with his coâworkers was the excuse he used. Unless heâs mistaken, Jenny Hall should be looking for the ring in the pond right now.
He wondered how long it would take for Jenny to find it.
âLooks like itâs grown even longer,â Serenityâs murmur snapped Jackson back to his senses. She was inspecting his fringe.
âJack, why donât I trim your fringe for you? Itâs a little too long. It must be affecting your vision,â she said.
He stared at her. There seemed to be a light flowing in his eyes. After a few moments, he slowly said, âSure.â Serenity only had simple tools â a comb, a pair of scissors, and a piece of cloth that she wrapped around Jacksonâs neck.
