Chapter 209
The Beginning Of All Sins
Tyler helped Olivia get into the car. Once they were both inside, he glanced at her. âYou know about Claude and Morgan, right?â
Olivia didnât respond.
Tyler continued, âShe died because of him.â
Hearing this, Olivia looked at him, shocked.
Tylerâs gaze was calm, but it seemed like he was trying to hold back strong feelings.
Olivia wanted to say something, but she couldnât find the words.
âDo you really want to get involved with the guy my sister was with?â Tyler questioned.
After a pause, he added, âLook, Iâm not going to tell you what to do with your life. But staying away from Claude would be wise.â His tone was emotionless.
Olivia couldnât figure out the whole story, but she understood that Tyler really resented Claude. After a long silence, she finally said, âHeâs just a friend.â
âI hope so.â
He then added, âYou need some rest. Iâm planning to take you to my family home in a few days.â
Olivia thought everything would be over once the child was born. By then, sheâd pay her motherâs debt to the Joneses.
âWhatever. Iâll do as you say, Tyler,â she replied.
Tyler didnât say much after that and stopped looking at her.
When they got back home, Olivia went straight upstairs.
Linda was there too. She walked to Tyler. âI think it has something to do with Jacob and Sophie.â
Naturally, Tyler had already figured out that much. He knew about them dating. Rumors about Jacob at the office had reached him, but he hadnât expected Olivia to bump into them.
âLet her heal on her own,â he said. He was aware that Olivia hadnât moved on from Jacob yet, so it made sense that she reacted this way.
But he believed it was time for her to let go of her first love.
That night, Sophie asked Claude if he had seen Olivia when she arrived home. Noticing Sophieâs nervousness, he asked, âWhat did you do?â
Sophie didnât answer right away. After thinking it over, she admitted, âIâm dating Jacob. Heâs Oliviaâs BXâ
âThink about what youâre doing. Do you really like him that much?â Claude questioned.
âI really like him,â Sophie insisted, Claude had met Jacob once, but he had a bad feeling about him. âIâve heard his family background isnât great.â
âThatâs okay. I can help him,â Sophie quickly said.
Claude didnât seem convinced, âDid you say you can help him?â
Sophie fell silent.
