Chapter 3
Married To My Dearest Enemy by Jared Mandel
Chapter 3
Tyler looked at Audrey, asking, âWhat? Do you think Iâm joking with you?â
Audrey didnât deny it and whispered, âConsidering my current situation, you should be happy, I guess.â
Tyler nodded. âYouâre right. Iâm quite happy.â
As he stood up, he continued, âHave you forgotten how you treated me back then? I hold grudges, and now that youâre down and out, itâs a perfect opportunity for me to get back at you. How could I let you off?â
She knew all along that this man was never kindâhearted. She was a hundred percent sure that he was not going to treat her in a nice way.
âAudrey, besides me, you have nob*dy else to rely on.â Tyler raised his hand and brushed Audreyâs hair behind her ear, saying âI heard that your grandmother urgently needs a large sum of money for surgery. Given your current situation, it must be difficult for you to afford it, right?â
Audreyâs hands hung by her side, her nails digging deeply into her palms. âHow do you plan to get back at me?â
âBy marrying you, of course. The best revenge is to torment you right under my nose,â Tyler replied.
Audrey knew very well that with the Russell familyâs status in Willowdale, they could easily help the Griffin family make a comeback. Her motherâs insistence on her. marrying Tyler was because her mother knew about the Russell familyâs background.
Even if Audrey refused Tyler, she couldnât escape the fate of sacrificing herself for the Griffin family. Compared to marrying a man she didnât know, Tyler at least had good looks, and that would be a result that seemed acceptable.
Audrey looked at him, asking, âWhat if I refuse to marry you?â
âFor the sake of your grandmother, you will.â Tyler sounded certain.
Audrey was about to speak when her phone rang again.
It was her mother, Emma, calling again.
âLetâs go. Donât keep them waiting for too long.â Tyler said, walking toward the door.
Audrey took a deep breath, and then followed him.
The private room they were going to was also on this floor. At the door, Audrey couldnât

âAre you
you planning to go in dressed like this?â Tyler stopped at the door. âDonât to make a good impression.on your future parentsâinâlaw?â
Audrey looked down at her attire, feeling embarrassed. âI⦠Iâll go change.â
Luckily, she had left a spare set of clothes there.

âFollow me.â Tyler took Audreyâs hand and led her toward a nearby restroom. While walking, he made a phone call. âBring the things I left in the car to the restroom on the third floor.â
âOkay, Mr. Russell. Please wait a moment.â
Audrey stood to the side, thinking of the unfinished conversation they had just had. She decided to bring it up again. âTyler, you have many ways to seek revenge against me. Why did you choose this one?â
Tyler raised an eyebrow in response. âWhat do you think?â
Before Audrey could speak, Tyler continued, âIt definitely isnât because I like you.â
Hearing that, she bit her tongue.
At that moment, a woman approached them.
âMr. Russell, here are the things you asked for, the woman said.
Tyler nodded toward Audrey, ordering, âGive them to her.â
The young woman handed a bag to Audrey.
âEven if they are my parents, you canât embarrass me in front of them,â Tyler said calmly. âGo change.â
Audrey hesitated for a few seconds before taking the bag and entering the restroom.
As Audrey went inside, Tyler took a few steps to the side. âThose two people who were giving her a hard time in the private room submitted their resumes to the Russell Group a few days ago, right?â,
âYes, and they both passed the initial selection. If nothing unexpected happens, they will be hired officially,â the woman replied.
Tyler sneered. âThey are not qualified to work at the Russell Group.â
Zoey Dixon instantly understood what Tyler meant. âI sec.â

Audrey finished changing her clothes and hesitated for a moment before using the cosmetics from the bag. She was naturally beautiful so she didnât need much makeup. A little touchâup was enough to make her look perfect.
As Audrey looked at herself in the mirror, she became absentâminded. It seemed like she hadnât dressed up like this in a long time. She had almost forgotten what it felt like to wear makeup.
âAudrey, are you ready?â Tylerâs voice came from outside the door.
Audrey snapped back to reality and turned to walk out.
âIt fits you well,â Tyler commented as he looked at Audrey.
âHow did you knowâ¦â Audrey began to ask.
âLook at your figure. Itâs easy to tell at a glance,â he interrupted.
Audrey remained silent.
As they approached the door of the private room, Audrey heard familiar laughter coming from inside. She furrowed her eyebrows slightly. âIs Amelia here too?â she thought.
Back in the day, when Audrey and Tyler were âfighting against each other,â Amelia did everything she could to turn them against each other.
They were once evenly matched, but because of Amelia, Audrey became the unforgivable wicked woman, while Tyler became the âvictim.â
Moreover, it was widely known that Amelia had feelings for Tyler. However, after he went abroad for further studies, Amelia quickly moved on.
If Amelia found out that the person Audrey was going on a blind date with was Tyler, Audrey wondered how Amelia would react.
âWhat are you thinking?â A warm hand suddenly held Audreyâs hand, and a deep voice sounded in her ear.
Startled, Audrey took a step back, accidentally stepping on Tylerâs foot. As a result, the door to the private room was pushed open
The conversation inside abruptly stopped.
Tyler wrapped his arm around Audreyâs shoulder in a natural way and greeted the people inside,
So weâre late.â

âTyler?â Amelia looked at the two of them. âHow⦠how did you end up together?â
Tyler walked in with Audrey. âWhy canât we be together â
A hint of embarrassment flashed across Ameliaâs face. âNo, I meanâ¦â
Tyler ignored Amelia and introduced Audrey to his father, James Russell, and mother, Hannah Russell, who were sitting on the side. âMom, Dad, this is Audrey.â
Hannah nodded with a smile. âIndeed, just as you describedâ¦â
âMom, Audrey has had a busy day and is a little hungry. Letâs cat and chat, Tyler interrupted Hannah and led Audrey to a seat.
âYou and Tyler have known each other for a long time, havenât you?â Emma asked in a lowered voice.
Audrey replied concisely. âShe used to be my classmate.â
Emmaâs smile deepened. âThen it must be fate. I was just discussing your wedding date with Hannah. You can get married this year.â
Audrey furrowed her brows. âI havenât agreedâ¦
âTyler, so you and Audrey were classmates?â said Emma as she cut Audrey short and turned to Tyler.
Tyler glanced at Audreyâs face. âYes, I only found out yesterday that Audrey was the I went on a blind date with.â
Emma said with a smile, âYou two really have a connection.â
Tyler nodded. âIndeed, we have a connection.â
âI also think itâs quite a connection. Amelia seemed to have forgotten her previous embarrassment and chimed in, âMy sister used to bully Tyler with her friendsâ¦â
âBully Tyler?â Hannah looked at Amelia in surprise.
Amelia nodded. âYes, Mrs. Russell. Back in the dayâ¦â
âWho are you?â Ameliaâs words were interrupted by Tyler.
Sheâs Audreyâs sister,â Emma explained.
Tyler raised an eyebrow. âI didnât realize that.â
Amelia thought Tyler had forgotten about her and explained, âWhen my sister and her friends were bullying you, it was I who helped out. Donât you remember?â
