Chapter 52
The Beginning Of All Sins
âTyler?â Sophie seemed surprised by the answer and wanted to confirm, âMr. Tyler Harrierâ
Sophie chuckled in relief and said, âI thought it was someone else. So it was Mr. Tyler Isnât it normal for him to take you to school? Itâs all just a misunderstanding. Iâll clear your name on the forum right away.â
But as Sophie reached for her phone, Olivia grabbed her hand. She seemned emotional, and Sophle looked at hot, confused by her actions.
âSophieâ¦â Olivia began with difficulty, âForget it, Sophie. Itâs nothing. Let them say whatever they want.
Itâs not the truth anyway.â
Olivia didnât understand why she felt guilty, but she couldnât shake the feeling that she was in a dangerous situation. She was afraid these rumors would consume her.
âWhat are you doing, Olivia? Itâs bad for your reputation if you donât clear your name,â
Olivia pleaded, âItâs really nothing. Iâm begging you, Sophle, okay? Forget about it. I donât want this to blow up.â
Sophie was stumped by Oliviaâs request but eventually agreed, saying, âOf course, Iâll do as you say.â
Relieved to hear that, Olivia softly said, âLetâs go.â
Still feeling something was wrong, Sophie hesitated for a moment but finally followed Olivia as she was dragged away.
However, the situation turned out to be much more serious than Olivia had Imagined. The stares and gossip continued even after they entered the classroom.
The piercing stares felt like vicious whips, and students whispered among themselves.
âThatâs her, right?â
âI think so. Look at the pictures.â
Sophie tried to defend Olivia. âItâs not true! Donât speculate without proof!â
But nobody seemed to believe her. They preferred to believe in their own imagination.
Olivia didnât know how she managed to get through the day. When she returned to Sandalwood Palace in the evening, the maid noticed that she was clearly upset and asked, âWhatâs wrong, Ms. Olivia?â
Olivia, who had offered to help in the kitchen before, no longer did so. She replied, âIâm alright, Iâm going to my room,â without looking at the maid and quickly left.
The maid was left confused.
Tyler arrived home late, and the living room was quiet. The maid approached him, but he didnât ask anything. Handing her his coat, he gave a curt nod and went upstairs without wanting to engage in conversation.
The maid wanted to say something but stopped when she saw Tyler wasnât in the mood to talk.
As Tyler headed to his room, he didnât even pause outside Oliviaâs door.
Meanwhile, Olivia was in her room, trembling. She hugged her blanket tightly, her room filled with silence.
She heard Tylerâs footsteps, and she allowed the darkness to envelop her as silent tears streamed down her face.
