Chapter 235
Reborn Before The Divorce
Nydia felt like she had been running in a dream and woke up feeling exhausted. Even her legs were sore.
When Jesse knocked on the door and came in, she still felt dazed. She didnât know why she saw the shadow of the boy on Jesse, even though she had not seen his face.
âI will take you to the Malone Villa later,â Jesseâs voice brought Nydia back to reality.
Nydia hesitated for a moment before nodding.
Jesse was probably worried that the Malones would trouble her, so he wanted to escort her to the villa and pick her up later. That way, the Malones would not dare to do anything.
âBut first, I want to go to the restaurant to check on the decoration,â Nydia said. The restaurant was more important to her.
âOkay.â
After breakfast, Jesse and Nydia set off. When they arrived at the restaurant, Nydia thought Jesse would stay in the car, but he got out too. The decoration of the restaurant was beginning to take shape and looked good. It was the effect she wanted.
âSir, Madam,â the person in charge of the restaurantâs decoration greeted them. âYouâve been working hard during this period.â
Nydia knew that this person had been helping to watch over the restaurant during this time. Otherwise, she would have had to do it herself.
âThis is what I should do,â he replied.
âHow long will it take to finish the decoration?â
âIf there are no problems, it should only take half a month. This is the date I agreed with them. Take a look.â He showed her his work notebook, which was very meticulous.
âItâs okay.â
Nydia looked around and checked some of the details. Everything was fine, so she felt relieved. The restaurant had two floors. Upstairs, there were two large private rooms and three small ones, all of which were carefully designed to ensure that customers would feel comfortable while dining.
âDid Vergil arrange for this person, or did you?â Nydia asked Jesse.
âWhat do you think?â Jesse obviously didnât want to answer such a stupid question.
But Nydiaâs eyes lit up. This man had improved. He was willing to admit it, although not in a direct way. For Jesse, it was still a big step forward. She thought he would answer directly, âVergil.â
After confirming that the restaurantâs decoration was okay, she and Jesse went to the Malone Villa for lunch. It was a pre-arranged thing, so the Malones were not surprised to see her. However, they were still a little surprised when they saw Jesse.
âJesse is also here. Come in,â Mr. Malone said, trying to hide his surprise.
âIâm here to bring her. Thereâs something to deal with at the company. Iâll come back later to pick her up,â Jesse said and left.
Laura couldnât help but ask after he left, âNydia, does he keep such a close eye on you now?â
Picking her up and dropping her off? Was it a trick?
Nydia didnât say anything and deliberately let Laura misunderstand.
Willette was not there for lunch today. Only Cade and Laura were present.
âWhere is Willette?â Nydia asked.
âSheâs got something to do.â
âI donât want to trouble you with my birthday. Iâm not a child anymore, so thereâs no need toâ¦â Nydia started to say, but Cade interrupted her.
âHow can you call it a trouble? Of course, we must celebrate such an important day as your birthday. You used to celebrate it every year when your parents were around, and even now that theyâre gone, you still have to celebrate it. Otherwise, how can I justify myself to your parents?â Cade said sternly.
âDonât worry about the birthday. Just show up on the day, and Willette will take care of everything,â
Nydia agreed reluctantly.
She had a feeling that they would do something at the birthday party.
Many things had changed now, and she couldnât use the past as a reference. She had to take things one step at a time.
âNydia, why do I feel that youâre distancing yourself from us?â Cade looked at Nydia and asked, with a sharp gaze that peeked through his glasses.
