Chapter 7

The second class finally got over. It was so boring. My eyes were closing when the teacher was talking and she glared at me so, I had to stay awake. Calculus was never my thing and will never be. I hate it with passion. Finally, it was time for lunch. I was starving. I fall in the always hungry category but, luckily it doesn’t affect my body.

Rachel and Will were already sitting at our table and the rest of us were in the line to get our lunch. Amber was telling me about her date with Liam. Amber always had a thing for Liam; they knew each other since they were 5 or something. So, after so many years Liam had finally asked her out. Amber was so excited, she was jumping around happily.

“Hey.” He whispered in my ear sending shivers down my spine. I knew it was Noah. I could tell just by the way he was making me feel. No one had that power but him. I turned around to see Noah smiling broadly at me.

I couldn’t help but smile back. “Hi.” I said and turned around to see Amber, Rosie and Sarah smirking at me. It was just reaching new levels of weirdness. I looked away from them frowning and saw Noah looking at the girls slightly confused.

I just shrugged when he looked at me for an explanation. He spoke again,” Have lunch with me today. I and my friends sit there.” He said pointing at the table full of jocks and cheerleaders. The girls were shooting daggers at me and most of the guys were smirking and checking me out.

I turned up my nose a little. There was no way I was sitting with them. “No. I am sitting with them.” I said pointing towards Amber and Rosie who were in front of us. Noah looked at me confused for a minute or two.

“Why? You don’t want to sit with me?” He asked in a slightly annoyed tone. I want to sit with him but his friends; they are not going to like me. I am not like him.

“I want to sit with you Noah but, not with your friends.” I said apologetically looking at him. His blue eyes met mine and I went blank. I couldn’t see anything besides his deep blue eyes, I was lost. We looked at each other for few seconds.

“Why?” he asked. How can I explain him? But I will have to or he might misunderstand that I don’t want to spent time with him or something.

“I am not like them. To be honest I don’t even like them much. I am sure they feel the same way. Sorry.” I said honestly. I dint feel like lying to him. He is so nice to me and I can’t lie right? Besides I am a terrible liar I always get caught.

“Ya I guess. They are not like you.” He said nodding. He looked little sad. “Maybe I can sit with you then. I f you don’t mind.” He said. Actually it’s a good idea. My friends won’t mind. They are nice people.

“Yeah alright. I don’t mind. And they won’t either. Come on.” I said picking up my tray. He nodded and walked with me to our table. They all stopped talking when we reached. The girls were checking out Noah. I can’t blame them. He looked hot like a model.

“Noah is going to sit with us today.” I said and pulled up a chair next to Will, patting the chair next to me for Noah. He sat down looking a little uncomfortable. Maybe, He thinks they don’t like him or something. They all had been in the same school for years so; I don’t see what the problem is.

“Are you sure you guys don’t mind?” He said looking at each one of them waiting for some reaction. They were quiet. I suppressed a giggle. I can’t believe Noah is feeling uneasy. He is usually so calm, cool and collective about every situation.

Rachel nodded a no but Liam was the one to speak. “No we don’t mind. It’s cool.” He said smiling at Noah and then me. Liam was really sweet. He was a kind of a person who gets along with everyone. I felt Noah relax beside me. He was sitting on the edge of his seat, ready to get up and leave. He shifted and made himself comfortable.

After few minutes of awkward silence, everyone started talking and making jokes like they do normally. Noah was included in almost all conversations. By the end of the lunch Noah and the guys had exchanged their numbers. We all left the cafeteria laughing on a stupid joke Will had cracked. He really is funny.

Rachel, Noah and I were heading towards our next class. Noah and I had same classes after lunch. He held my hand casually. I could feel the heat radiating from his body to mine. I felt so comforatable when he touched me. Like he could make all the bad things go away.

“Are you guys dating?” Rachel asked suddenly. My face turned red. What is she saying? This is so embarrassing! I am going to kill her.

Noah just laughed and shook his head. “No we are just friends. She is too good for me.” He said chuckling lightly. I am too good for him? He is just saving me the embarrassment. Noah was way out of my league. No guy like him will ever be interested in me.

“So you are single?” Rachel asked with a flirty smile. I was feeling jealous. Why is she flirting with him? And why the hell should it bother me? I am so confused. Noah is messing with my head. I am losing all my smartness. I shook my head in disbelief. Now I am even stupid.

Noah smirked at her. “Yes very much single and ready to mingle.” He said looking at Rachel and then at me. Noah and I sat next to each other. He is a player, he could flirt for a living.

“Well, you know me.” He said running his hand through his sexy black hair making it stick in every direction. Damn! He is looking so sexy! He is making my mouth water. I gulped and closed my eyes. I should stop lusting after him. I never lusted after any boy in my 17 years but with Noah everything is different.

The rest of the day passed quickly. Noah and I had all the same classes. We sat together. I couldn’t concentrate; he kept making jokes and saying silly things in my ear so no one could hear. I was laughing almost all the time. Every day I spend with him, it keeps getting better and better. He makes so happy just by smiling at me.

I got up from my chair and left the library. I was waiting for Noah to finish his practice. I have to wait everyday from now onwards, seen Noah will be giving me a ride back home. I didn’t understand what was his purpose? With him giving me a ride every day. I have a car and I can drive. But, I decided not to ask. I have lost every single argument with Noah since the first day.

He walked up to the car. His hair was still wet from the shower making him look hotter, if that’s possible. He came near me and opened the door for me to get in. I smiled at him and got inside. He walked over to his side. He got in and started the car.

“Will you watch my game this Friday?” he asked looking little unsure. I don’t really understand basketball. Seen Noah is asking I am ready to give it shot. If not anything I will get to watch him play. He must me good.

I nodded. “Yeah ok. It’s after school right?” I asked Rachel was talking about it yesterday. It was some inter school match. Quarter finals or something like that. I hardly paid attention to that conversation.

He nodded. “We even have an after match party. At my place. I live alone so it’s easier. You will have to come. The whole school attends these kinds of parties.” He said.

A party? I have never been to one. I know I am boring. “Even Rachel, Amber, Rosie, Sarah, Will and Liam attend these parties?” I asked in one breath.

Noah chuckled. “Yes they do. Now will you come?” He asked.

“If they are coming, then I will too.” I said shrugging. I will have fun for a change with them. I didn’t want to be stuck with the cheerleaders at his party. He told me he went out with a cheerleader. What was her name? Yes Shelly. They broke up in two days.

“Here we are.” Noah said stopping the car. Why is he getting out? I looked around and realized we were outside my house. We reached so quickly or maybe I was lost in my own world. My mom calls me a day dreamer.

Noah opened my door and I got out. My parents worked till late. They come home after I go to sleep. I don’t even realize what time they come back. “You want to come in?” I asked Noah motioning towards the main door.

“Ok. Your parents are not home?” He asked. I removed my keys and unlocked the door. Noah went inside before me.  I t was nothing compared to his house.

“No they work till late. You want a drink or will you have dinner?” I asked him easily. Grabbing the stuff I will need to make pasta. I can cook pretty well. My parents were never home during dinner time. I am used to cooking. Its fun

He nodded and smiled. “I will stay for dinner but only if you cook.” He said smiling at me sweetly.

“Sure." I said bending over to remove some salad from the fridge. When I straightened up, I turned around. Noah was looking at me weirdly. He looked like he was in pain; even his mouth was slightly open.

I looked confused. “Do I have something on me?” I asked trying to figure out what was wrong. I looked ok; I didn’t have anything on me.

He shook his head. “You are so beautiful.” He said. I blushed and looked into his eyes. I could tell that he meant it. His words were so sincere. I didn’t even realize how close we were standing. There was less than an inch space between us.

“Thank you” I managed to say and quickly looked away. I wanted to kiss him so badly. But I won’t we are friends, it would be wrong.

He helped me making the pasta. We took our plates to the counter and sat down. We were talking about school. He asked me where I lived before, my favorite color, favorite food and almost everything. I asked him all the same questions. Now we know each other a little better. It was surprising how much we had in common.

“Will pick you up tomorrow at 7.30. And I will wait outside so, don’t be late.” He said warningly. I nodded and he left. I stood outside till I couldn’t see his car anymore.

I went inside the house and straight to my bedroom. I was tired. Today had been a long day. Noah was so sweet; I wonder why he doesn’t have a girlfriend. Any girl would be lucky to have him. I know I will be the luckiest girl in the world to have Noah as her boyfriend. I sighed and drifted off to sleep.
