SUMMER

"What time Rashad is getting here?" Aunt Camille asked.

"He said that he's five minutes away." I responded

Aunt Camille and I were in the public health clinic for my  heart check ups.  I was exhausted because we had to get here for 7 am and the clinic begins at half 8. We needed to get here early so that we can get attended to early. I have never been in public health care all my life , my mom used to always carry me to private health facilities. But my Aunt Camille wasn't as financially stable as my parents, so she can only afford public health care which was free. We have been here 3 hours now and my name still hadn't been called to see the doctor. My aunt had to leave for work so Rashad was coming to wait with me and he would drop me off to school afterwards.

"Here he comes"my aunt stated looking in the direction of the entrance. I looked up and saw Rashad walking in looking fine as ever.

"Hey morning Ms.Camille" He leaned in and hugged my aunt then kissed me on my cheek "Morning mamas". He took a seat beside me.

"Great so now I can get to work" my aunt got up from her seat fixing her clothes. "So be good yall and you'll update me ok baby girl"  she said as she began making her way to the entrance

"Yeah no probs, bye Aunt Camille"

She waved me goodbye while exiting.

"I'm tired" I yawned as I laid my head on Rashad's shoulder

"How long you've been in here?"

"About 3 hrs"

"3 hrs?! Hell naw" He fussed

I laughed at his antics "Relax I'm the one who been here for 3 hrs. You just got here, so anyone to get hyped up it's me."

He smacked his lips "I ain't waiting here for no 3 hrs"

"Relax Rashad, it's a sacrifice  cause I need to find out how my heart is doing"

Not responding, Rashad got up from his seat, picking up my school back pack and putting it on his shoulder "Come on" was all he said before leading the way to the entrance.

Ï stood up confused "Rashad I cant leave, what if they call my name and I'm not here!"

He just ignored me and took my hand, heading to the exit.

We pulled up into a parking lot of a familiar building 'Doctors Inn Private Medical Facility'. This was where my mom would take me for my check ups. I looked over at Rashad shaking my head

"Rashad here is too expensive, the medical bills are high." I refused

"I never asked you that Summer, just come on out and lets go" he said as he killed the engine and came out the car.

I rolled my eyes and followed him inside.

"Hey good morning I'm here for a heart check up. She has Atrial Septic Effect but  we didn't make an appointment." Rashad spoke and the receptionist smiled politely

"No problem sir. Have a seat and we will be right with you"

"Your heart is doing well Ms. Reese. It's functioning perfectly" Dr. Williams smiled as she looked at my papers. We were in the doctors office after our arrival 10 mins ago.

Quick Service

I nodded smiling "That's great to hear. Right babe?"I turned to Rashad who was smiling also

"Yessirr" he said while licking his plump lips

"Ok well, since you are new here would you like to join our clinic so that we can schedule another appointment for you"

"Uhh Na-"

"Please do" Rashad cut me off smiling "We will be present for our next appointment"

The doctor nodded and began taking my information.

"Ok so your next appointment is in 2 weeks, but if you ever feel anything different like pains and such please feel free to come by, we are open 24/ 7" she smiled politely

"Will do"I assure her

"Ok it was nice meeting you Ms Reese and Mr Johnson" she shook our hands before we left to go to the cashier.

"The total is $250" the receptionist said and Rashad took out his wallet paying it.

"You ready mamas? "he asked me and i nodded

"I don't know how else to thank you Rashad" I thanked him as I sat in his car that was parked in the school parking lot.

"Don't even mention it mamas cause you my priority" He said before reaching in the backseat "Don't forget your food baby girl" he handed me the Chic Fil A bag. After the appointment Rashad had carried me for food.

"Thanks"

"Ight mamas you already late for school and its already lunch" he looked at his watch

I nodded and leaned in kissing him and he kissed back "I love u dude"

"Luh you too mamas" I smiled as I exited his car and began to walk into the school.

"Bitch gimme a nugget" Trina grabbed my nuggets from me and began eating as we sat on the lawn.

"Where's Jhene?" I asked

"Girlllllll I gots tea for you about that hoe" Trina laughed

"Spill"

"You remember that fine ass nigga who hit her with the ball last week?"

I nodded

"She boo'd up with his ass whole day. If Jhene told me 'hi' today, she said alot, because she was with him whole day"

"No way!"my eyes widen in shock

"Mhmmm she's  over with Jah's unfaithful ass. My bitch gotta new boy toy!"

We both screamed.

"Shhshsh they're comin they're comin" Trina stopped  and I looked in the direction and saw Jhene smiling while talking the  guy and he was holding her back pack.

"Hey ya'll" Jhene said smiling cheekily as she approached us

"Hey" we both responded cool acting like we weren't just talking about them.

"Meet Dante and Dante meet my girls, Trina and Summer"

"Sup"he nodded with a smile

"Hiiiii" we dragged out in unison

"Well imma hang with the girls aight, we'll catch up" Jhene said and he nodded as he handed her back pack to her. He leaned in kissing her cheek.

"Later ma" he said in a deep voice and Jhene face turned red. "Later ladies"

"Byeeeee"we dragged out again. Jhene smiled like she was ready to burst.

"Ok bitch he's gone" Trina said and Jhene screamed

I laughed "ohhh you like like this nigga"

"Nawww, we just cool" Jhene responded acting cool again like she was never screaming before

"I told ya'll this bitch crazy. Dante better run while he have the chance"Trina laughed referring to Jhene's sudden change of mood.

"Spill, the tea Jay cause last week you wasn't interested in him" I nudged her

"Yeah that nigga threw a whole ball at you to get your name and you walked on his ass"Trina added

"Naw ya'll bitches too nosey" Jhene laughed as she sat beside me on the lawn.

"Bitch you know better" Trina threatened her and Jhene rolled her eyes

"Fine, Ya'll remember my tutoring punishment?"

"mhm" we both nodded

"Well turns out home boy been flunkin math so I ended up tutoring him and well that's how we here" Jhene spoke"And Jah saw us" she said quickly

"What!!" Trina and I exclaimed

"Apparently Jah came in school on Saturday to see me and I was talking to Dante. He kissed my forehead n shit and when I turned around Jah was there watching us"

"Damn. What he say?" I asked interested to wherre this story was going

"He started to throw a fit but I ignored him until the nigga had the audacity to call me a hoe"

"That bitch ass nigga" Trina huffed "I hope you set his ass off for that foul shit"

"Bet. I turnt his ass up for that and after he began apologizing. Bitch I left his ass standing there."

"Periodt" Trina hyped

"So you like dante"I smiled widely

"Yeah he so fine" Trina fanned herself

"Back off bitch"Jhene huffed at Trina playfully and Trina laughed putting her hands up in surrender

"Aight hoe talk yo shit, my bad"

Jhene laughed before looking back at me "To be honest with yall, I'm just enjoying his company right now. I don't wanna rush things cause I'm now getting over this Rah and Lisa shit. Besides Dante understands and he ain't rushing me either"

"Ouu sounds like ya'll got this all planned out" I squealed and jhene nodded"Since we catching up,  how your therapy session went I never got a chance to ask you"I directed at Trina and she sighed

"Girl it was cool but it's not what I'm used to. They got me going deep in my life and Trey be there hearing about all the shit I went through and he just be getting angrier by the second"

"I can imagine how much that must've hurt him . Next time please don't keep shit like that away from us especially Trey" Jhene advised Trina

"I promise Imma tell ya'll wassup. I wont keep shit like that from people I love like that again"

"What about you missy, how everything went this morning?" Jhene looked at me

"Everything was fine my heart is great and everything. no complications and no complaints"

Both girls nodded

"Ouu I want a nugget"Jhene said grabbing the bag from Trina. That's how we spent our lunch, relaxing and talking.

This is my first book. How do ya'll think I'm doing with it?

Hey yall, this is just like a filler chapter. It was kinda boring lol.  I've been having a slight writers block so I'm taking a lil time to plan out the other chapters and how I want this book to go. Eventhough my updates maybe slow, I'll make sure to update every week and once I got everything planned out, I'll try to finish up this book. I also have an idea for another book but I'm not writing it until I finish TIME HEALS. But anywayyyyy.......
