Chapter 140
Reborn Before The Divorce
Molly stuffed the last bite into her mouth and grumbled, âI donât want to go either!â
âItâs not just mommy taking you, daddy will go with you too,â Nydia said.
Molly looked at Tavish, waiting for his decision. In big matters like this, Molly always followed Tavishâs lead.
âOkay,â Tavish said after some consideration.
âGood, go change your clothes,â Nydia said, patting his head from behind, but he turned away, making Nydia awkward.
Nydia didnât mind and reached over to rub him. Tavish froze and felt a bit embarrassed when he met Nydiaâs smile, then ran back to his room to change clothes.
When Jesse returned, they had all changed their clothes. Jesseâs gaze fell on Nydia, who was wearing a denim skirt and a puffy-sleeved top. The skirt was just below her knees, a length that could easily expose the scar on her knee if she wasnât careful.
He glanced at it and then looked away without saying anything.
The family of four arrived at the Malone Villa in five minutes.
âFinally, youâre here! Molly and Tavish seem to have grown taller,â Laura said happily as she welcomed them in.
Cade and Willette were also at home and were equally happy to see them.
âI brought my family here to eat with you,â Nydia said, placing the gifts she had bought on the coffee table.
âItâs enough that youâre here, why did you bring gifts? Iâm happy just to see you. Donât bring anything next time,â Laura said, asking the maid to take the gifts away. âMolly, come here and let grandma hold you.â
âAchoo!â Molly sneezed and rubbed her nose, saying, âGrandma Laura, I have a cold and canât let you hold me, I might infect you.â
Laura was taken aback. She knew Molly was more obedient than Tavish, who had always been hostile towards her. She had only wanted to hold Molly, but didnât expect Molly to say she was sick. She couldnât judge whether the cold was real or not and then heard Nydia say, âShe caught a cold a few days ago from kicking off the blanket, and hasnât recovered yet.â
âIs it serious?â
âNot really, just a bit of a runny nose and coughing at night.â
âThen Molly, you should take medicine and be a good girl. Grandma will hold you when youâre better.â
âOkay,â Molly obediently agreed.
However, Willette insisted on holding Molly as if to expose Mollyâs lies.
âMolly, I am not afraid of infection. I really want to hold you, you cute little thing,â she reached out her hand to Molly and said, âAnd Molly, if you infect me with your cold, then your cold will be cured.â
This statement made Jesseâs heart tremble, and his eyes unconsciously drifted towards Nydiaâs face. Nydia sensed it and turned her head to meet his gaze. In that instant, she knew Jesse remembered the âbad thingâ she did before, and immediately smiled.
Jesse averted his gaze, but his ears turned slightly flushing.
âAunt Willette, I know that you are doing this for my good, but I cannot infect you. If you catch a cold, you will look haggard and ugly. Aunt Willette, you are so pretty, I donât want you to look ugly. Uncle will blame me then,â she pouted and spoke slowly, with clear and organized speech, making it impossible to argue.
With the conversation going this far, it would be strange if Willette still insisted. Therefore, she did not insist, but still reached out to pinch Mollyâs nose, âMolly, you are really cute and very smart.â
She looked at her hand and exclaimed thankfully, âFortunately, I didnât squeeze Mollyâs snot out.â
Howeverâ¦
âMommy, Mommy, my nose hurts,â Mollyâs eyes turned teary.
Nydia saw that Willette had pinched Mollyâs nose until it was scarlet, and immediately picked her up and looked at Willette with some blame, âSister, you pinched too hard.â
âMommy, it hurts!â Molly closed her eyes, and tears streamed down her face, feeling very wronged.
A red nose cannot be disguised, and it doesnât seem like Molly is pretending.
This embarrassed Willette. She did intentionally pinch too hard just now to teach Molly a lesson, but she didnât expect Molly to cry directly.
