Chapter 150
The Beginning Of All Sins
Olivia stopped in her tracks and turned around.
Tyler looked at her for a long time before continuing, âI mean, get some rest.â
He walked past her and disappeared into his room, leaving Olivia puzzled.
The next day, class proceeded as usual. Unlike before, Olivia didnât seek out updates about Naomi after class.
Noticing Olivia alone in the corridor, Sophie rushed over and grabbed her shoulders from behind. She hadnât seen her friend for a long time.
Olivia was startled. âSâSophie?!â
âWhere have you been these past few days? I couldnât find you anywhere!â Sophie exclaimed.
âSomething⦠happened at home.â
âHey,â Sophie began, studying Oliviaâs face, âYou donât look too good. Are you okay?â
Olivia checked her appearance on her phoneâs screen. âUm, Iâve been having trouble sleeping.â
âWhat happened, girl? Mr. Tyler called me a few days ago in the middle of the night!â Sophie pressed, sensing something was off about her friendâshe was too quiet and acting too strangely.
âI⦠I just went home,â Olivia answered anxiously, not eager to divulge more details.
But Sophieâs curiosity, wasnât easily crushed. âYou didnât happen to hang out with Claude, did you?
Because he was also missing that day!â she questioned.
Olivia looked even more panicked. âNâNo way!ââ
Luckily, their clubmates had arrived, diverting Sophieâs attention. âHey, you two! Come on, letâs have lunch together!â
âOkay!â Sophie gently pulled Olivia along, and they headed to the cafeteria, grabbing their food and finding a table.
Sophie spotted a newspaper and picked it up excitedly. âGuys, have you seen this?â
Olivia looked at the paper. It was an advertisement for a pair of rings. She didnât understand why Sophie was so thrilled, âThese wedding rings are amazing! I want to get a pair like this when I get married!â Sophie exclaimed.
The others joined in, expressing their excitement. âYeah, these are really popular right now. Many celebrities have them!â
F Olivia stared at the rings. They were unique, able to be worn separately or clicked together. She studied her hand quietly, deciding she would never get something like that.
While Sophie was chatting with their friends, her phone rang suddenly. She answered it and then glanced at Olivia with a curious expression.
âSheâs with us, Claude. At school. Yeah, sheâs here,â Sophie confirmed. âThatâs great. Come over here!
She ended the call and turned to Olivia with interest. âClaude is on his way to see us. Heâs already on campus.â
Olivia hadnât responded to any of Claudeâs messages, so she was surprised he called his sister. Her palms grew sweaty with anxiety.
âOlivia, be honest. Whatâs going on between you and my brother?â Sophie asked.
