Chapter 2 - The Gift

My eyes shot open when I heard my alarm phone was ringing, Sitting up and streching my arms. It felt so good. The bathroom's door opened and Noor stood with fresh face.

"You want to pray together?" she asked and smiled.

"Of course." I got up and picking up my clothes, running towards the bathroom to take a bath and wudhu.

"Assalamualaikum warahmatullah," my head moved towards my right shoulder.

"Assalamualaikum warahmatullah." Then my head goes to the left side as the end of our pray.

If felt so nice and fresh after the prayer. It's gave you the relax felt. Then I stripped from my prayer clothes, folding the prayer mat before put it over the rack. Turning around I saw my roommate, Noor walked towards her bed and sit on it.

"Hey, Noor you want to join me for a shopping today." I knew that today is the day off because its sunday.

"Hurmmm,sure."

"Great, we will be going before afternoon." I said excitedly.

"Okay." she said and smiled.

Suddenly my stomach grumbling. I covered my stomach with both of my arms. "Are you hungry?" she said while laughing.

I just grinned at her.

"Well let's go to take a breakfast. I'm hungry too." she chirped excitedly.

"Okay." I picked my black hijab and pinned it neatly over my head to cover my hair.

"Come on." I pulled Noor's arm after I saw her finished to wear her hijab neatly, stepping out from our room and looked around but it's still very quiet.

Of course because it's still early in the morning Zahra. I muttered to myself.

"Noor I'm going to go my friend's room first." She nodded and swipped the cards to lock our room's door.

I walked towards Rose's room and knocked it. My eyebrow furrowed when there's no one answering it. She must be still sleeping but she's always woke up for this hour to exercise in the morning.

I knocked it twice more until the door opened and accidentally knocked over Rose's forehead. "Auchh." she glared and covered her forehead before my knuckles hit her for the second time.

"Opps, sorry." I pulled my hands down to my side and giggling.

"What do you want?"she still glaring at me.

I smiled at her and throwing my arms to give her a bear hug. "Morning babe! " I said excitedly and she was pushing me but I didn't budge at all.

She groaned and just surrender. "Yeah good morning." she patted my back and rolled her eyes.

My nose wrinkled and sniffed her body. "You stink!" I said and pulled out of her arms.

"Of course, I'm just coming home from the exercise and want to take a bath but you knocked my door before I can." she rolled her eyes and huffed.

"Good,now go take your shower. My roommate and I will waiting for you at the lobby downstair." I said innocently.

"Are you just...?Are you just ordering me right now?" her eyes widen and she looked at me as if she didn't believed my words.

"No." I said and then giggling.

She pushed my arms and pinched it. "Ouch, it hurts." I rubbed my arms to get rid of the pain. She rolled her eyes and closed the door right at my face.

"Rose we will wait for you downstair so you gotta hurry!" I shouted through her door.

I turned my body aroundand I saw Noor leaning against the wall. "Let's go Noor and sorry for waiting,"

She just nodded and smile.

It's already afternoon. I'm glad that Noor and Rose already close to each other.

"Come on,Zahra." Noor's voice snapped me from my thoughts.

"Yeah lets go." I picked up my purse and walking towards Noor excitedly.

She shook her heads and smiled at my behaviour. When we stepped out from our rooms, the left side of our door also opened.

We saw that Rose also already with her skinny black jeans,white tank top and dark blue cardigan. I link Rose and Noor's arm with my both of my arms and walked towards the elevator.

Stepping out from Rose's car, I looked at the sight infront of me. The mall was bigger and taller than I thought. I can't wait to shop around the shopping mall.

We entered the mall, our eyes widen and became awe because the inside was really spacious. I think that this mall must be at least a dozen of level.

It's really high and wide.

"Errr, hello Ara, Noor back to the earth." Rose clicked her finger in front of our face.

I put my arms over Rose and Noor shoulder, started to walk into a shop and the others. Rose and Noor already bought some gifts for their family when they back home just a few of weeks more.

I bought some clothes and perfume just for myself first. I will bought souvenirs for my family later because I still have enough time for that.

"I'm hungry." I said to them and pouted. "Really Ara,you just ate an icecream just now." Rose said and narrowed her eyes at me.

Hey don't blame me, I love food very much.

"Come on guys." I looked at them with pleaded eyes. Before Rose can spoke we heard an announcement from our back.

"Ladies and gentlemen we will give a great prize who ever will win the lucky draw, so.... don't miss the chance."a young woman talking into a microphone outside of a shop.

It's must be for a promotion.

"Guys lets.....,"before I wanted to finish my words, Rose and Noor were already running towards the shop.

WITHOUT me.

I groaned and picked up my shopping bag, started to chase them. My heart still beating fastly to catch up some air when I stopped beside them. It must be because of my lack of doing exercises.

"Okay everyone so pick up a piece of paper that contain of a number for you." the woman started to give us some instruction.

A man walked towards people, holding a big bowl that filled with a lot of piece of paper. I picked up a paper randomly and hoped that I'm lucky enough to win a prize.

"Okay, has everyone already take your own number?"

"Yes!"people shouting excitedly.

The woman started to pick up a number. My heart pounded against my rib cage.

"And the number goes to......73,"

As soon as the woman said the number, a woman with blonde hair stepping out from the crowd and took her prize. The woman pick up the number repeatedly and some people win the prize.

"Let's go home we're not going to win the prize. "Rose sighing and despaired.

"No wait,this is for the last prize." I said and started to pray and hopefully I will win it.

"Okay this is the last number, the prize will be special because you will get a food vouchers to eat food in our restaurant a months for free."

Even some people not interested of the prize but as soon as the woman said the food vouchers my body become spirited to win it.

Me. me, me, me.

I said to myself and looked at the woman that wanted to opened the paper. "And the lucky number goes to...66,"

My shoulder slumped down and I gave up because of my number is 99. "Zahra thats your number!"Noor said while cheering.

"Yeah Ara that's your number! " I looked at Rose confusingly then she groaned and took out my number.

"You're looking at it upside down, it's really 66,"

"Really!" I snatched the number back from Rose grasp and looked at it.

It's really 66!

"Now go take the vouchers so we can eat for free."Rose said to me and wiggling her eyebrow.

Yeah!! Eat!!!

It's already been the second weeks I'm practical at this Hospital. I didn't have any time to rest or sleep at all. It's already two days I can't fell asleep and I'm really tired.

Sighing, I pushed the button of coffee machine. I waited it until the sound of the tin falling down and took it before drank all of.

I took a seat at the bench and looked infront of me to see cars passes by. Sitting at the outside of the hospital was really good because I can felt the fresh air after all the worked.

I put the tin beside me and closed my eyes to inhale deeply the air. A small smile tug across my lips.

"Doctor Zahra!!" a manly voice snapped me from my thoughts. And there's the man or should I say Doctor Nick.

I groaned when I saw him again because he liked to disturbme and made me annoyed to him. He was always annoying me because he can't stopped talking and blabbering.

We've known each other at the first day of my courses. He was the first to one to greet me but I didn't took any interest at all.

Why did I have to meet him??

But I have to admit he had that good looking face. He have the blonde hair and green eyes that always shining when the sun lightning onto him.

"What?"

"Wow don't be so angry darling."he said and gave me his mischievous looked. I huffed and stood up to face to face with him. Or should I said face to face with his neck only.

He was very tall and I barely came into his chin. Out of no where he was patting my covered head and smiled widely.

Did he just patting my head??

I glared at him and stepped at his left foot. "Ouch,its hurt,"he said and bending down while holding his feett.

"What do you want,Doctor?"

"You dont have to call me Doctor, its Nick for you."he said and winked.

Really this man.

"Whatever,Nick." I mocked his name and huffed.

He chuckled and grinned widely. Suddenly he held my right arm and walked with me behind him following his fast steps.

Seriously!

"Hey,where are we going!" I struggled from his grasp but he didn't budge at all.

"Canteen. Let's go to eat."

As soon as he said the word 'eat' my stomach growling loudly. I totally forgot to eat. I looked at my watch and it's already lunch time.

"See, the monster is very angry because you don't give her food

" he said while laughing.

I liked this side of him because he always took care of me. He always bought some food for me when I'm really busy until forgot to have my lunch or dinner.

"Okay, lets go. But can you please let go my arm. I'm not a little girl that will be dissapear any time. I can walk on my own you know." I groaned and glared at him.

"Of course you're a little girl, my little girl. "he winked at me while smirking but let go my arm. I shook my head and clears my throat at his words just now.

"Come on,I'm hungry." I walked passed him towards the canteen. I heard him chuckling behind me and then he's on my right walking side by side with me.

After the lunch we're going back for our work. Right now I'm checking one of the patient that was having Hypertensive heart disease. It was because of the High blood pressure of unknown origin (primary hypertension) or caused by (secondary hypertension) certain specific diseases or infections, such as tumor in the adrenal glands, damaged to or diseased of the kidneys or their blood vessels.

The high blood pressure may overburden the heart and blood vessels and cause disease.

"Hi, how are you feeling today?" I asked the patient or should I said a young woman that connect to the heart beat monitor and the face mask.

Even she's still in coma but I knew the person who wasin coma have really sensitivity of sound. So, every word or any sound they will heard it every second.

I smiled to her even she didn't saw it. After finished checking her, I stepped out from the room towards my office room. I sat down and checked all the result of all my patient.

Then someone was knocked my door and I'm sure that must be Nick that always disturbed me at this time. But it's weird he never knocked my door though.

"Come in."

"Uhh, Doctor Zahra someone send you a bouqet of red rose." a soft voice make me looked up from the paper. I relieved because that person wasn't Nick but a nurse.

My eyebrow furrowed at her hand that was holding a bouqet of red rose.

"Ouh,thank you." I got up and walked towards her and took the flower from her grasp after she handing it to me. She nodded and turned around to the door.

"Wait!"

She stopped at her tracks and looked at me. "Do you know who send this?" I asked her, confused slightly.

"I don't know Doctor because it's just the flower boy who sending it."

I nodded and thought who was giving me these red rose. "Ouh, anyway thanks again."I smiled to her. She smiled back and walked out from my room.

I looked at the beautiful red rose and brought it to my nose before inhaled the red rose deeply. It's really fragrant and still fresh. I walked towards my desk and sit on my chair.

Looking at it once again, I'm still confused who ever gave this flower to me was really mysterious. I shivered at the thought. I shook my head and continued my work again.

I picked up the paper under the flower and accidently the flower falling down from my desk.

Oh no!! I didn't wanted to ruin it.

Sighing, I bend down to pick up the flower and my eyes found a piece of paper that falling down from the side of the red rose onto the floor.

There's note from this flower.

Picking up the paper, I put the red rose on my desk again before opened it. My eyes widen and a gasped came out from my lips.

Hi baby doll.

Don't too close to the boy because I don't like sharing what's mine.

You're only mine.
