Chapter 338
The Beginning Of All Sins
Tyler seemed to have done that because Mais asked him to. Olivia just stared at her plate but didnât eat 1. it.
Tyler kept on eating his meal, while Maisy and Ana watched everything quietly. Olivia finally picked up her fork and started eating the food he gave her.
After seeing Olivia eat, Tyler went back to his food.
Nobody talked while they were eating.
Then Maisy suddenly asked, âArenât you going out today?â
Olivia didnât look up but listened carefully for Tylerâs answer.
Tyler put down his fork, wiped his mouth with a napkin, and said, âI have some work to do.â
Maisy looked really angry and told him, âYouâve been busy for days. Itâs enough work now.â
Tyler didnât say anything back.
Ana put down her fork and knife and said, âWhy do you need to take care of her yourself? Oliviaâs sister is your inâlaw. We can just hire a nurse to take care of her.â
Olivia gripped her fork tightly but then let go, bracing herself for an argument.
Tyler put his napkin down and looked at Ana. He leaned back and asked her, âSince when do you care about this? If youâre free, why donât you check on Dad?â His voice was calm, as if he was just talking about the weather.
Ana just stared at him angrily. After a moment, she scoffed, âIt does sound like Iâm poking my nose into your business.â
Tyler stood up from his chair. âIâm finished. You can continue.â Then he walked away from the table.
Olivia didnât know what to do. During the conversation, she started to realize something about Ana and Keith.
Since Olivia became part of the family, she barely saw Keith at home. At first, she thought he was just busy, but even when work should have been over, he was hardly ever there.
She noticed that Ana and Keith didnât talk much to each other. They seemed like a couple, but there was a big gap between them. Tyler didnât seem to care about his parents relationship either.
This was all new to Olivia; she had never seen a family like this before.
She didnât say anything and just quietly put down her fork and knife, sitting there as if she wasnât there.
After Tyler left, Ana stood up and said to Maisy, âIâm done too, Mom. You can keep eating.â
Maisy sighed and tried to make Ana feel better. âDonât worry about what Tyler said.â
âWhy would I worry?â Ana forced a smile. She was upset but determined to show Tyler what happens when he opposes her, even if he is her son.
Then Ana also left.
Maisy looked worried and told Olivia, âPlease eat.â
Olivia didnât look around and just kept eating.
That day, breakfast ended abruptly.
