Obsessive CEO’s Sinful Wife by Lil’ Bamboo
Chapter 480
âGood, good. Youâve always been such a filial granddaughter, Serenity,â Granny said with a smile.
Filial? A touch of gloom appeared on Serenityâs face. If she really was filial, she would have taken her grandmother to the city to live with her so that she could take care of her.
However, right now, she was living with Jark. If she wanted to do so, she would have to talk to him first and get his consent.
âIf you donât mind, Granny, why donât you come stay with Serenity in Solaria so that she can take care of you?â Jackson suddenly asked.
Serenity looked at Jackson in surprise. She did not expect him to propose that.
Granny seemed to be surprised as well. She smiled and said, âThatâs very kind of you, but Iâm used to staying here. Besides, I have children of my own, so if I let my granddaughter take care of me instead, people will gossip. When I feel better, Iâll go visit you two in Solaria.â
Granny turned to Serenity and said, âYou better go now or youâll get back home really
Serenity nodded. âIâll come again, Granny.â
After saying goodbye to Granny, Serenity and Jackson got into the car and drove away. From the rearview mirror, Serenity saw Granny watching their car leave. She could not help feeling a little teary again.
She felt like her grandmother had aged a lot compared to the last time she saw her. It seemed that, although Granny had recovered from the illness, it had taken a huge toll on her body.
Because of her age, she would probably need a long time to become healthy again.
âIf youâre worried about your grandmother, I can find a way to get her to Solaria,â said Jackson.
Serenity shook her head. âThereâs no need for that. Sheâll probably recover faster if she recuperates at home.â Although her uncles and aunt were not particularly filial, they all had something in commonâ¦.
and that was their pridefulness. In this town, everybody knew each other. If they did not take good care of Granny, they would be labeled as unfilial by the townsfolk
Serenity also noticed that Grannyâs clothes, bedding and room looked clean. That meant they were at least taking care of Granny properly.
âThank you for today,â said Serenity.
âFor what?â Jackson asked with raised eyebrows, âFor driving you here?â
âFor being so accommodating of those relatives of mine,â replied Serenity. Otherwise, her Grandpaâs bad attitude and her aunt and cousinâs snide remarks would have landed them in big trouble.
âI wouldnât say I was accommodating. I simply pretended that they didnât exist,â said Jackson. He was there to keep her company. He couldnât care less about those people. âBut arenât you mad at them for talking to you like that?â
âSometimes, but it doesnât bother me anymore,â said Serendly, âI told myself, even though theyâre my relatives, I donât have to care about what they think or say. Itâs not like I live with them. I only see then a few times a year,â
Maybe itâs because she had been through a lot, she understood that, even if she tried hard to please others, the people who did
not like her would still dislike her.
Therefore, she should only care about the people who truly cared about her. As for other people, theyâre not worth her time.
Jackson sneaked a glance at Serenity. She sat there quietly with a calm expression on her face as if she had gained an understanding of certain things in life.
