Chapter 150
Divorce Time
Chapter 150 felt like the morning dragged on forever, but they finally got a break at lunchtime.
Just then, Charleneâs phone buzzed with a new message. It was from Connie, asking if she wanted to join her for some skiing in the afternoon.
Charlene replied with a voice message, âGot a lot on my plate today, so Iâll pass. You go have fun.â
Connie sent a simple, âAlright.â
Later, as Charlene stepped out of Kentonâs study to grab a drink, another message from Connie popped up. This time, it was a series of photos.
In them were Thorne, Vesta, Jasmine, along with Granger and Daisy, all together.
Following the photos, Connie texted, âWas having a blast skiing with my friends, and then ran into them. Totally killed my vibe!â
Charlene only glanced at one photo before deciding not to view the rest, knowing who was in them.
Upon seeing Connieâs message, she calmly replied with a voice message, âJust enjoy yourselves, donât mind them.â
Connie quickly responded, âWe might stay till late. You sure you donât wanna come?â
Charlene sent back, âIâm swamped here.â
Connie sighed, âAlright then.â
Putting her phone away, Charlene picked up her glass and went back into the study. They were busy the whole day.
By evening, Stewart stretched lazily and suggested, âHey, Kenton, how about we go out for dinner? Our treat!â, Kenton barely gave him a glance before saying, âIâve got plans.â
Charlene and Stewart exchanged surprised looks.
âIâm having dinner with Thorne tonight.â
Stewart glanced at Charlene, who was casually sipping her water.
Kenton grabbed his keys and headed out as he said, âMake sure to lock up when you leave.â Pausing, he added, âThough, I doubt Iâll be gone long.â
Charlene and Stewart both replied, âSure, Professor.â
Meanwhile, on the other side of town.
After a fun day of skiing, Jasmine was in high spirits.
Exiting the ski lodge, she told Thorne excitedly, âDad, I want seafood for dinner.â
Thorne replied, âIâve got something on with Ms. Hawkins. The driverâs waiting in the parking lot for you. Just tell the chef what you want when you get home.â
Jasmineâs bright smile fell, âWhatâs so important that I canât come?â
Thorne gently pinched her cheek, âItâs a big deal.â
âBut-â
Jasmine pouted, turning to Vesta with a whimper, âMs. Hawkins...â
Vesta, touched by Thorneâs words, bent down and hugged Jasmine, âItâs about a very special opportunity for me, something Iâve been waiting for a long time. I canât afford any slipâups Can you understand that for me, 08:55 apter 5 Minnie?â
Hearing Vestaâs explanation, Jasmine, though still a bit unhappy, nodded obediently, âOkay, but you owe me a treat next week, Ms. Hawkins.â
Vesta promised, âAbsolutely.â
She smiled at Thorne, a silent conversation passing between them.
Granger watched silently from the side.
Daisy, however, came over to hold Jasmineâs hand, suggesting, âLetâs all have dinner together next week if we can.â
After a few meetings, Jasmine and Daisy had become good friends.
Jasmine nodded, âSure.â
