chapter 24: My Savior

Parker's POV

"He seems like a good child, well behaved and happy to be around with. I'm so happy you guys decided to adopt him. From the little moments I have seen he seems to like you a lot already." Father says as we watch Moon playing with pup and berry.

Few minutes ago we finished eating our lunch and sat in the living room. That was when Moon saw our puppies and started playing with them. They seem to be bonded well and the puppies seem to like him as well because they didn't bite him or bark at him. Rather straight up starting licking him all over his face and starting playing with him right away.

When I hear father's words, I kinda feel proud of myself and Kaino for making this decision which turned out to be great and also making everyone happy. Though I had the thought, it's Kaino who helped me to actually realise it and suggested we adopt Moon. He made me make the decision. That's why I'm proud of my husband. So, I nod at father agreeing to what he said with a smile on my face. We just continue to watch Moon and the puppies playing while having some chats and laughter's in between.

Sometime later I feel a little tap on my knee and turn to find Moon standing near my leg. I frown a little and raise my brow thinking what happened.

"What happened, Moon?" I ask him while pulling him up and onto my lap.

"Puppies sleeping." He replies while cuddling closer to me.

I look past him and find the puppies sleeping. When I look back at Moon, he let's out a small yawn which makes me think maybe he would need a nap too. Don't know when he woke up today with being excited about meeting us and coming here. And now he was playing until he got tired. So, a nap for sometime sounds good.

"Moon, would you like to sleep for sometime?" I query him to which he nods at me.

So I stand up with him in my hands and carry him to his room, which is now completely ready for use.

"I'll put him to sleep and be back." I tell the others in the room and our parents nod at me while Kaino gets up before following me.

Walking into his room, I place him on the bed and help him to lie down. His eyes are almost closed and I pat his back few times before he drift off into complete sleep. I then pull over the blanket and cover it on him. Kaino just stands at the end of the bed and watches me doing this. When I make sure Moon is comfortable and sleeping well, I walk to Kaino and together we leave the room after closing the door but leaving it ajar so that we would know if he were to wake up. This being a new place to him, he might get scared when he wakes up and finds him in new room.

When we go back to the living room, we sit with our parents and continue our conversation. The whole day goes by quickly and as it starts nearing to dinner time, mother and I start preparing food a bit early because they said they would be going home. Moon woke up few minutes ago and he seems grumpy, I think it's because of sleep. I gave him a glass of warm milk and fruits for him to eat. He didn't want to sit in the living room with Kaino and father, so I brought him to the kitchen and made him sit on the chair. He's having his milk and eating fruits as he watch us cooking dinner.

After we're done cooking, I set the dishes on the table while mother goes to call Kaino and father. Our dinner goes in the same way as lunch, after which my parents leave. We bid them goodbyes and once they leave, Kaino and I head back into the house.

"Kaino, look after Moon for sometime I'll take a shower and get fresh up." I tell to Kaino who nods at me.

I take a look at Moon who's sitting next to pup and rubbing his back as pup laid down on his bed. Heading to our room, I walk directly to the bathroom and strip off my clothes before I stand under the water and take a shower which gives me comfort and makes me feel relaxed after one long tiring day. After a warm shower, I walk out and put on night clothes before drying my hair and going out.

Hearing my footsteps, Kaino turns and looks up at me before getting up and walking past me, going into our room. Knowing he's going to wash up, I look at Moon and pup to see pup sleeping with how gently Moon is rubbing his back. I walk to him and sit in front of him on my knee.

"Would you like to take a bath before sleeping?" I gently query him while caressing his hair.

"Yes, like to." He replies and hugs me so I lift him up and take him to his room.

I fill the bathe tub with warm water and place him in. I bathe him quickly and pull him out before wrapping him in a towel and bringing him into the room. Drying him off, I wear him the new set of pajama' we brought and get him ready to bed. Just when I finish dressing him, Kaino walks into the room and sits next to me.

"I ask question?" Moon says as he sits in front of us, I was going to make him lie down but he sat instead.

"Yes, what is it?" I tell him to ask while brushing his hair to one side.

"What I call you?" He questions and I stop my movement for a second because I didn't think of it before, of what he's going to address us as.

However, it didn't take much time for me to know what the answer is. Now that we adopted him, he's our child and Kaino and I are his parents. I smile before I answer him.

"Now you're our child, so you can call me papa and Kaino as dad." I reply and glance at Kaino who nods at me with a smile.

"Real? I like it." He smiles a goofy smile at my words.

"Yes, really." I confirm with a chuckle at his reaction, "now let's get into sleep, it's getting late and you must be tired as today has been kinda hectic unlike your other days."

He nods and I help him to lay down before covering him with blanket. Suddenly, he frowns and tries to get up when I go to leave.

"What's wrong?" I ask him confused.

"You no sleep here?" He questions me worriedly.

"No, this is your room. I have my own room where I sleep with Kaino. It's just the next door to this room. If you have any troubles during the night, you can come to me." I tell him.

"But I wan to sleep with papa." He says making my heart skip a beat when he said papa.

I recovery immediately and take in his words, he wants to sleep with me?

"But this is your room, Moon. We arranged everything for you. Don't you like it?" I state feeling a little sad. Even after doing our best in making this room, he doesn't seem to like to stay here.

"I love room but I love to sleep with papa, please." He urges, moving over and hugging me.

I catch him and turn to Kaino.

"Maybe he's scared to sleep alone as it's a new place to him. Or maybe he just wants to be with you. We can being him to our room and let him sleep there until he becomes familiar with the room." Kaino suggests and I nod at him, liking his idea.

I get up with moon and walk out of his room. Kaino follows us after turning off the lights and closes the door behind us. Stepping into our room, I lie Moon on the bed and he scrawls over to the other corner and I let him be as that side is connected to the wall so he won't fall down or anything. When I go to get up, I see Kaino getting in and locking the door.

"Kaino, I didn't lock the front door nor switched the lights off." I say because I was the last person that stayed in the living room but didn't shut down the things.

"Don't worry, I locked the doors and turned off the lights. Let's get to sleep." He responds while walking to me and helps me lay on the bed before laying next to me.

He turns the bed lamp on after switching off the lights. I feel small hand holding around my waist and hugging my body. Looking down, I see Moon clinging to me as he moves closer to me. I sigh as I turn to him and hold him while gently patting his back. That helps him to drift off to sleep quickly. However, I can't seem to sleep. Knowing that he's asleep, I go to pull away from him but he don't let me. His grip on me is strong and when I made the attempt, he made a displeased sound so stopped my attempt to move from him.

How much ever I try, I can't sleep for some odd reasons. I glance at the clock and find out it's already past midnight. I then turn my head and gaze at Kaino who already sleep. I sigh yet again.

Usually, Kaino holds me while sleeping. Being in his embrace makes me feel warm and gives me comfort. It puts me to sleep immediately and I wake up in the morning without any issues during the night. We have been sleeping like that for so long that it actually became a habit.

"Can't sleep?" Kaino's voice makes me snap out of my thoughts and I look at him instantly.

"You still awake?" I say surprised as I thought he's already sleeping, "How do you know?" I mumble in low voice so not as to disturb moon.

"I know everything about you." He replies and somehow that makes me feel happy.

Shouldn't I feel creepy if someone knows everything about me? My each and every movement, my thoughts and my interests? It should. However, with Kaino it doesn't feel creepy because he's not just someone. He's my comfort zone and solution to my any problem, whether it being a small or big issue. He's my husband who knows me better than anyone, in fact knows me better than myself. He's my savior.

"Come here." He whispers and opens his arms for me.

I smile and untangle myself from Moon. And this time, he didn't make any resistant as he's in deep sleep unlike before when he just went into sleep. Scooting close to Kaino, I get into his embrace and I lay my head on his chest while he hugs me securely. His other hand gives me gentle strokes on my shoulder and he peppers a small kiss on my head. I snuggle closer to him as it makes me feel so content and my smile not leaving my lips.

"Good night, Kaino." I say and tighten my grip on his chest of his shirt.

"Good night." He replies and presses another kiss on my forehead.

And just like that, in no time I slip into peaceful sleep in the warmth of Kaino's embrace.
