Chapter 322
The Beginning Of All Sins
Naomiâs eyes looked empty. She believed that love was everything to her, and without it, her life would mean nothing. She breathed so softly that it seemed like she might stop breathing at any moment.
âIâll accept it if you donât love me anymore, Tyler,â she said weakly.
Hearing this, Tyler squeezed her hand tighter and replied in a steady voice, âHow could I stop loving you?â
He looked serious as he focused on her. âDonât we both dream of having a child? We will, âOlivia once youâre better. Weâll have a wonderful family,â he continued after a brief pause. is just like a sister to me.
Donât you get it?â
Naomi lay still, just looking at him as he spoke.
Bending down, Tyler whispered in her ear, âI will always love you, Naomi. Iâm waiting for you to recover.
Once youâre better, our life together will get even better.â
His whispers painted a picture of their future together. Naomi blinked, and a spark seemed to return to her eyes. She let out a small laugh. âReally?â
âOf course,â Tyler assured her, holding her hand firmly and gently touching her thin cheek.
She smiled, visibly comforted, and murmured, âThatâs great. Everything is amazing.â Hope began to sparkle in her eyes.
After touching her cheek a while longer, Tyler advised, âBe good, donât be stubborn. Listen to the doctor.â
It took her a moment, but then Naomi nodded. âOkayâ¦â
The medical staff had been watching quietly from a distance, careful not to disturb the moment. They only approached Naomi after Tyler let go of her hand. For over ten minutes, she cooperated with everything they did.
Olivia didnât see Tyler for the next five days, nor did she know how Naomi was doing.
On the sixth day, Darren visited her. âNaomi is doing much better now,â he informed her. Relief filled her, and she smiled genuinely. âReally? Thatâs great. Iâm so glad sheâs okay.â
The past few days have been hard for Darren too. Naomiâs health crisis had nearly shattered the family. Thankfully, she was stable now. She wasnât completely healed, but her life was no longer in danger.
