Chapter 301 Nydia’s Return
Reborn Before The Divorce
Nydia was inside the temple, she wished there were 48 hours in a day, so she could have enough time.
Mr. Black was now confident in leaving the patients in her care.
âHello, your mother is old and difficult to cure,â Nydia apologized to the old lady who had come for treatment. Her leg was broken and wanted Nydia to care her so that she could walk normally.
âWhy canât she be treated? Do you look down on the elderly? Arenât you self-proclaimed miracle doctor? You canât even cure this? What a bunch of fake healers!â The old ladyâs son shouted at Nydia angrily.
âIâm sorry, weâre not miracle doctors. Weâre just telling you the truth that we canât treat her. Please seek other professional help,â Nydia replied.
âWe came a long way and climbed the mountain because we believed you were miracle doctors. Now youâre saying you canât treat her? My mother was able to walk, but now she canât because of you. What kind of quacks are you?â The man accused Nydia of ruining his motherâs leg.
âWe havenât even treated your mother. We just examined her and told you she couldnât be cured. Donât make baseless accusations,â Nydia retorted.
âYouâre the one who canât cure her. She was fine before you messed it up. You broke her leg!â The man was convinced that Nydia was the one who ruined his motherâs leg. Nydia was speechless and laughed out of anger. âIn that case, call the police,â she said.
âCall the police if you want. You broke my motherâs leg and wonât even compensate us. Youâre kicking us out!â Nydia realized they were trying to extort her.
The master had been silent all this time, only looking at the family with pity.
âOld baldy, what are you looking at? Youâre just trying to cheat people and take their money!â The man continued to insult them.
Nydia wanted to speak, but the master stopped her. She decided to call the police. Since the master had been living there for a while and had treated many people, they rushed to help when they heard there was trouble.
When the police arrived, the man was still cursing and even his wife was joining in. Only the old lady remained silent, and her face looked grim.
After Nydia explained the situation, the man started shouting again. âTheyâre all just cheating and tricking people. They ruined my motherâs leg. We donât have much money, and theyâre just trying to scam us! Officer, you have to help us!â
âEnough, calm down!â One of the middle-aged officers shouted at him, which silenced the man.
âMaster, weâll investigate and inform you of the results,â he said respectfully to the master, and then they took the family away.
The man was very dissatisfied and continued to curse as they left.
After only two days, the investigation results came out. It turned out that the couple did not take care of their old mother at all and let her fend for herself. They even beat and scolded her. The leg was actually broken by the daughter-in-law, and they were planning to extort money.
âThank you, Sheriff Gabriel,â the master bowed with his hands clasped in gratitude.
âYouâre welcome. This is what we should do. Fortunately, they were trying to extort money from you, or else who knows how badly they would have treated their mother!â Sheriff Gabriel was still very angry when he talked about this man.
Nydia, however, stared at Sheriff Gabriel with a strange look in her eyes.
âWhy are you looking at me like that?â Sheriff Gabriel was embarrassed, and he unconsciously touched his face, worried that there was something on it.
âSheriff Gabriel, may I take your pulse?â
âAm I sick?â
âLet me check your pulse first.â
Sheriff Gabriel thought for a moment and decided to let her check his pulse. As a result, Nydiaâs face turned solemn.
âUm⦠you should go for a check-up when you have time, especially your liver,â Nydia hesitated before saying, âIf itâs nothing, that would be great.â
Sheriff Gabriel frowned. âI had a check-up before and there was no problem.â
âTry again or just check your liver,â she suggested.
âIâ¦,â he looked at the master, âWhat do you think?â
âGo for a check-up,â the master said.
This made Sheriff Gabriel take it seriously. He knew very well about the masterâs medical skills. After he left, Nydia asked the master, âI think thereâs something wrong with his liver.â
âYeah, there should be a problem. I hope he can go for a check-up. Thereâs still time now,â the master replied.
Nydia breathed a sigh of relief. âMaster, am I considered a graduate now?â Learning medicine involves the four diagnostic methods of observation, listening and smelling, questioning, and pulse-taking. When she saw Sheriff Gabriel earlier, she felt something was off, and sure enough, after taking his pulse, she discovered the problem. However, if she said there was a problem, he might not believe her, so it would be more reliable for him to get a check-up at the hospital.
âYes, you can pack up and go now,â the master replied.
âIn two more days,â Nydia thought that after parting with the master this time, she didnât know when she would see him again. She and Jesse agreed to meet in half a month, and she would be going back one day earlier if she returned in two days.
She didnât know how Jesse was doing now. The way he left that day lingered in her mind, making her very worried.
âMaster, how long do you plan to stay here?â
âDepends on fate.â
Well, the masterâs words are always so mystical.
On the evening before Nydiaâs departure, a female patient came to the temple.
âMaster, Iâ¦â she seemed hesitant.
âIf you have any questions, you can talk to my female disciple,â the master pointed at Nydia.
The woman was instantly relieved. At this point, the master walked out, leaving only Nydia and the woman.
âDo you have any difficult-to-talk-about medical conditions?â
The woman hesitated to speak, âItâs a gynecological problem, can it be treated?â
Although Nydia was somewhat surprised, she could guess that the condition must be something that was difficult to talk about.
âTell me about your situation, Iâll see if it can be treated. If it canât, Iâll let you know.â
The woman gathered up her courage and told Nydia her problem. After listening, Nydia felt that it might be treatable.
She checked the womanâs pulse, âYou have a cold body, and do your periods sometimes come and irregularly?â
âYes, thatâs right!â
âDo you have trouble sleeping and often canât fall asleep?â
âYes!â The woman was somewhat excited.
âYour problem is indeed a bit tricky. Have you been to the hospital?â
âI have, but itâs been back and forth and very annoying, so I just wanted to try here.â
Nydia nodded, âOkay, Iâll write you a prescription first. Drink it for four days and see how you feel. Take the medicine before bedtime, and donât stay up late recently. Set a time for yourself, when the alarm rings, take the medicine and go to sleep.â
âWhat if I canât sleep?â
âIt should work, but if you canât sleep, let me know. Hereâs my contact information.â
âOkay, thank you.â
Nydia handed her a sticky thing, âPut this on your belly when you sleep.â
âOkay, thank you!â
âIâm leaving tomorrow. If you have any follow-up questions, call me or come here to find the master.â
The woman nodded, looking very grateful.
After seeing off the female patient, Nydia began to pack her things. She was somewhat anxious about how to face Jesse tomorrow.
The next morning, she got up early and bid farewell to the master.
âMaster, Iâm leaving.â
âOkay, go forth on your path with determination, and remember to do more good deeds.â
âOkay!â
Six hours later, she returned, standing at the doorstep of the Pascallâs house.
