Chapter 152
Divorce Time
Chapter 152 Vesta bit her lip in disappointment. This was not the response she had hoped for.
As Kenton was about to leave, Vesta quickly stepped forward, âMr. Wagner, how do you suggest I improve then?â
Kenton paused, his voice cold, âStudy more, pay more attention to new trends in the field When he said so, Thome returned.
Before Thome could speak, Kenton said, âTve done what I could, Iâll be in touch in a few days.â
âAlright,â Thorne replied as Kenton made his exit.
Thorne turned to Vesta and, seeing her disappointed look, asked, âNot the result you were hoping for?â
Vesta nodded in agreement, âHe didnât take me on,â
What did Mr. Wagner say? Tell me Vesta relayed the conversation and Kentonâs advice to her.
âYouâre actually quite skilled, Thorne remarked. âHis advice seems pretty fairâ
Vesta paused, reflecting on her recent lack of dedication to her field and failure to keep up with new developments. She realized Kenton saw her lack of effort and focus as a sign of an unprofessional attitude, unworthy of his mentorship, rather than a lack of ability.
Knowing her rejection was due to her attitude rather than her capabilities made Vesta feel somewhat better.
âTry again when you get another chance, Thorne suggested.
âI will,â she resolved, confident that with the right attitude, sheâd be able to meet Kentonâs standards next time.
She couldnât help but regret focusing too much on racing recently. Had she not, she might already be one of Kentonâs students.
Back at his mansion, Kenton found Charlene and Stewart preparing for a potluck dinner, having just finished shopping and cleaning the ingredients.
Seeing him return, Stewart asked, âBack so soon?â
Kenton, still distant, replied simply, âYeah.â
Noticing the glance Stewart gave Charlene as she brought out the dishes, he prodded, âSo... I take it we don have a new protégé?â
Kenton didnât answer, silently accepting a bowl from Charlene and sitting down.
His silence spoke volumes.
Stewart chuckled, looking at Charlene, âI knew it. I had her pegged the moment we met.â
Charlene laughed, sending him to fetch the remaining meat from the kitchen, âYes, youâre always right.â
As Stewart returned with the meat, curiosity got the better of him, âSo, teacher, where do you think she stands in our field?â
âA notch above the average PhD graduate.â
âGreat minds think alike.â
In the last decade, the Al field has made significant strides domestically, arguably outpacing global standards for some time now. As a key player in this revolution, Kenton interacts daily with the best products, 08:44 technologies, and talents in the industry.
By general standards, Vesta was indeed quite talented. But she was only exceptional among the generally gifted.
Compared to those around Kenton, she was far behind.
And when it came to Kenton and Charlene, the difference was even starker.
After all, at twentyâfive, Vesta was nowhere near achieving what Charlene had years ago.
