Chapter 182
Divorce Time
Chapter 182 Stewart had just called her, mentioning he had arranged a meeting with a lawyer for her. Tomorrow morning, she was scheduled to see the lawyer.
She had to finalize the divorce as soon as possible.
Granger knew she had misunderstood something, but he didnât correct her. He simply said, âAlright.â
At that moment, Charlene thought he was about to end the call. When he didnât, Charlene asked in confusion, âMr. Harden, is there anything else?â
Granger noticed the calmness in Charleneâs voice, which surprisingly lacked the pain and distress he had anticipated.
But was that truly the case? Perhaps she was merely suppressing her feelings.
After a brief silence of two or three seconds, Charlene spoke again, âMr. Harden? Are you still there?â
ranger snapped back to reality, responding, âYes.â
Charlene asked, âIs there anything else?â She added, âI have other matters to attend to. If thereâs nothing else, shall we end the call?â
Granger had no choice but to agree, âAlright.â
With that, Charlene hung up.
Her recent project had received high praise from Kenton Just a couple of days ago, Kenton had messaged her, asking her to organize her work for a review before submitting it to a reputable journal.
She had been caught up with Neural Nexus Tech and PrimeStar affairs lately, which had put her personal projects on hold.
Now that she had some free time, she was eager to get back to her work.
With that thought, she set her phone aside and powered up her computer.
After ending the call, Granger dialed Moran back, inquiring, âThorne wants a divorce and custody of Minnie, right? She must be opposed to it. Are they preparing for a court battle?â
Moran had originally called Granger to discuss this very topic. He replied, âNot at all! She agreed! To both the divorce and the custody, without any objection. She signed the papers quite calmly, itâs unbelievable!â
Granger was just as shocked.
It didnât make sense for Charlene to give up Jasmineâs custody so easily. It was completely out of character Moran pressed, âSo, why do you think that is?â
Before Granger could respond, Moran speculated, âIs she trying to win Thorneâs favor, make him feel guilty?
Granger had no definitive answer.
Admittedly, given Charleneâs feelings for Thorne, it was a possibility.
After a moment of silence, Granger asked, âWhat about Thorne? How did he react?â
âThorne was surprised too. Today, at the family dinner, I felt he was paying more attention to Charlene than usual. Damn, if Iâm right about this, then Charlene is a real strategist, not someone to be underestimated at all!â
Granger remarked lightly, âOr maybe, she genuinely wants the divorce?â
Moran paused, âYou mean Charlene?â He scoffed, âHow could that be? Sheâs been into Thorne since her teens. After all these years, thereâs no way sheâd want to leave Thorne.â
10:36 Granger hinted, âPeople change.â
Moran stuck to his opinion, âI still think itâs impossible.â
Continuing, he said, âAnyway, this is something worth celebrating for Thorne. Once youâre back from your trip, and Vestaâs injury heals a bit, we should definitely celebrate.â
It was then Moran realized Grangerâs silence.
