Chapter 111
The Beginning Of All Sins
Ana had no intention of covering for Tyler. She was there to reveal everything and disrupt whatever existed between Naomi and her son.
âWhat were you guys talking about?â Naomi asked, peeking through the partly open door.
Olivia turned first, her face turning pale. Tyler followed, and he frowned.
Ana glanced up and smirked. âWell, why donât you take a guess?â
Olivia sensed trouble brewing. She reached for Anaâs hand. âPlease, donât do this to her. Donât hurt her⦠please!â
Her plea was barely audible, but Ana heard it clearly. She smirked triumphantly. Her only goal was to teach Olivia a lesson she wouldnât forget, and it seemed to be working just as she intended.
Anaâs expression softened slightly as she replied, âFine then. Seeing you so distraught, Iâll do you a favor just this once. Go inside and keep your sister company. Iâll stay out here.â
Releasing Anaâs hand, Olivia stumbled back.
Ana turned to Tyler, locking eyes with him in a tense exchange. âI suppose thereâs no need for me to talk to Naomi today,â she said with a confident smile before leaving.
Feeling as though sheâd been caught in a scandal, Olivia looked at Naomi, still flustered, What could she possibly say now?
Naomi was still waiting for an explanation.
Approaching Naomi calmly, Tyler spoke up, âWe had a disagreement. Did Ana upset you?â
Naomiâs expression gradually relaxed. âI⦠No. She was just sitting there without a word. I mean, what can she possibly do to me while Iâm in this state?â
Oliviaâs greatest fear was Naomi overhearing Anaâs words, but judging by her sisterâs reaction, it seemed she had only been mildly startled.
Taking Tylerâs hand, Naomi confessed, âI⦠I feel a bit uneasy.â
He squeezed her hand. âDonât be. Iâm here with you.
Naomi sighed, looking fragile as if a gust of wind could knock her over.
Tyler enveloped her in a comforting hug. âItâs alright now.â
Watching them, Olivia felt a pang of unease. She couldnât understand why Ana would say such things, nor why Tyler hadnât objected.
After a moment in Tylerâs embrace, Naomi beckoned Olivia closer. âCome here, Olivia. Donât just stand there.â
Olivia approached her a little apprehensively. Naomi, about to say something more, noticed the bracelet on her sisterâs wrist.
Tyler followed Naomiâs gaze, observing quietly for any reaction.
Olivia had not noticed Naomiâs attention until it was too late. She covered the bracelet with her other hand and stammered, âEr, this? Itâsâ¦uhâ¦â.
Naomi appeared surprised. âDid Maisy give you that? Have you been to the Harrisesâ?â
Before Olivia could respond, Tyler intervened, âYes, my grandmother gave it to her during a visit.
