Chapter 12

0:17

Half Past Midnight

"..fuck, I'm sorry."

She just laughed at Andre.

They sighed in relief as soon as they got inside the cafe, they ran into.

"Sorry, palpak."

"Hala, nabasa ka ba?"

"I'm not, ikaw ba?"

"Sa shirt lang, pero konti lang."

"I'm sorry, Jian."

They finished Jinie's research exactly at 1 pm and as they were planning to explore different tourist spots in Zambales to celebrate Jinie's birthday it started to rain heavily.

Andre already planned the whole day just to be wasted by the sudden rain.

She's been laughing since they ran because of the rain.

Saka kasama kaya kita."

Andre excused himself for a minute and went to the counter.

Habang nasa counter nakatingin siya kay Jian, she saw him looking ate her that's why she smlied at waves her hand before busying herself with her phone.

Kahit na hindi natuloy yung plano ni Andre for her birthday she still smiles beautifully. She's never been disappointed at him.

He was a mess, they were losing hope sa pag-abot ng pangarap sa pagbabanda. She's the only one who stayed with him, nakangiti pa rin siyang sasalubungin kahit na hindi maganda 'yung ibabalita niya palagi.

She listened to all his worries, during the time that he was shaken for the first time with his dreams.

And even when she was hurting, she still didn't blame anyone. She continued to treat the people around the person who hurt her with genuine kindness.

Kahit nang mga panahon na 'yon, she has her problems pero never niyang kinalimutan mag-alala pa rin para sa mga taong nakapaligid sa kaniya.

And she never expected a lot from him, tinanggap lang niya kung ano 'yung kayang ipakita ni Andre and then she'd smile.

Hanggang ngayon, she's still the one who keeps him grounded.

Jian was surprised when Andre finally sat down in front of her, carrying a chocolate cake and two drinks on the tray.

"Happy birthday Jinie dog, sorry.

"This is more than enough for my birthday, you already made it special than it originally should."

Andre sang her happy birthday and once the staff heard him singing they joined him, even the customers from different tables also joined singing.

All of the people inside the cafe wished her a happy birthday.

"Kanina ka pa tumatawa."

"Naalala ko kasi first meeting natin, it was raining too."

"Why would you name the dog Jinie kasi! I thought you're calling for me. Please, that was so awkward, I wanted to bury myself at that spot that moment."

Andre laughed remembering the scene.

She's embarrassed for me, she's your classmate that time na e."

"Nagkaron ako ng cute na aso because of that."

"In my defense, we were in college, you don't expect me to be sane."
