Loving her hurts

“Even though it hurts but it was better to let her go. Yet to see her

happily engaged and ready to be mated with someone else it really kills

me because I love her so much.’

“Stop drinking Dante” Jem tries to confiscate the vodka from Dante, he

moves his hand away while Jem tries to reach for the alcohol.

After Daniella accepted his rejection from years ago when they were

both teens Dante stood there with hurt and sorrow. So he ended up

drinking vodka without ice or anything to change it to make it less

strong. He has found himself a place near the cliff in his territory and

drank his sorrow away.

“Dante she’s gone! You can't keep doing this to yourself, you have to"-

he didn’t quite finish as Dante curse at him in his growls. He stumbles

to get up and away from Jem who was annoying him “stay away Beta”

warns him then he walks towards the edge of the cliff.

“It would be nice if we never have mates” Dante stretches his arms wide

open going near to the cliff. “I wouldn't have a broken heart then” he

scoffs taking another sip “she really did choose someone else over me,”

he drinks again.

“Bro, you can always choose someone else, you can always love

someone else” he laughs lightly.

“Can you Jem?" this caught him off guard “can you love someone else

when your mate is right in front of you?” “no” Jem answers in a whisper.

“It was my mistake to rejected her, my mistake to hurt her physically

and emotionally but I didn't do it with my whole heart” Dante began to

pour out his feelings to Jem “our pack lives were far more important

that I couldn't risk it, so I rejected her then compare her to that good

for nothing Alexis.”

The alcohol has really made him spoke out the things he couldn't get

out of his chest through the past two years. It has taken a toll for him to

try and be the Dante he was now and once Dani shows up he was back

to Dante who was left by his mate for another male wolf.

He may have tried to married Carla just to move on but once they open

up a day ago about themselves to each other they knew that their

proposed marriage was a mistake so they both decided to call it off.

He was surprised to know that Carla already found her mate

unfortunately he was happily mated to someone else. She never told

him his name and he didn’t even push it to ask her about it. It was a

good decision for them as they need to really heal themselves before

going into something deeper like this.

“Jem I care so much about her that I feel like not living anymore. I think

I am dying here...I don't think I can see her happy with another wolf

knowing it's not me” he grips on to his head then beat on his heart.

His thoughts and words were rumbling around that sometimes Jem was

kind of confusing but he tries to understand his Alpha and his pain.

He started to sob up taking another sip “the pack’s safety was

important I didn't know she was hurt by others.

When I met her I thought she was loved by all. I mean you should have

seen the way she does that origami while smiling. The smile she has I

thought she was fine” he stood up again.

Turning around to Jem “but I was so wrong, my mate was abused,

mistreated and I added on to her pain by rejecting her and torturing

her afterward.”

Jem's eyes widen when he saw his Alpha at the edge of the cliff “I

thought I was doing okay Jem. I know I was a wreck in those two years

and when I came out of it gradually to do okay and started to live again

she just shows up. Fuck” he curses out loud.

“I want her but she’s engaged and now she’s going to get married.

There's no way back for me, so goodbye Jem tell her I will always love

her. I fucking love her so much that it hurts to see her married”

Jem was quick enough to catch Dante's when he jumps off of the cliff

unexpectedly without thinking to change into his wolf. He can survive

but the possibility of him walking again could not be guarantee.

He pulls him back up making him fall back on his back and Dante on

his right side he tries to catch his breath.

Jem was angry he turns to lecture on Dante not even care if he's his

Alpha or not but he found him lightly snoring beside him.

He lay back down on the ground watching the night sky complaining

about how the stars and the moon above look beautifully when yet his

Alpha and friend is in pain tonight.
