Matt&The Short Interview
The Light That Shines Within(Sneak Peek)
I had walked in on Lily Thomas changing in my office. She hadn't noticed one bit. I definitely did. How do you miss a pretty little redhead undressing without you even asking? Pink sparkle bra. Yep, I noticed.
"You realize you are very late for an interview. Frankly, everyone was turned away but you. Why do you think you deserve this job or even a interview for that matter?"
She looked like she mustered all the confidence she could.
"Well, considering you just creeper stalked me while I was changing clothes...Unless you want a PR nightmare, you could at least give me a chance to be interviewed."
"Fair enough."
"Fair enough," she repeated.
"So, Ms. Thomas what qualifications do you have to be a personal assistant's assistant?"
"Well, I have an art history degree so meticulous details are something not lost on me. I teach a senior citizen art class. Sometimes they need so much assistance, it's as slow as watching paint peel. I can manage stressful situations like the other night at the gallery or like five minutes ago. I have a flare for creativity."
"And a sense of humor," I added.
She definitely didn't lack any skills in the department of sarcasm. She was easy on the eyes, smart, and funny.
"You're hired!"
"Really? You don't have any other questions for me?"
"No. Do you have any for me?"
"Um. What is the salary? What time does work start? What exactly is it we do here?"
"We? You mean I run a company. Starting salary is 50,000. You are expected to be here at 7."
"What time do you get here,?" she very curiously asks me.
"That's not for you to worry with, Ms. Thomas."
"That means I have to leave my apartment by 6. Be up by 5:30."
"Welcome to adulthood," I very bluntly spit out.
She wanted to bite back at me but was cautious as she seemed to be aware that she only had gotten the job two minutes ago.
"You're dismissed for the day. We have to get everything set up for you before you starting tomorrow."
