Nydia was first surprised, and then angry. “Can people spread rumors like this? Can I see it?” she asked.

Sara signaled to her friend to hand Nydia the phone to look at. After Nydia read it, she became even angrier. “People believe this with just one article? It’s ridiculous!”

“So, Jesse didn’t hit you?” Sara asked.

“Of course not.” Bite, does that count?

“Then, is this photo of you?”

Nydia saw the photo at a glance, so she knew who had created this incident.

“It really is me, but I got these bruises accidentally when I slipped and knelt on the ground while taking a shower.”

Sara’s eyes became sharp.

“A photo like this is not something ordinary people can take, right?”

Nydia looked up at her. They were about the same height, but Sara was wearing high heels, so Nydia appeared a little shorter. However, her gaze was cold and fierce, and it was not diluted by the height difference.

“Dr. Duncan, are you suspicious of me?”

“I am just asking reasonably as a friend.”

Nydia sneered, “From what position are you questioning me? Do you want me to step down and give up my position?”

Their conversation on this side of the elevator attracted many people’s attention. People entering and leaving the elevator couldn’t help but look at them. Both of them were very good-looking, plus they had two cute children, and some people even took pictures of them secretly.

“I’m just asking as a friend. Aren’t your reaction so big? Are you guilty?” Sara asked again.

“Yes, I’m guilty,” Nydia nodded.

This reaction surprised Sara.

“I’m worried that someone will take advantage of the situation and cause discord,” Nydia smiled. She was wearing makeup today, and her red lips were particularly stunning. Sara, who was already considered a beauty, paled in comparison to Nydia. “Dr. Duncan, I won’t chat with you anymore. I have to take the kids home. Jesse is waiting for us at home.”

As she finished speaking, the elevator door opened. Nydia led her two children into the elevator, and Julia followed behind.

Sara turned around and met Nydia’s eyes. Their gazes clashed in the air, and neither of them was willing to back down.

“Mommy, who was that lady?” Molly asked.

“She’s a doctor. I was scared because of the incident of falling into the water last time, so I went to see a doctor. She’s that doctor,” Nydia explained.

Molly didn’t speak again but instead reached out her hand. “Mommy, hug. I am sleepy.”

Nydia bent over and picked up Molly, who rubbed her eyes on her shoulder.

“Tavish, are you sleepy?”

“No,” Tavish shook his head. “You’re holding Molly, so you don’t have to hold me.”

It was too tiring to hold his sister with one hand and his mother’s hand with the other.

“Then hold Julia’s hand. It’s dangerous in the underground parking lot,” Nydia said.

Tavish took Julia’s hand.

When the elevator arrived at the parking lot, they found their car and drove home.

Nydia couldn’t read the contents on her phone while driving.

When they arrived home, Jesse was in the living room.

“Molly fell asleep. I’ll take her to her room first.”

But Tavish didn’t follow her.

He ran up to Jesse and stared at him with his black eyes.

“What?”

“Who is Dr. Duncan?”

Jesse frowned, “Why are you asking about her?”

“I met her at the mall just now. Does she like you?”
