Chapter 1
Love Addiction: Doting On My Love
At the edge of the city, far from the noise and commotion, stood a massive city wall supporting a castle-
like structure. Here lay Imperial Palace, a place shrouded in mystery. Behind it was an endless forest, while in front was a beautiful, shimmering lake.
Coldâ¦
A young woman curled up as she hugged herself tightly on the finely embroidered carpet made by top Lussian craftsmen. She wore a white dress with puffed sleeves that beautifully fit her body. The dress revealed her legs, which were positioned in a suggestive manner. Her delicate face was accentuated by her subtly arched brows. Along with her rosy lips and white teeth, she radiated an air of purity.
Her shoulders were exposed to the cold, and it caused her to shiver. Snowflakes were visible on her thin eyelashes as they fluttered.
It was definitely colder than negative ten degrees Celsius.
âIâm freezing!â
Had she fallen asleep in a freezer?
In her daze, she heard someone say, âLower the temperature!â
The voice sounded colder than the room itself.
âWho is it? Why does he keep making it colder when he knows I donât like the cold?â
Violet finally forced herself to open her eyes. She did not want to freeze to death.
She noticed Atalian Renaissance period paintings hung on the wall. They looked blurry because her eyes were still unfocused. She looked down and saw herself lying on the floor near someoneâs legs.
They were straight and long.
Lucius raised one of his legs and revealed a pair of shiny black leather shoes. He then stepped on her.
âYouâre awake?â
It was the same cold voice!
She shivered violently from the cold as she attempted to push that shoe away. But she realized her whole body was extremely weak.
âLet me goâ¦â she murmured weakly. The freezing temperature made her fingers ache with pain.
âCould you turn up the heat a bit? Iâm freezing.â
Instead of letting her go, Lucius stepped on her even harder and pinned her to the floor!
What was going on?
âLet you go?â Lucius tilted his head downward. He grabbed Violetâs chin and turned her face toward him. âWhy would I, Agatha?â
Lucius was incredibly handsome. She had never seen someone as captivating as him before.
He sat there majestically, dressed in just a light shirt. Yet he did not show any indication of feeling cold, unlike her, who was freezing to her death.
His expression was as cold as the surrounding temperature, and his gaze was icy sharp.
âA⦠gatha?â It finally dawned on her what was happening. âSir, youâve mistaken me for another person. Iâm not Agatha. Iâmââ
âWhereâs the child? What did you do to him?â
âCh⦠Child?â She repeated in confusion. She was not sure what Lucius was talking about.
âWhere is the child you were carrying?â
âIâm not carrying a childâ¦â she tried to clarify. She was so cold that her voice was barely audible.
âDid you abort the child?â
Lucius flew into a rage. He grabbed Violetâs chin and flung her to the floor. Before she could get up, he lifted her up by her collar. âYou actually aborted my child?!â
His expression was extremely frightening. He looked like a demon that was poised to strike. Violet struggled to catch her breath in the face of his intense anger.
She felt scared and upset. She grasped his hands to try to ease the pain as she tried to explain, âSir, I donât even know you, much less have anything to do with you. How could I be carrying your child?â
âYou donât know me?â
Lucius practically hissed, and he sounded really nasally while speaking. Violetâs heart sank; she had a bad feeling about this.
Sure enough, he then lifted her up and tossed her onto the bed. âLooks like I have to remind you who I am and what sort of relationship we have.â
He swiftly leaned over her and pinned her down.
She saw him gulp. His rock-hard chest was pressed against hers. This scared her. âWhat are you doing?â
Lucius ignored her. He proceeded to climb onto her body with no hesitationâ¦
******
Suddenly, Violet turned and sat up.
What an absurd dream!
Being mistaken for someone else and interrogated was one thing, but engaging in such an act with a man?!
It was so embarrassing!
Feeling embarrassed, she covered her face. She could feel the blush on her cheeks.
But why was her body aching?
And why was this room so fancy? She had always stayed in regular hotel rooms. Even a presidential suite did not have so many genuine pieces of art.
As she wondered, her groggy mind gradually cleared up. She yelped before rolling out of bed with a blanket wrapped around her.
She realized what had happened when she saw the bedsheet come off. The red pool of blood formed a stark contrast against the white bedsheets.
âThatâs myâ¦â
It was not a dream! It was real!
She had been r*ped!
This sudden realization shattered Violet completely. It left her utterly stunned.
