Chapter 301 Nydia’s Return

Nydia was inside the temple, she wished there were 48 hours in a day, so she could have enough time.

Mr. Black was now confident in leaving the patients in her care.

“Hello, your mother is old and difficult to cure,” Nydia apologized to the old lady who had come for treatment. Her leg was broken and wanted Nydia to care her so that she could walk normally.

“Why can’t she be treated? Do you look down on the elderly? Aren’t you self-proclaimed miracle doctor? You can’t even cure this? What a bunch of fake healers!” The old lady’s son shouted at Nydia angrily.

“I’m sorry, we’re not miracle doctors. We’re just telling you the truth that we can’t treat her. Please seek other professional help,” Nydia replied.

“We came a long way and climbed the mountain because we believed you were miracle doctors. Now you’re saying you can’t treat her? My mother was able to walk, but now she can’t because of you. What kind of quacks are you?” The man accused Nydia of ruining his mother’s leg.

“We haven’t even treated your mother. We just examined her and told you she couldn’t be cured. Don’t make baseless accusations,” Nydia retorted.

“You’re the one who can’t cure her. She was fine before you messed it up. You broke her leg!” The man was convinced that Nydia was the one who ruined his mother’s leg. Nydia was speechless and laughed out of anger. “In that case, call the police,” she said.

“Call the police if you want. You broke my mother’s leg and won’t even compensate us. You’re kicking us out!” Nydia realized they were trying to extort her.

The master had been silent all this time, only looking at the family with pity.

“Old baldy, what are you looking at? You’re just trying to cheat people and take their money!” The man continued to insult them.

Nydia wanted to speak, but the master stopped her. She decided to call the police. Since the master had been living there for a while and had treated many people, they rushed to help when they heard there was trouble.

When the police arrived, the man was still cursing and even his wife was joining in. Only the old lady remained silent, and her face looked grim.

After Nydia explained the situation, the man started shouting again. “They’re all just cheating and tricking people. They ruined my mother’s leg. We don’t have much money, and they’re just trying to scam us! Officer, you have to help us!”

“Enough, calm down!” One of the middle-aged officers shouted at him, which silenced the man.

“Master, we’ll investigate and inform you of the results,” he said respectfully to the master, and then they took the family away.

The man was very dissatisfied and continued to curse as they left.

After only two days, the investigation results came out. It turned out that the couple did not take care of their old mother at all and let her fend for herself. They even beat and scolded her. The leg was actually broken by the daughter-in-law, and they were planning to extort money.

“Thank you, Sheriff Gabriel,” the master bowed with his hands clasped in gratitude.

“You’re welcome. This is what we should do. Fortunately, they were trying to extort money from you, or else who knows how badly they would have treated their mother!” Sheriff Gabriel was still very angry when he talked about this man.

Nydia, however, stared at Sheriff Gabriel with a strange look in her eyes.

“Sheriff Gabriel, may I take your pulse?”

“Am I sick?”

“Let me check your pulse first.”
