Chapter 18

Tutu

Shortie & Knight

*Maximus*

"Maxy! Maxy! Maxy! I wanna be in a YouTube video with you and Amy! I wanna be in one because I wanna be famous like you!" A high-pitched voice screamed as they jumped in my bed.

I felt something move slightly in my arms which caused me to open my eyes. Amy was stretching and looking over at Ainsley- who was jumping on my bed still- in confusion. I groaned slightly at the rude awakening but smiled nonetheless, since I adored my baby sisters.

Speaking of which...

Noelani burst through the doors while screaming about something. Her hair was in its natural dark brown waves, and her grayish green eyes were shining brightly. Ainsley's red hair was a mess of waves as well, except hers were more curly, and her eyes were as bright as fresh grass in the morning.

"I wanna be in a video!!" Noelani cheered loudly, causing Amy to groan quietly.

I guess she didn't like waking up that way either.

"Girls, we're kinda tired right now. How about later? Amy doesn't even have any clothes with her to wear," I said groggily.

I'm so glad Amy's face is in my chest so she doesn't have to smell my morning breath.

They both whined. "But we barely get to see Amy, Max. It's like you don't want us near her!" Noelani pouted.

"Or like you don't want to be near us," Ainsley muttered angrily.

I frowned at their words. Is that what they think? That don't want to hang out with them? I love these girls to death, I would never want them to think that I don't want to be with them.

"That's not what I mean, you guys." They looked up at me skeptically. "I love you to the moon and back, I really do, but I'm just tired right now. You know I would love for you guys to be in a video, you're some of my favorite people in the whole world, but it's just not the best time."

Noelani looked like she was about to cry. "But Max, if you love us then you would try and make it happen. That's what mommy says. Daddy tried and now he lives in America instead of Italy. You should try too. If Daddy came to America, you can come from your bed."

"And if you don't, then I guess we're not your favorites. Because I do stuff for you all the time, like not wake you up by jumping on you every morning, or not putting salt in your drinks. I could start doing all those things, because I kinda want to, but I won't because you don't want me to. I just wanna be in a video with you guys. It doesn't even have to be that crazy either," Ainsley ranted.

I gaped at the smart ass seven year olds in front of me. "Damn..." was all I could say.

"Come on knight, just let them be in a video. They're your baby sisters," Amy muttered sleepily.

I huffed in defeat. "Now I have three of my favorite people asking me to do this? I can't say no to that!" I groaned playfully.

The girls giggled and hopped on top of Amy and I. "Can we do it?" Noelani asked hopefully.

I shrugged. "Since I love you so much, I'll do it."

Noelani cheered while Ainsley slapped a hand over my mouth. "If you really loved us, you would've covered your mouth so I wouldn't have to smell your awful breath," Ainsley fake gagged. "I'm disgusted!"

Amy giggled into my chest. "I think we should go and brush our teeth then, if that's the case."

I thanked Audrey for giving me a new pair of underwear and some clothes, telling her that I would bring them back to school tomorrow after washing them... except for the underwear, that's kinda gross. Especially since it was a new lingerie set, I didn't want to give her back a used thong... not cool, even if it was washed. She said I could keep the clothes since they were too small on her and they- her words not mine- "looked better on your hot ass instead of my flat one". I mean, I wasn't going to keep them at first, but when she said that I knew I didn't really have a choice to say no. She called my ass hot, it's not like I was just going to give them back to her!

Anyway, after that interesting interaction, Max had set up a place to film in his room with his phone and a tripod. He didn't have a camera since he wasn't into stuff like that, but his phone was the newest model at the time so the camera was good. I was wearing the black leggings and cropped pink sweater that Audrey gave me while he was wearing some black skinny jeans and a grey sweatshirt. Ainsley had decided to wear a blue hoodie, a pink tutu, and some pink leggings with blue Polk-a-dots. Noelani wore a black noodle-strapped shirt, a brown cardigan, and some grey leggings. They looked like total opposites in their outfits, but adorable nonetheless.

Once we were all settled on Max's bed, we started the video.

"Hey guys!" We all greeted in unison.

"It's shortie," I greeted.

"And knight," Max greeted.

"And we're the special guests!" Ainsley and Noelani greeted.

"Today we are going to have these two cuties control our lives. We are in our senior year of high school, Max and I, so we kind of want to go back to being kids again. And since these two are only seven-" Ainsley interrupted me.

"I'm almost eight!" She corrected.

"Yes, sorry. And since these two are seven and 'almost eight', Max and I decided that they would be the perfect people to help us go back to being kids."

"Now, being a kid now is definitely different from when we were kids, so I'm kind of curious as to what you guys do on a daily basis," Max turned to them.

Ainsley smacked her lips and cleared her throat dramatically. "Well, my schedule is very crazy, if I'm being honest. I have," she paused and counted on her fingers, "six siblings and it's hard to live with them. Especially the twins. They are so full of themselves!"

"And like you aren't," Noelani scoffed.

Ainsley put her hand on her sister's mouth. "Don't listen to her," she said to the camera. "Anyway, I love my family, but the boys are annoying. Alexander is always so tired and boring, the twins are always obsessing over some Instagram model, and Max is always talking about Amy! I mean, every morning I have to listen to all four of them being such boys. And then, there's school with this chick," she pointed to Noelani with her free hand. "I mean, there are so many boys in my class that just won't leave me alone! I came to school to learn here people! Not to flirt with a bunch a booger-pickers that still like eating glue!"

Noelani ripped Ainsley's hand off her mouth. "He asked for your schedule, not your struggles. Just because they both have an 's' doesn't mean that they're the same."

Max and I watched in amusement as they glared at each other. "Anyway," Ainsley growled out to Noelani with a pointed look, "after school Audrey or Alexander picks me and Noelani up-"

"It's 'Noelani and I'," Noelani muttered.

"And we come home. I have to do all of the loads of homework I get, change into some workout clothes, and go the the gym with Noelani and Audrey, except for Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. On those days Alexander takes us to the gym."

"Why are you guys working out?" Max asked with a chuckle.

"How else will we keep these muscles? The boys don't lose to me in arm wrestling for no reason," she said in a "duh" tone.

Max laughed and ruffled Ainsley's hair. "So what do you want to do first, Noelani?" He turned to his other sister.

Noelani smiled. "We haven't been to the gym in a bit, since the storm and stuff, so I say we go today!"

Max and I turned to each other and smiled. "Okay then, to the gym it is!"

"Wait! We have to get you guys in the right outfits first!" Ainsley said.

A few minutes later, Audrey has given me a Nike sports bra and some matching high-waisted Nike leggings. I decided to wear my shoes from the night before, which were some high-topped Vans. Max wore some Under Armour shorts with Nike running shoes. He decided that he didn't want to wear a shirt-which caused Ainsley and Noelani to gag and say how he should put a shirt on. I was enjoying the view but I didn't say anything about it.

Noelani had found a way to get Alexander to film for us at the gym. He didn't seem all too excited about it, but when Noelani kissed his cheek in thanks he smiled. I could tell that he loved his baby sisters, all of his siblings actually, and would do anything the girls wanted.

In the car, Ainsley, Alexander, and I sat in the back while Noelani sat up front with Max. Max has asked Alexander not to film in the car, since nothing interesting was going to happen inside, and asked him to sit in the back since Noelani wanted to be next to him. He only did as Max said because Noelani gave him puppy eyes.

"How are you so pretty, Amy?" Ainsley whispered as the others sang the song playing on the radio.

I blushed. "What? I-I don't know. I don't think I'm all that pretty anyway."

She gasped. "What? You're beautiful! You've got thousands of likes on your Instagram pictures and comments telling you how pretty you are!"

I chuckled. "People do that on the internet. When they see someone post a nice picture of themselves, they say nice things. I do that all the time to my friends."

She rolled her eyes. "I just think you're being modest. Do you think that you could teach me to be that pretty?"

I bit my bottom lip. "I don't even know how to be that pretty myself. You're already beautiful Ainsley, you don't need me to tell you how to be pretty."

She shook her head. "I disagree, but whatever. I'll just figure it out from your Instagram."

I laughed and undid my seatbelt since we had already made it to the gym. I was about to open my door to get out when Max opened it for me. I smiled and got out myself. I went on my tippy toes and reached up to out my arms around his neck. He chuckled, closed the door, and bent down so I could reach him. I wrapped my arms around his neck and kissed him on the cheek.

"So much effort for such a little kiss," Max teased.

I huffed. "Not my fault you're a giant and I'm a dwarf."

"A hot dwarf," he mumbled to himself.

I giggled and kissed his cheek again before letting go and walking into the gym with the others. Ainsley and Noelani settled by the treadmills and the bench presses, since that's where the least amount of people were. Alexander turned on Max's phone and started to record.

"Okay, Max is going first!" Ainsley ordered.

Noelani took off her cardigan and tied it around her waist. "Since you're a boxer, you've got to stay super strong. So for this exercise, we're going to make you do thirty push-ups with Ainsley and I on your back!"

Max smirked and got down into push-up position. "Okay, let's get this party started."

Ainsley rolled up her sleeves and plopped into her big brother's back. Noelani rolled her eyes as her sister's excitement and carefully sat down on Max's back before crossing her legs and flicking back the hair in her shoulder. Max started to do the push-ups with ease and I gaped at his strength.

No wonder he can pick me up easily, this man is like Hercules on steroids! I thought to myself.

Noelani and Ainsley were laughing and started playing a game of rock-paper-scissors. Noelani kept on winning for some reason and Ainsley was starting to get a little angry. But they seemed like they were having fun and were very disappointed when Max told them he was done. They both got off hesitantly, Ainsley even going as far as wiping the fake sweat off her forehead, and turned to me.

"Since I like you, I'm gonna give you an easy one," Ainsley started.

"We; since we like her. I'm the one who came up with the exercise anyway," Noelani corrected.

Max raised his hand from his seat on the floor. "When did you come up with these exercises anyway? We were with you the whole time to get here."

"We're psychic," Ainsley answered.

Noelani smacked her sister upside the head. "It would be telepathic, you idiot! How in the world can you be older than me when I'm clearly the smart one?" She turned to Max. "And we talked about it as you were all getting dressed- not that it was important. Anyway," she turned to the camera as Ainsley rubbed the back of her head. "we're gonna give Amy her exercise."

Ainsley nodded and turned to me. "You're gonna run on the treadmill for three minutes, but you have to do it on the highest speed you can."

I nodded. "Okay, I can do that."

Ainsley nodded and ushered Alexander to follow her over to the treadmill. She pulled him down and whispered something in his ear as Noelani grabbed my hand and pulled me over. Alexander chuckled at whatever it was his sister said and pressed some buttons on the machine.

"If I take you to the gym all the time, you should be able to do the settings in a treadmill," Alexander teased Ainsley.

Ainsley grabbed his collar and pulled him down so he was face-to-face with her. "I didn't ask you to talk! I asked you to film! I'm running a business here and with you making fun of me I'll lose my respect!"

Noelani pushed her sister away from her brother. "Shut up, you mafia leader. We're not in The Godfather. Next thing I know you'll be speaking in a Italian New York accent!"

"Stop assaulting me!" Ainsley growled. "Let me run this show in peace!"

I chuckled and got onto the treadmill and started running. They kept on bickering while Alexander just ignored them and filmed me. Max just kept his distance away from the girls and watched Alexander with a skeptical eye, but I pretended like I didn't notice it. After all, he could have been looking at him in a different way that I saw it.

"You know you can call me Andy, right?" Alexander said as he filmed me.

I raised an eyebrow. "What brings that up?"

He chuckled. "You always address me as Alexander and everyone calls you Amy. I'd at least think that you'd start calling me Alex or Xander."

I shrugged and kept up my pace. "I don't like assuming what people want to be called. People do it to me all the time."

"What do they call you?" He asked.

"Well, the bartender at Max and I's date called me 'Purple lady' for some reason. I don't even like purple that much, to be honest. I'm more of a pink and silver kind of gal. Anyway, some people even call me different stone names. I've been called Emerald and Ruby too many times to count. Some people call me by my middle name or last name. Some people call me cutie or honey-bunch. I hate both. I mean, I get that my name might be long, but at least come up with reasonable nicknames for me. I still can't get over the fact that all of third grade people kept calling me Topaz. I don't even look like a Topaz!" A timer interrupted me before I could continue my rant.

Alexander laughed and slowed down the treadmill for me. "It's funny watching you rant," he said with a slight chuckle.

I shrugged and slowed down my run into a light jog. "I am entertaining."

"Okay! Now that your exercise is over Amy, it's Max's turn," Ainsley said as I stepped off the treadmill. "Stand up Max! This one is about strength and sta-sta- how do you say it?" She turned to Noelani.

"Stamina," Noelani mumbled.

"Cool. Stamina. Noelani and I are going to cling onto your shins as you take three laps around this whole gym," Ainsley explained.

"So it's like me having weights on my shins, right?" Max wondered.

They nodded. "Yeah, sure," they said at the same time.

Max huffed and stood up from the floor. Once he was standing, Ainsley and Noelani ran over to him and cling onto his shins like little leeches. Sounded better in my head. Max chuckled and started walking around the gym, catching the attention of a few girls who sighed dreamily when they saw him interact with his sisters.

Girls like guys that are good with kids. It doesn't even matter if they aren't looking for a man, if they're into girls, or if they don't want kids. We like guys who can entertain a baby, it's the cutest thing in the world. Same thing with baby animals too, that's also adorable.

About an hour later, we were done with the gym and went back to their house. There, the girls wanted to do dress up with Max and Alexander. They wanted to put a tutu on Max but his hips were too wide so they had to put it around his neck. He looked like a wannabe duke from England or something. Then they put a bunch of pink lipstick on his lips and made him wear a big rainbow hair bow. For Alexander they did the same thing, except they made him wear Minnie Mouse ears. After that they made them all go to the grocery store to get supplies for a cake, where it was coincidentally packed, and asked Max to talk in an English accent to the cashier as he checked out his items. I just laughed the whole time and didn't say a word in protest.

It's not like saying anything would matter, the girls were the ones choosing what it was we did.

It was a fun day but after we went to the store, Max decided to end the video. I was a little sad since I wanted him to wear his amazing outfit all day, but I'd decided that he had suffered enough. Once the video had ended my mother called me and asked if I was going to come home from Max's house and since I knew my parents were worried, I had told them yes. I said my goodbyes and thanked Audrey and Elm a lot, before asking Max to drive me home.

"You know, I have a match next Saturday, do you think you could come?" Max asked as we drove to my place.

I nodded. "I'm sure my teachers won't mind if I miss a class so I can go and watch you," I assured. It wasn't competition season so it wasn't like I was really missing anything.

He frowned. "I don't want you to miss practice though," he mumbled.

I laughed and turned to him, only to see him frowning. He looked like a little kid who couldn't figure out a math problem.

"It's okay, knight. It's not even close to competition, I'll have a while until I need to be at every practice."

He sighed and smiled after a few seconds. "Okay." He smirked after a second of thought. "I'm so gonna win with my girl in the audience cheering for me."

I blushed at the thought of being his girl. I'd never been anyone's before and it felt really exciting.

"I'll give you a big kiss before your match, for some extra good luck," I said without really thinking.

Max blushed. "Can I get one after?" He asked playfully.

I rolled my eyes. "Of course, that's a given. If you lose, then I'll kiss you to make you feel better. If you win, then I'll kiss you as another trophy."

"I like the sound of that."
