Fact no.22: Getting wasted with Jacob isn't such a terrible idea
and we hated
NOAH
I am tired in the morning and with a headache after Caden and Jacob dragged me at a bar yesterday. Alec and Adam have gone to another bar last night, saying they needed to check something at Adam's HQ in Barcelona. Who goes to their office at one in the morning, I have no fucking clue. And I am sure the two went at a bar, to talk about whatever secret stuff the two had to talk about.
I was at a bar with Caden and Jacob. The girls were also out. They went for a midnight swim at the beach. However, I am sure that swim quickly turned into a party. One could hear the music playing through the speakers even from the house. Cami and Kai complained a bit, wanting to sleep, but I told them not to say anything to April or her friends. She was so happy to have all her besties again with her. There is no way someone gets to ruin her happiness.
Caden said Jacob needed to go to a bar and since Alec and Adam were already out, he asked me if I would like to join them. I hadn't expected that, given my...issues, with Caden. But the relaxed way he asked me to come made me leave our differences apart for one night. I could try to be friends with a hockey player. No matter how much that counters with my morals.
Jacob really needed a time out, I noticed. The Mister Sunshine almost cried the whole way til there. We snuck out in Darrel's SUV, since we realized Alec might spend more time killing us if we took his Ferrari. However, Sofia caught us as we wanted go get the keys from the key bowl. She raised an eyebrow at us, then got a hint of what we might be up to and handed us the keys to the SUV. We all quickly thanked her, Jacob bowing a bit, mostly as a joke. Sofia rolled her eyes amused and headed back to the beach.
Arrived at the car, Caden takes the job to drive, Jacob sitting on the backseat, me on the passenger's seat. Caden talks the whole time, Jacob usually having that job, but he being too occupied in whining.
"What's up with him?", I ask Caden. He only shrugs and says.
"Lovesick."
I nod, thinking back at the time Jacob arrived with Adam and Nessie, and how he hugged Dia. Then the way Dia let go of him to go hug and kiss Leo. And if April's theories about Dia and Jacob being soulmates are true, that must have been hard for him to witness.
"Sorry, man", I say. Jacob looks at me frozen, then realizes I figured it out. And only nods thankful.
So he does like Dia.
"So, what should we do?", I ask, actually feeling bad for him. I might have had issues with Caden, but Jacob has never done anything to me. And, even though I would never admit it, the Fab Five really are my friends. So, I really want to help.
"I don't know", Jacob replies, lying down on the backseat. If Darrel was here and would have seen him spread all over his fancy leather, he would have had a fit. I smirk at that thought. The smirk disappears as I take Jacob in again.
"Let's get drunk", I suggest. Caden rolls his eyes yet Jacob smirks with mischief.
"You're the dd", Jacob tells his best friend. Caden growls.
"I'm always the dd", he replies annoyed. Jacob sighs exhausted.
"Fine. Should I be the dd? Have you seen my state, you inconsiderable ass?"
Caden chuckles, probably relieved his best friend hasn't lost his sass even in his "state". "What about Coin?", Caden asks. I shrug. Jacob laughs.
"Coin is a better drunk than you are. You're so serious when you're drunk. He's fun", Jacob replies.
Caden turns to me and raises an eyebrow. I only smirk.
"Fine. I'll be the dd", Caden gives up. Jacob cheers from the backseat and then goes back to whining.
"He acts like a kid", I comment.
Jacob shows me the middle finger and makes sure I see it in the rearview mirror.
"His mind is still trapped in kindergarten", Caden adds, smirking at me.
Jacob scowls. "If I am in kindergarten then where are you? Nursery? Should I remind you about the time you made us walk dressed as Superman and Batman around the city, just cause you felt like it?", he adds.
Caden lets out a swear at his best friend while I begin to laugh. Jacob smirks bright.
"You did that?", I ask, not knowing the two could actually be fun.
"Yeah. Ask Mister I'm-not-in-kindergarten here. We always do that on the morning of his birthday. Maybe you could join us next time. We might need a Flash", Jacob adds. He then freezes as he remembers Caden and I aren't really on speaking terms all the time. And from the frozen expression on Caden's face, I guess that's what he thinks of too.
"We don't need a Flash", Caden replies, his voice cold. Only to add: "But we might need an Aquaman". A peace offering. To start things again and try to be friends.
"I'll be glad to be your Aquaman", I tell them, looking at Caden. He smiles at me. My mouth also twitches in a corner. "But don't be surprised if the girls end up staring at me", I add smirking.
"Why? Since you might be seen as a weirdo going on a random day out like you just escaped a mental health facility?", Jacob counters. Caden lets out a short laugh.
"No", I reply. "Since I am stunningly attractive. Even as Aquaman."
"You're damn humble too", Caden replies. Jacob smirks wide. I smirk too.
"One of my many traits."
We soon arrive at the bar they picked out for tonight. And Jacob and I kept our promise. We got drunk. Very drunk. What exactly we did in our drunk state only came out this morning, as Caden strolls inside the room, a bright smirk on his face.
"Good morning, Starshines", he says to me and Jacob. The girls are probably in one of their rooms. Where they slept together last night. After their party on the beach, they decided to make a slumber party too. None of the guys found their girlfriends in their rooms when they arrived yesterday, and as they panicked search throughout the house and walked in on their slumber party, they were sent out. The girls haven't come out since last night.
"Hello to you too", Jacob said, hands on his head. He has a headache like me. Caden notices and smirks.
"How's the head?", he asks us, still smirking.
"Asshole", I hiss at him. He gives me an amused look and goes to the kitchen isle, more exactly to the mixer. He takes out some ingredients from the fridge and makes us both a hangover smoothie. The sound clearly woke up some people, since we could suddenly hear voices throughout the house. Caden only places the green weird-looking liquid in two glasses and says: "Bottoms up!"
I show him the middle finger and he smirks brighter. He then takes out his phone, and I notice his wallpaper. A picture of him and Nini, somewhere in Italy probably. He is eating some ice cream while she is squinting her lips on his cheek. The home screen reveals a new photo, taken probably after the one on the lock screen. The ice cream is gone, location and clothes are the same, and they are kissing now. Caden even smiles a bit at the sight of the wallpaper. The guy is so in love. He opens his gallery and clicks on a video, of me and Jacob dancing at the bar yesterday. We're making the robot dance, then start to salsa...That video is ruining my reputation in so many different ways.
"Asshole", I hiss at him again. Jacob nods agreeing. Asshole or not, the guy's smoothie already staring making its effect. The headache starts fading away.
"Is there a fire?", a new voice tones, and we all turn to see Nini in the hallway, wearing an oversized T-Shirt with WRENCORE HOCKEY and Caden's last name on the back, a pair of fluffy socks and her red hair up in a messy bun. Caden smiles wide at the view.
"Why would there be a fire, love?", he asks her. She raises her shoulders and says:
"The noise. We were sleeping and then came that", she explains, trying to sound as dramatic as possible. She then discovers the mixer on the table and puts the pieces together. Then smirks.
"Come here, Broadway", Caden says, opening his arms wide. Nini tiptoes her way to her boyfriend and sits on his lap, letting Caden wrap his arms around her. She also smiles now.
"Have you had a nice time?", he whispers in her ear, but we all heard it.
"Yeah, you?"
"The two got utterly drunk. It was fun", Caden replies. I show him the middle finger and Jacob frowns. Nini smirks at the two of us.
"I bet", she replies. I show her the middle finger as well. Caden looks proud at his girlfriend.
"Good morning, party people", Sofia says, strolling inside the room. She's in a fancy pair of pyjamas, a set made of something that looks like a silk undershirt with a pair of shorts. They are white with small red hearts on it. The pearls around her neck are still there, so are her earrings. Although she just woke up, she already looks photoshoot ready. As she discovers Jacob and me on the couch, she smirks bright.
"I take it last night was good", she adds.
"Fuck you very much, Your Royal Highness", I let out, slightly annoyed but mostly amused. Sofia only smirks wider and does a small curtsy at me.
"Has anyone of you seen my boyfriend?", she asks us. We all shake our heads. As choreographed, Alec emerges from the shadows, making us all swear at him. Only Sofia smiles bright at the sight of him. He's already in one of his old money outfits. When did this guy even wake up?
"Good morning, Foxy", he says, coming to hug Sofia. She smiles brighter and wraps her arms around him in return. The two whisper stuff to each other and end up kissing. As they turn to us again, he's still holding her in his arms, her head resting on his chest.
"How long have you been there?", I ask him, still confused where the heck he was.
"Long enough to get a picture of what happened", he answers, looking only at Sofia. As he turns to us, there is amusement in his eyes: "Nice dancing by the way."
I hiss "Asshole" at him too and Jacob is the one who shows the middle finger now.
"I've also been here long enough to make you all breakfast", he continues. Sofia looks at him surprised. He only nods, and they kiss again. Jacob, Caden, Nini and I stare at him like dogs waiting for a treat. Alec chuckles. He chuckles.
"It's already outside, I set the table earlier."
The four of us rush outside, only Sofia remaining next to her boyfriend. From the face she has on while looking at him, I bet that even if someone would hand her the world right now, she'd still rather stay with Alec and look at him.
"At least have the common sense to wait for everybody", Alec tells us, going back to kissing Sofia.
"Yes, Papa", I say earning myself chuckles from the other ones who came with me outside. The chuckles are stopped as we figure out we're not alone. And I see April. She's waiting at the table, snacking on some donuts.
"Oh, morning", she says, looking at us with a wide smile. "Thought I heard voices."
"Good morning, precious", I reply, fighting the urge to go to her and kiss her. Instead, I just sit down on the chair across from her and brush her knee with mine under the table. I can see her tense, then smile. An honest smile. I immediately get butterflies.
Nini and Caden sit next to each other next to her, Jacob goes next to me and across from his best friend. Adam is sitting on my other side, already in his tux. April is looking gorgeous with her white summer dress, hiding the bathing suit underneath. I can still see the contour of her bra. It makes me almost go crazy.
"Morning", Adam greets us too. He takes a small donut from a bag and eats it. I recognize it then. A rosquilla. April brings them usually for breakfast. She gets them on her jog and shares them with us. Only, she usually gets one bag. Now there are four of them on the table. Surrounded by plates filled with eggs, bacon, cut vegetables and freshly made bread. Glass bowls are set over the plates, to keep the food hot.
"Alec", April says, reading the surprise on my face. Obviously she can understand everything I am feeling just by looking at me.
How I love that girl.
"He made us all breakfast, yet doesn't allow us to eat until everybody is here. So we've been snacking on donuts since", she adds, and hands me and Jacob a bag. She hands Nini and Caden another one. We all thank her and start doing the same.
"What's the plan for today, birthday girl?", I ask her. She smirks.
"Today", April begins, "we go at the beach."
I hardly stop smiling bright.
Beach day it is.
