Chapter 42
Love Addiction: Doting On My Love
âThank you.â George was grateful but also puzzled. âWhy did you suddenly change your mind?â
She had not been willing to cook for Lucius before.
Violet smiled at him. âDidnât I just say that since Iâm Agatha River, Iâll make up for my mistakes?
Cooking is one of the ways Iâll make it up to him.â
She took a step forward and thought of something else.
âMr. George, Agatha-I mean, did I really poison Luciusâs farm?â
George regarded her strangely.
âI went under the knife, you know? The anesthesia was really strong, and I donât remember some things.â
Since no one was going to believe her that she was not Agatha, she decided to become her.
George nodded, and his expression turned grave. âYou did. Imperial Enterprises has top-class markets all around the world. Everything sold in them is known to be top class, even without advertisements.
âWhile Imperial Enterprises wasnât this prestigious before, its items were still really good, and their target market was the upper-class society. But suddenly, someone died from eating their agricultural produce, and it caused a huge ruckus.
âEveryone lost trust in Imperial Enterprises, and the company could only announce that it will never sell agricultural produce again. The produce that had already been grown could only rot away after that.â
George sighed.
âThis was just the start of it. Plenty of other things happened after that, and they almost drove Imperial Enterprises to bankruptcy. No one bought from its markets anymore. We investigated everyone, but found that they were not the cause behind it. Then, you left with that important document. It was only then that Master Lucius realized that you were behind it all.â
âHuh?â Agatha was that horrible?
Violetâs mouth hung open, but she did not dare to ask any further questions. George was already burning with indignant rage. If she asked more questions, he might kill her.
So, she went to weed the garden.
This time, she paid attention to the time. When it was 5 p.m., she stopped weeding and removed her gloves so that she could cook for Lucius.
Once she returned to the living hall, she saw two people on the sofa. One of them, obviously, was Lucius, while the other was the woman who came the day before. She was sitting on his lap. He had a hand around her waist, and they were having the time of their life making out.
Seriously, get a room.
Violet rolled her eyes, but did not bother them. They had just begun with foreplay and would probably need some time to be done. So, Violet went upstairs to rest a while before she went off to cook.
She laid down and fell asleep.
âMadam.â
Violet only woke up when George knocked on her door. She rubbed her eyes and saw that it was nearly 7 p.m.. When she opened the door, she saw George standing there while looking really nervous.
âWhy havenât you made dinner?â
Violet stretched and went downstairs, only to see that Lucius was no longer stuck to the woman like glue. He sat on the sofa with a cold expression, while the woman was gone.
He adjusted his cufflinks and said coldly, âYou can pack your bags, Mr. George.â
George felt so nervous that he did not dare to make a sound.
Violet took a step forward. âWerenât you having fun just now? How was I supposed to know how long youâd screw her? If I made dinner earlier and it got cold, what then?â
Lucius glared at her coldly. His expression was really dark.
Violet shrugged. She felt that she did nothing wrong. âIâll make dinner now.â
She went to the kitchen.
Lucius shot to his feet and followed after her. The moment Violet entered the kitchen, she heard the door slam shut. It was so loud that the shelves in the kitchen nearly fell over.
âOut!â Lucius shouted while glaring at her.
