Visions
Solomon Academy 1: Della
DELLA
We arrive at divination class where I find Sorin sitting at a table. I take the seat next to him with a smile.
âHey, I didnât know demons took this class.â
âI just go where Iâm told,â I say with a shrug. âIâve been known to have a vision or two, so who knows.â
âReally?â he asks.
âYeah, the night we met I had a dream about the academy, actually.â
âThatâs crazy. And whatâs with the Nephilim?â he asks.
âKade was volun-told to be my tour guide. But I think Iâm growing on him,â I say, running a finger in circles around Kadeâs knee under the table.
âYouâre crazy.â He laughs as he turns to Kade and asks, âDid she tell you how we met?â
âStop trying to scare people away from me,â I scold, laughing.
âShe had a knife to my throat,â Sorin continues. Kade smirks as my hand travels higher up his leg.
âHe dragged me into an alley first. Donât listen to him,â I argue.
âThen you threatened to cut off a lust demonâs ballsâ¦â
âI knew about that one.â Kade grins.
âDid she tell you that she dragged Doctor Tenn into a girlsâ bathroom?â Sorin asks.
âNow youâre messing with me,â Kade says, his brow furrowing.
âTechnically, no. But heâs making it sound dirty intentionally. It wasnât like that,â I say, shooting Sorin a glare. âStop it.â
He chuckles at my expense. âIâm just saying that youâre a handful. Everyone should be warned about you.â Sorin shrugs.
I know heâs joking, but heâs not wrong.
I remove my hand from Kadeâs leg and settle into class. Am I pushing too hard on teasing Kade? Iâm happy with how things are going with him, but maybe I need to pull back. I stew in my thoughts for most of the class, only being pulled out of them by having to do a tea reading.
âYouâre in inner turmoil,â Sorin says, raising an eyebrow as he peers into the cup like heâs trying to read fine print.
âArenât we all?â I ask, half-joking. I look into Sorinâs cup and am pulled into a vision.
~Writhing bodies and moans and hands and pink and bright white auras. Red hair andâ¦blue.~
I snap out of the vision and almost throw the cup across the table.
âWhat did you see?! Your eyes went a super hot black!â Sorin asks, his aura bursting with pink.
âUm⦠I donât know. It didnât make sense,â I lie. I think he knows, too, but thankfully he doesnât say anything.
âOh⦠Well, that sucks. I gave you a good one.â He smiles, but it doesnât reach his eyes.
I canât stand it. Heâs always so sweet and funny. âIâll tell you later,â I whisper.
His brow furrows, but he nods. I donât know how Iâm going to tell him all of that, but I donât want to lie to him.
We all head to lunch, and I tell Kade to go ahead and catch up with me later. He grins down at me before walking away.
âAre you going to tell me?â Sorin asks quietly. He sounds so seriousâit breaks my heart.
âYeah, but itâs kind of private. We should go somewhere else to talk about it,â I mutter awkwardly.
âOkay⦠Then letâs go into an empty classroom,â he suggests, guiding me to a door. We enter to find the room filled with chairs stacked haphazardly on one another. He turns to face me after he closes the door.
âSoâ¦um⦠This is kind of hard.â I laugh nervously. âI saw us in the vision. We wereâ¦together.â His eyebrows disappear behind his messy dark red hair.
âLikeâ¦together how?â
âLike we were in the middle of having sex,â I clarify bluntly.
âOh⦠Oh, yeah. Thatâs not a classroom-appropriate vision,â he says, trying to hold back a grin.
âNo, itâs not,â I agree.
âSo⦠You know I like you?â he asks.
âI didnât, no. But Iâm kind of in a thing with someone.â
âIâm good with sharing. I prefer it, actually. Give me a chance?â he asks, stepping closer to me.
Breathing becomes difficult as his straining red shirt fills my view. âI need to talk to him first,â I manage to say.
His hand makes its way to my face, making my breath hitch as he smiles down at me. âOf course. If itâs a yes, let me know. And so you know, itâs not just a quick fuck for me. I was yours from the moment you had a knife against my throat in that tight little blue dress,â he says softly, making me whimper an incoherent response.
He smiles warmly, his light-blue eyes filled with heat, but he lets me go. He steps out of the room, closing the door softly behind him, and I just stand there, trying to remember how to breathe. These academy boys are doing a number on my poor libido!
I make my way to the cafeteria in a daze. If Kade had been lucky, thatâs when he would have caught me. But I make it to the food without any more sexually charged moments.
I grab a chicken Caesar wrap and head to the guysâ table. Kade isnât there, but thatâs okay. Heâs probably with his friends.
âThere she is!â Oz exclaims as I approach.
âWhat did you do now?â I ask.
âNothing yet. We were just wondering where you got off to,â Oz teases with a knowing smirk. I donât miss the get-off comment.
âJust had to make a pit stop,â I reply with an easy smile. I see a small smile play on Sorinâs lips out of the corner of my eye.
âWhat do you have next?â Micha asks.
âHistory of the realms. Then I have power training again. What about you guys?â I ask, taking a bite of my wrap. I hum at the deliciousness.
No one answers.
I look up and see Oz is feeding⦠on Sorin and Micha. What the hell happened? I look around to see who walked past or bent over or something. I donât see anything. I shrug and get back to my lunch.
âIncoming,â Oz whispers, pointing behind me.
I turn around and see Kade walking over. White and pink pouring over his aura. White? Thatâs new. I smile as I get up. âSee you guys,â I say, laughing, and walk calmly out of the cafeteria and into the hall we were tucked into before.
I grab the first alcove instead of the fourth this time. I feel him approaching and pull him in as he passes.
He smiles down at me, and I push up on my toes to kiss him.
He breaks the kiss first. âI wanted to talk to you about what Sorin said in class,â he says seriously. âYou know I like that youâre a handful, right?â My heart fills up at his words. âYouâre my handful.â He looks down at my shirt with a mischievous smile. âMaybe two handfuls.â
I laugh and bring him down for another kiss. âIâm not going too far with the teasing, am I?â I ask.
âNo. I like it. I do wish you werenât so good at hiding, though. I should be able to find the one blue-haired girl in the school,â he says with a smile. âDonât stop.â
âI wonât then. But now I have to tell you something,â I say, hesitating on how to word it. âThe vision I had in class? It was Sorin and me having sex.â
His eyebrows shoot up. âI take it you told him, and he confessed his feelings?â he asks.
My brow furrows. âY-yes.â
âHe told me. He figured out about us. Not that I donât want anyone to know, but I kind of like that itâs just ours,â he says quickly.
âI like that too.â I reach up and caress his cheek. âUm⦠I think Oz knows too. But thereâs no hiding all of this from him,â I say, gesturing to our auras, and he grins.
âItâs okay, you know. Sorin and you. I told you before, Iâm okay with it as long as we donât stop,â he says. âIâm okay with Micha too. And Tenn if he can pull his head out of his ass.â
âIâm sorry, what?â I sputter.
âYeah, they both like you too. Maybe they have something to do with your red string dream,â he points out.
Iâm still wondering why he thinks The Doctor likes me. It seems like he can barely tolerate me. âI think youâve gone insane,â I state.
He just chuckles. âYou donât see how they look at you when youâre not paying attention. I do.â
Ugh. âBut Tenn? No way.â
He shrugs. âYou do what you want with that information. I just wanted to say my piece out loud. I really am okay with sharing. Just as long as that Caleb asshole isnât involved.â
âEw. No.â I grimace.
âOkay, good. Because I swear there is something wrong with him.â Iâd have to agree with that. âAre we still good?â he asks, sounding almost a little timid.
âYouâre not getting rid of me that easily,â I whisper, pulling him down into another kiss.
