Chapter 164
The Beginning Of All Sins
The atmosphere was tense as Olivia and Tyler returned home without exchanging a word. Once inside, Olivia broke the silence. âIâm going back to my room now.â
Tyler didnât stop her, retreating to his own space.
Throughout the night, Olivia couldnât sleep. The glint of her ring in the darkness taunted her, and though she contemplated removing it, she hesitated.
The next morning, Olivia asked Tyler from the doorway. âWhen are we finally getting started on IVF?â
âAfter we tied up all the loose knots.â
Aware of the pending tasks after their marriage registration, Olivia nodded. âI see. Well, I need to go out for a bit,â she stated plainly, not concealing her intentions to avoid a repeat of the Sereneville incident.
âWhere to?â
âJust lunch with my friend.â
Tyler noticed the absence of her ring. âOkay. Do you need a driver?â
âNo. Iâm fine.â
âSuit yourself.â
Returning to his room, Tyler immersed himself in work while Olivia prepared to leave.
At the restaurant, Olivia met Sophie, who greeted her excitedly. âHey! God, where have you been?! I havenât seen you in a while!â
âWell, you know⦠This and that.â
Sophie took her hand. âCome on. The restaurantâs good, I heard. Itâs new around here.â
As they entered, Sophie exclaimed, âCâClaude?!â
Olivia followed her gaze, spotting Claude dining with an elegantly dressed woman. Claude looked up, recognizing Sophie. âSophie?â
Then, his gaze shifted to Olivia, and he grinned warmly.
âWâWho is this? Your dâdate?â Sophie blurted out.
The woman observed them quietly. Claude rose, deflecting the question. âWhatever brought the two f you here?â
of âWeâre here to eat.â
âWell, why donât you join our table? It will take a while before they can get you a new table.â
Sophie, thrilled by the prospect of drama, eagerly accepted. âHell yeah!â
Olivia, however, pinched her friendâs arm in protest. This was not the time to interfere!
Ignoring Oliviaâs resistance, Sophie pulled her to the table.
The woman studied Olivia and asked, âWhoâs this?â
Claudeâs smile remained gentle. âMy sisterâs friend.
Sensing a potential threat, the woman pressed further. âIs she close to you?â
âI treat her as my little sister,â he replied softly.
