Chapter 844: Heavenly Oath
âIf it makes things better, I can go first.â Tang Zheng said when he noticed their hesitancy.
However, they werenât hesitant because they had planned on telling Qian Chu about Yuanâs plan to remove him from his position.
They were hesitant because a Heavenly Oath would mark their soul, and anything that is related to the soul is an extreme risk for any cultivators. Unless it was absolutely necessary, nobody would dare to take such risks.
âI-I am willing to do a Heavenly Oath since I know that I wonât say anything.â Yan Hara said a moment later.
âIf you do it, then I will do it as well.â Wan Yu nodded.
Yuan then said, âYou guys really donât need to do this⦠If I didnât trust you guys, I wouldnât have said anything out loud.â
âLittle founder, this is not just about you. This is also about our trust for each other. He clearly doesnât trust me, but I donât blame him since I donât trust him either.â Yan Hara said.
Wan Yu nodded, agreeing with Yan Haraâs words.
âThen allow me to start.â
Tang Zheng raised his hand above his head and spoke, âWith Heaven as my witness, I swear that I will not tell anyone that isnât here right now about what just happened. If I break this oath, may the Heavens shatter my soul as punishment.â
A golden light flickered on Tang Zhengâs forehead the next second, which meant that the Heavenly Oath was a success.
Yan Hara and Wan Yu followed suit after Tang Zheng by making their own oath.
âThere. Are you happy now?â Van Hara glared at Wan Yu afterward.
âYes, very happy.â Wan Yu shrugged.
He then turned to look at Yuan and said, âAnyways, if you truly intend on removing Wan Chu from his position, donât wait too long because the Demon Sealing Grotto definitely wonât be waiting for you.â
Yuan nodded, and he asked, âDo you }mow when the Demon Sealing Grotto might act?â
âWell, as heated as things are right now, I doubt anything significant would happen for a few more years. This is a very sensitive situation that could result In war between the two clans. However, I wouldnât bet on anything. We donât know what Qian Chu has planned, after all.â
âI will figure something out. You guys can just continue your life as normal.â Yuan said.
âNormal, huh? I think itâs a little too late for that Tang Zheng sighed.
âWhat are you going to do now?â Yan Hara asked him.
âI am going to focus on increasing my own strength,â he said.
âIf you need anything, you can contact me.â
âAnyways, do you want to visit the treasury now to redeem your points, or do you want to do it later? You have one year to use them before they are no longer valid.â Wan Yu asked him sometime later.
âI want to do it now.â Yuan said.
âAlright. Follow us.â
Yuan nodded and proceeded to follow them to this secluded area behind the Grand Library, where a small pagoda was located.
Sitting In front of this building was an old man, who appeared to be cultivating.
Once they got close enough, the old man opened his eyes and spoke without opening his mouth, his calm voice resounding very clearly in their heads, âWhat do you want?â
âHeâs here to redeem his points.â Wan Yu said.
The old man narrowed his gaze at Yuan for a moment before gesturing for him.
âGo ahead. Well wait for you out here.â Yan Hara said to him.
Yuan nodded and approached the old man
âShow me your necklace.â
Yuan removed the necklace from the examination and handed it to the old man.
âHm?!â
The old manâs eyes widened with surprise after seeing how many points Yuan had acquired.
He turned to look at Yan Hara and the others with a look of disbelief on his face.
âItâs real, Senior.â Wan Yu said with a smile on his face.
âThere should only be enough demons within the Demonsâ Valley to acquire 1,500 points, but the fact that you have 2,211 points must mean that you have managed to defeat the Abominationâ¦â The old man muttered in a low voice.
He then placed the necklace on his forehead and closed his eyes.
The necklace suddenly began glowing, and Yuanâs fight with the Abomination that it had recorded replayed inside the old manâs head.
âThe technique you used to create those golden swords⦠What Is it called?â The old man asked Yuan with a serious expression on his face.
âSwords of Binding Light.â Yuan responded without hesitation.
âAre you sure itâs not called Swords of Eternal Torment?â The old man narrowed his eyes.
âSwords of Eternal Torment? Whatâs that?â Yuan raised his eyebrows in a puzzled manner, looking like heâd genuinely never heard of such a technique before.
Seeing Yuanâs reaction, the old man shook his head, âForget it.â
âSomebody probably took inspiration from Swords of Eternal Torment for their own technique. It happens quite oftenâ¦. He sighed inwardly.
âAlright, follow me.â The old man stood up and led Yuan into the pagoda.
Once inside the pagoda, Yuan was greeted by hundreds of treasures on display on the ground and even on the walls.
âYou have an hour. Do not touch any of the treasures. They are protected by a powerful array. If you want a treasure, let me know, unless you want to experience the power of these arrays.â The old man said to him.
Yuan nodded and immediately began looking at the demon sealing treasures.
Most of the treasures there required between too to 500 points, so Yuan could potentially acquire 20 treasures from that place if he picked only the cheapest treasures.
However, he didnât do that. In fact, he wasnât interested in any of the treasures there.
After a quick walkthrough around the room, Yuan turned to look at the old man and said, âNone of these treasures interest me. I want to take a look at the treasures on the next floorâ¦â
