Chapter 35
Mine
Roy and the werewolf stared at each other while walking in circles, neither wanting to be the first to
attack. From the looks of it, this one was of a higher rank, as it wasn't quick to attack like the others
were. Roy had totally forgotten about the second werewolf and only realized his mistake when it
descended on him from behind, biting him in the process. He was on the ground whining and
groaning. The weight was soon off him as he noticed a brown werewolf which he recognized as his
beta sink its teeth into the other werewolf's neck. In that moment, he saw the larger werewolf
retreat back into the forest.
âFollow himâ Roy ordered his beta through the mind link, which Elijah did without hesitation.
Roy went for the werewolf Elijah was previously attacking and broke its leg before snapping its neck.
Glancing around his surrounding, he noticed his mate lying unconscious on the ground. He
immediately shifted back to human and ran over to her.
"He's gone alpha. He ran into the white moon packâ his beta said through the mind link as he ran
back to his alpha.
Roy's guess wasn't wrong, he knew this was their doing. They're lucky they didn't lay a finger on his
mate. If they had done that, he would've raided their pack, killing anyone he gets his hands on.
âClean up this messâ he said to his beta while he had Kimberly in his arms, heading home.

Kimberly woke up and found herself back in her bedroom.
âHow did she come back here?" she wondered, trying to replay the previous events in her head.
She remembered running through the woods and was later surrounded by those three hideous
animals, who had murdered lan and his friends, then Roy showed up and... and he- he turned into
one of them, a really huge one at that and that was the last thing she saw.
Kimberly shivered at the memory, feeling quite betrayed. Roy was aware of how she lost her friends
and he pretended to be ignorant, when in reality, he was part of it. She actually hadn't been
imagining things when she saw his eyes flicker to yellow the first day they met. Could they be
werewolves? But werewolves are supposed to be myths, legends or was it folktales? Whatever it
was.
She began sobbing at the thought of her dad. She missed him so much and desperately wants to
tell him how sorry she was for going against him.
âYou're finally awakeâ
Kimberly gasped at that voice. Before, hearing it would've gotten her excited, but now, she was
petrified. She wants to have nothing to do with this man, wolf or whatever he was.
She backed away from him until her back was against the headboard, making her whimper in fear
because she had no where to run to now.
Roy was heartbroken when Kimberly backed away just at the sound of his voice. He never meant to
scare her nor did he mean for her to find out about their kind in that manner, but he had no choice,
he needed to protect her from those scoundrels.
After waiting for hours for her to wake up, he was hurt by her reaction and so was his wolf. It's not
like he was expecting a better reaction, but it still hurts.
âI'm sorry, Kimberly. I didn't want you finding out like thisâ he quietly said, standing up from the
chair he was seated.
"Get away from me!â she yelled, still trembling from what she had just discovered.
Roy could see the look of fear and betrayal she was sending his way.
âYou animal, you killed him! You're a murderer. You're all murderers!â she sobbed, screaming at the
top of her lungs while throwing pillows at him.
'What is she talking about? He was only trying to protect herâ
"You killed lan. I'll never forgive you. NEVER!" she yelled the last part as she cried harder.
âI didn't kill your friends!â he yelled back, making her flinch
He was now angry.
How can she accuse him of such a thing, when he had no idea about her nor her friends existence,
not until she stepped into his house.
He felt bad for startling her even more, so he took a deep breath and continued
âI may be a werewolf, but I'm not like them. I only kill when it's necessary, and that is to protect my
pack and loved ones... Those werewolves were the ones who killed your friends and they aren't even
from this packâ he explained, trying to make her understand.
He hopes it would calm her a bit, but her next statement stabbed his heart.
âI don't care who or what you are. I just wanna get out of hereâ
This was what he had feared would happen. Kimberly hating him and wanting to get away from him.
It looks like he was bound to stay mateless and should never have gotten his hopes up in the first
place.
âI'll get you out of here when you feel betterâ Roy quietly replied before walking out of her room.
He was too weak to argue. If she wants to leave, there's nothing he can do but let her go.
