‘Does a guy like him ever care? As the thought flashed through Serenity’s mind, she somehow thought of Lucas‘ silver bracelet. It was because of that silver bracelet that she had met Lucas.

The bracelet was clearly meant for a child, but Lucas treasured it like it was the most precious belonging. Serenity wondered what was the story behind that bracelet.

“Who are you looking at?” A low and elegant voice rang in Serenity’s cars.

Serenity immediately came to her senses, and the moment she turned her head, her lips almost met Jackson’s. It was then that she realized they were so close to each other that she had almost kissed him

Jackson’s thin lips parted slightly as he murmured softly, “It doesn’t matter who you’re looking at. You can only think of me.”

As he spoke, he looked past her to the man standing at the entrance. Lucas Gomez, his friend since childhood.

Jackson had never thought that they would both fall for the same woman. The only difference was he had Serenity’s heart, but Lucas was still unaware that she had always been the one he was looking for. If possible, he would like to keep this a secret forever.

Lucas seemed to sense something when Jackson looked at him, and he shifted his gaze to the couple, their eyes meeting mid- air.

A few moments later, Lucas brought Aria along and strode toward Jackson.

Lucas was struck the moment he saw Serenity. She seemed different from usual. Her black hair was braided into a hairstyle both elegant and lively, and her simple makeup magnified her attractiveness.

There seemed to be a mysterious glow in her eyes, sparkling with indescribable resolve. Lucas was in a trance. He thought he was looking at that little girl’s eyes again.

The little girl in his memory had similar eyes. She had said to him back then, “Don’t be scared. I’m right here. I’ll get you out of here.”

That little girl had really done it. She had gotten him out step by step and escaped from that dangerous place.

Little Lucas had thought that she would leave him alone after he had sprained his foot, but she had picked him up and insisted on taking him with her.

The hope that glimmered in despair was a feeling he would never forget.

Standing beside Lucas, Aria felt uneasy seeing Lucas‘ intent gaze on Serenity. “Luras,” she exclaimed.

Aria was surprised to see Serenity’s look today. Aria had initially thought that her mutht was enough to put her at the center of attention. After all, she had a pretty luxurious dress, expensive and better than many other ladies.

Unfortunately, Serenity seemed to shine more than her. Aria had a sour feeling as she looked at Serenity’s outfit. She felt uncomfortable seeing Serenity back in the limelight. Serenity was shining again, just like the promising lawyer she was before, while Aria seemed like a small–time actress again.
