Chapter 207
The Beginning Of All Sins
After leaving the dessert shop, Olivia Just kept walking. The maid tried to follow her but couldnât keep up and eventually lost sight of her.
Looking around the huge mall, the maid searched everywhere but couldnât find Olivia. Feeling worried, she called out, âMs. Olivia!â
Olivia, on the other hand, didnât really know where she had ended up. She was just walking in a daze, not paying attention to her surroundings.
Back at the dessert shop, Sophie and Jacob were having a good time until Sophie felt something was off. She decided to text Claude to tell him what had happened.
Just then, the maid who had been chasing Olivia came back, out of breath. âDo you have Ms. Oliviaâs phone number?â
Sophie stood up immediately, concerned. âI do! What happened?â
The maid, who didnât have her phone with her, anxiously said, âIâve lost her. Could you call her for me?â
In her panic, she didnât call her âMs. Olivia.â
âIâll call my brother.â Worried Olivia might not answer, Sophie called her brother Claude instead.
After hanging up, she reassured the maid, âMy brother will get in touch with Olivia. Donât worry.â
However, the maid felt that wasnât enough. âPlease let me use your phone to make a call.â
Sophie had no idea who the maid wanted to call but handed over her phone anyway.
The maid made a quick call and returned the phone to Sophie in a hurry, thanking her before rushing off.
Sophie wanted to go after her, but Jacob grabbed her hand, saying, âSheâll be okay, someone will find her.â
She was still hesitating when she heard that.
Jacob slid his hand along her arm. âItâs our first date today. Do you want it ruined just like that?â
Sophie put her concerns behind and turned her attention to him.
He glanced at her, guiding her back to the table before placing the menu before her. âDidnât you say you love desserts? Letâs order.â
She smiled happily. âOkayâ¦â
Determined not to waste their rare date, Sophie put aside her worries about Olivia and focused on ordering the dessert she craved.
Oliviaâs phone was ringing as she kept moving forward. She didnât look at it before picking it up.
âHello.â
Claudeâs familiar voice reached her from the other end. âWhere are you, Olivia?â
âI donât know.â
