Chapter 30
Summon Of The Sword
Chapter 3o âIs Rachel, Willowâs best friend?â Sean was surprised. The world was so small sometimes. He remembered that Rachel was extremely competitive even though she was a woman.
Without any connections or background, she made many military achievements and got constant promotions with her own efforts.
She would not have had access to Sean if she was not high enough in status. âWhatâs the matter? Do you know Rae?â Willow asked after sensing a change in Seanâs tone. Sean glanced at Willow, then said slowly, âNo.â He had no idea what was going on in the Northwest. Let alone what those culprits who poisoned him were up to. Therefore, he could not expose himself easily.
âI knew it. Rae is very high up in the ranks.
âEven if youâve been in the army, sheâs out of reach for most people.â
Willow withdrew her gaze and murmured. âYeahâ¦â
Sean nodded, said no more, and drove seriously.
âBy the way, Sean, tell me the truth. Do you have any money on you right now?â
Willow closed the car window and turned t o look at Sean.
Sean froze for a moment, then shook his head slightly and smiled wryly.
âI have no money with me now.
âBut if you need money, be it millions or tens of millions.
âJust give me a number, and Iâll get you the money.â
Sean replied seriously as he thought Willow needed money.
Willow shook her head gently.
She did not want to find out if Seanâs words were true either.
Click.
Willow opened her pale blue purse and pulled out a few cash notes.
âYouâve recovered now. Youâll need money when you go out.
âTake these first. Tell me if itâs not enough.â
Willow put the money in the glove compartment and slowly closed her purse. Sean could not help blushing. After all, he had never asked a woman for money.
âDonât overthink it. Consider it a loan from me.â
Afraid that it would hurt Seanâ s dignity, Willow said as she reached out her hand t o stroke her hair.
âOkay!â
Sean did not say no.
Willow had been taking care of him for over two years, was the relationship not more than a few hundred bucks?
âThank you for everything.â âIâll use everything to make it up to youâ¦â Sean thought to himself as he held the steering wheel.
Quinn Corporationâs branch where Willow worked.
Faye and Simon stood outside the company, waiting for something.
âWhy isnât Mr. Ziegler here yet?
âDid he say when he was coming to sign the contract?â
Faye looked left and right. Her voice sounded a little impatient.
âNo, he just said heâll come over today.â
Simon shook his head, also a little anxious. They told Old Madam Quinn about it yesterday. Of course, it was to get credit and belittle Willow.
âThis mustnât go wrong.
âI already told Grandma about it and promised her to win the deal.â
Faye said with her arms folded in front of her as she felt flustered.
âDonât worry! Itâll be fine.â Simon was unconcerned. It was because Mr. Ziegler was so friendly yesterday. He even seemed to be begging for cooperation with the Quinn family.
