Chapter 13
From a Vampire's Brother to a Human's Mate (Book 2: Completed)
Anthonyâs POV
âLetâs not talk about that anymore,â I looked down at her and I couldnât help the feeling that filled me.
She was amazing. Everything about her was just perfect because in fact her life was the furthest thing from perfect. Though Ian abused her physically she was strong and with stood it for four years now. The emotional abuse had taken its toll on her though and I planned on fixing that, once she was mine.
She should never have to go through this again.
She relaxed into my arms and smiled up at me almost sleepily. It was adorable she almost reminded me of a child the way she curled into me like this.
I loved every moment of looking into her loving eyes.
I sat there with her in my arms and I realized: this is what it felt like to have a mate . . . what it felt like being whole . . . finally.
There was no more of the physical and sexual in this moment. It was pure emotion and pure bliss. I never wanted to let her go.
âThank you for not leaving me alone tonight,â She sighed and laid her head on my bare chest. When he cheek brushed my skin a spark was ignited throughout my body. So much for no physical.
âDidnât I tell you I would never leave you alone?â I smiled breathing in her summery scent.
âHmm,â She breathed and I felt her lips pull into a smile.
I laid back pulling her with me so that we were laying across her bed.
âSo did you solve everything with your family problems?â She asked.
âUmm, not entirely, but thatâs nothing for you to worry about, Dawn. My family is strong. We can get through anything,â I nodded.
âWill I ever get to meet your family?â She asked resting her chin on my chest so that she was looking at me.
âIf you want to, you can come home with me anytime . . . just tell me when,â I smiled at her.
âYou serious?â She smirked.
âYes,â I nodded.
âOkay, then . . . now,â She replied.
âDo you have a vehicle?â I asked back quickly.
âYeah, donât you?â She asked confused.
âNo, but we can take yours. Come on,â I got up so she rolled off of me and on to the bed.
âWait, seriously?â She replied shocked.
âYeah, that is if you really want to go,â I smiled at her.
âWell, yeah,â She got off the bed. âJust give me a second.â She got up and picked something up off the floor and then rushed into the bathroom.
I laid back on her bed and closed my eyes for a second.
Completely surrounded by her scent my body instantly started to relax, but then again was set alive at the same time.
Suddenly I felt the bed slightly dip and I knew she was climbing on to the bed. I kept my eyes closed for a moment longer.
Then she shocked me being climbing over me so that she was straddling my hips. I felt her lay her chest against mine and brought our heads closer together.
Just as I was about to open my eyes and kiss her with everything I had, I felt her breath on my ear and I froze.
âOpen your eyes, Tony,â She whispered.
Instantly my eyes opened expectantly.
She sat back and smirked at me.
There she was, my mate, straddling me in nothing, but a lacey bra and thong that were red. My favorite color for lingerie. She smirked and rubbed herself against me and I knew she felt my painful erection that had appeared the moment she climbed on to me.
âWell?â She giggled lightly.
I could swear I was literally drooling over her exposed skin of her glorious body and especially of her neck.
âArenât you going to take me?â She flipped her hair off of her right shoulder completely revealing her neck.
âWhat?â I chocked out. How did she know?
âIâve known for a while. Julie told me,â She purred moving her hands up my bare chest as she leaned into me. âSo . . . show me your fangs, wolf-boy,â She nipped my ear and that was it.
I rolled over so that I was now on top of her. She smirked up at me as I felt my canines extend and then I leaned into her neck and bite down hard.
âTony!â She moaned, but I was so focused on the bite and the sweet, summery taste of her blood flowing into my mouth.
âTony, hello?â She moaned.
What?
I pulled away from her neck and looked down at her confused.
Suddenly she smiling pleasure filled face disappeared and I heard her voice again.
âTony?â It was a question.
Then I sat up with a gasp. I looked around confused.
I was in Dawnâs bed, but I was sitting up. I looked to my left and saw Dawn standing there, fully clothed in skinny jeans and a thing sweater over her tank top.
âTony, you are not bailing on me. You said that we could go to your house tonight,â She complained crossing her arms over her chest.
Oh shit, it was a dream! I fell asleep!
âYeah, no problem,â I mumbled rubbing my hands over my face shaking my head. âHoly shit.â
âYou okay?â She placed a hand on my arm.
âYeah, yeah, Iâm fine,â I stood. âLetâs go.â I nodded to her door and that was when I noticed her face. âWhere did your bruise go?â I asked shocked.
âMake-up is a powerful thing,â She smirked and then walked towards the door.
âNice,â I sighed and followed her.
âShit,â She stopped at her door.
âWhat?â I asked.
âMy mom will see us,â She complained as I heard the front door open.
âDawn!â Was called through the house.
âGo tell her that you arenât feeling well and your are going to take an early night and then come back up here,â I ordered.
âOkay,â She shrugged and then walked down the stairs.
âHey, sweetie,â Her mom said.
âHey, mom Iâm not feeling that well so I am going to just call it in for the night,â Dawn replied sleepily.
âOh, alright. Are you okay?â There was a pause. âYou donât feel warm.â She sounded concerned
âItâs more of a stomach thing. Itâs probably nothing, but Iâm tired and Iâm done with my homework so I am going to get comfy and sleep the night away. You know I have the dance so I have to catch up on my beauty sleep,â She sighed.
âYeah, okay. Well, good night, baby,â Her mother replied still concerned.
âNight, mom,â Dawn called and I heard her coming up the stairs.
âBeauty sleep?â I smirked when she walked through the door.
âShut up. Now how do we get out of here?â She asked with a slow smile.
âCome on,â I walked to the window.
âWhat?â She gasped. âYou maybe a freaking mountains and can step out a two story window, but normal people canât,â She grumbled.
âGet on my back,â I rolled my eyes at her.
âNo, I am not jumping out a window,â She shook her head stepping back.
âIâm not letting you back out of this, Dawn,â I teased and then I picked her up and held her to my chest.
âOh God,â She whined and held on to my neck tight, squeezing her eyes shut.
I tightened my arms around her and then took my leap out the window.
I landed on my feet with a gentle thud and bent my knees to absorb the shock. Then I stood straight and whispered to Dawn, âYou can open your eyes now.â
She took a breath and opened her eyes and then sighed.
I set her down gently, âDo you think we will be able to start your car without your mother hearing?â I asked.
âYes, I park in the street and my car is quiet,â She answered and started leading me around the house.
âKeys,â I stuck my hand out to her when we reached her white Cobalt sitting out at the end of her drive.
âWhat?â She looked at me shocked holding her keys to her chest.
âI know where I am going, you do not,â I raised an eyebrow at her.
She sighed and handed over the keys to me and I smirked and opened the passenger side door for her.
She got in and closed the door then got in the driverâs side and started the car. I took off to my house with a large smile on my face.
The dream was still on my mind and I couldnât help but peak a few glances over at Dawn, but she was simply staring out the window with a sleepy expression. I wanted to catch her watching me. For some reason I just really needed the physical evidence that she felt the same way I did, but not once in the multiple times I turned to her did I catch her staring back at me.
âSo why havenât you invited me to come over your house until now? I would have come sooner,â She turned her sleepy expression to me.
âThis may come as I bit of a shock to you, but we have only known each other for just over two weeks and for that whole time you had a boyfriend. Also, the first week you wanted nothing to do with me. Now, tell me, when exactly was I supposed to ask you over to my house?â I smirked.
âGood point,â She smiled back and then sighed leaning against the window, âI am just glad I finally get to meet your family.â
Yeah, my wonderful family. I rolled my eyes, but continued to drive.
