Teases
Solomon Academy 1: Della
DELLA
The morning light nudges me awake, and I find myself surprisingly clear-minded. Yesterday was a lot, but Iâve decided to just take it one day at a time. Thatâs all I really can do.
I reach for my schedule and see divination at nine, history of the realms at one, and power training at three.
I decide to dress up and have some fun teasing Kade today. I slip a sexy pair of underwear on beneath my skirt, then rearrange my top to let a hint of my strappy bra peek through my button-down. I tuck my knife into a boot, and Iâm ready to head to breakfast.
But I remember thereâs something I still need to do first before I leave the dorm.
I leave my room and spot Micha, who looks less than thrilled to be awake.
âGood morning,â I greet him with a smile.
âMorning,â he grumbles back.
âSo, I have to go yell at someone. You can come feed if you want, but donât listen,â I tease.
Excitement lights up his copper eyes. âHow could I ever say no to an offer like that?â He trails after me as I walk over to Ozâs door and knock.
Oz opens the door, looking surprised. âUmâ¦h-hi, Della,â he stammers, trying to act casual. âHow are you?â
âDonât play innocent. I know what you did. I told you to leave it alone,â I snap.
âCome in. Please. Letâs talk about this inside,â he suggests, darting a nervous glance at Micha.
Micha stifles a yawn as he leans against the hallway wall. âDonât mind me. Iâm just here for a free meal,â he says with a sleepy smirk.
I walk into Ozâs room and see itâs the same as mine, but with red bedding instead of purple. I hear the door close, and then itâs just Oz and me.
âI was just trying to help. I felt bad that you had to leave everything behind,â he explains in a rush.
âI understand that. But you went behind my back to do it. You even lied to The Doctor. He pulled me out of class to yell at me.â I take a deep breath. âIf I wanted you to know, I would have told you.â
âIâm still not sure what happened when we got there,â he admits.
âWhat do you mean?â I ask.
âI went to Dr. Tenn and asked him to help me bring the rest of your stuff. So we went through the portal to aâ¦room? It was pitch black in the room, and when we walked out, it looked like a scene from a horror movie,â he confesses.
âIt was an old asylum. Thatâs where I was staying. I donâtâ¦have a place,â I explain. I see the moment he understands. âAll I have is my backpack. Thatâs it.â
âShit. Iâm so sorry. No wonder Dr. Tenn freaked out. Did you know some homeless people died there? There were dead bodies at your place,â he rants.
âYes. Thatâs what made you guys come get me. That was my surge of magic,â I admit.
âYou killed them?â he whispers.
âYes. Itâs apparently part of my demon powers.â I shrug.
âNo wonder you were so on edge when we found you⦠Iâm so sorry. I overstepped,â he apologizes.
âI get that you were just trying to do something nice, so I wonât hold it against you. Next time, just talk to me. Okay?â I plead.
âYou got it,â he promises, pulling me into a hug. âIâm here for you, okay? Next time, just talk to me,â he echoes, making me laugh.
âYou got it. Iâm heading out now. Iâll see you at breakfast,â I say, heading back through the door.
The hallway is empty, and I canât find Micha. Oh well. He probably got hungry and headed to breakfast first.
Sure enough, Micha is already in the cafeteria when I arrive. I grab a water bottle and a yogurt with fruitâit must be healthy, right?
âEverything okay?â I ask as I slide into the seat across from him.
âAre you and Oz a thing?â he blurts out. Iâm taken aback. Oz was open with me, but I donât know if heâs come out to everyone yet. Shit.
âUmâ¦no? Heâs into someone else. And Iâve firmly placed him in the friend zone. Why?â I respond.
âYou guys just seemed really closeâ¦,â he trails off. His aura flares green. I canât remember what that shade of green signifies from the aura guidelines he gave me. Iâll have to memorize that. It could be useful.
âWho were you getting close with?â Oz chimes in, his interest piqued. I notice Sorin taking a seat next to him.
âYou,â I retort with a smirk.
Oz throws his head back and laughs heartily. âNo. She doesnât do it for me.â Oz wiggles his eyebrows at Micha suggestively.
âOh! Got it,â Micha says, blushing.
âAll good. I donât really advertise it. She didnât tell you?â Oz looks at me, confused.
âNo.â Micha shakes his head.
âIâm not going to out someone. Itâs your business. If you want someone to know, itâs up to you,â I say, dismissing the topic with a wave of my hand.
Oz pulls me into a one-armed hug. âThanks,â he whispers.
âDella, are you still hiding from that punisher?â Micha asks.
âYes. Is he here?â I ask, a playful smile on my lips.
âYep, heâs pacing the door.â Micha chuckles.
I glance over and sure enough, heâs pacing near the door, scanning the hallway for me. He looks a bit unhinged. This is going to be fun. âIs there a second exit?â I ask, scanning the room.
Oz snorts but points to the back corner. Perfect.
âThank you.â
I catch the punisherâs eye and flash him a smile. He shakes his head and starts prowling over as I get up and walk out the door.
âHoly shit!â I hear Oz exclaim, just before the door closes behind me.
I sprint down the hall and fling a door open, but I donât go through it. Instead, I turn the corner and then another before I hear the cafeteria door open.
âLittle demonâ¦,â I hear Kade growl, sending shivers down my spine. I duck into an alcove and wait for him to pass before yanking him in with me.
His eyes light up with excitement as I pull him closer. I trace a finger down his bronze throat.
âI caught you. That means I get to tease you more,â I say with a grin. He groans as my fingers trail down his chest. I unbutton my shirt to reveal the sheer, strappy red bra Iâm wearing. âIf you want to see more, youâll have to catch me,â I whisper.
âYou are going to break me. I already had to take care of myself twice last night and once this morning,â he groans.
I lean up and kiss him. âThen youâll just have to try harder to catch me. I promise Iâll take care of you when you do,â I whisper against his lips.
He lets out a frustrated growl and grabs my ass, pressing his hardness against my stomach.
I let out a quiet whimper. âWe better get to class,â I say, licking his lips.
âFine,â he growls. I would feel bad if I didnât know he enjoyed it so much. âOh. Thanks for the hickey. The whole dorm is trying to figure out who Iâm seeing.â
âDo you want another?â I tease.
âSurprise me,â he says, gripping my ass again. âAre you wearing anything under that?â
âYes. Itâs just small. I know you like tiny teases,â I reply with a smile.
âGod help me, I do,â he growls. His hands on my ass suddenly turn gentle, and his face softens. âHow are you feeling after last night?â he asks, his voice tinged with concern.
âIâm okay. Still processing, but teasing you is keeping me sane,â I say with a smirk.
âHappy to be of service.â He chuckles. âWe better go. Iâm gonna catch you after class.â
âSounds good.â I button up my shirt and walk with Kade to class.
