Chapter 331 Why are You Divorcing Me?
Reborn Before The Divorce
Jesseâs attitude was very clear, and it was hard for Rosalind to pretend not to understand. Sara stood up, looking unhappy, âYes, I am an outsider. I shouldnât meddle in your affairs. I thought we were all friends, and I couldnât just sit by and watch you in trouble. But now, it seems that I have overstepped my bounds and ruined your marriage. I apologize and wish you both happiness!â She finished speaking and left. Rosalind didnât say anything to stop her, she didnât know how to deal with the situation.
Sibley came back and met Sara, who had just walked out with a cold expression on her face. âWhat happened? Jesse, Nydia, youâre here. Why did Dr. Duncan leave with a cold face?â
âShe was driven away by your brother. He doesnât know whatâs wrong with him and wants to make enemies with the whole world, including us!â Rosalind began to speak sarcastically.
Sibley didnât know what to say. One was his mother, and the other was his brother. He looked towards the kitchen and said, âThe food is ready. Letâs eat first.â
âI donât want to eat. Weâre leaving.â Jesse didnât want to eat here.
Rosalind angrily said, âYou wonât even eat? You ungrateful child!â
Nydia tugged on Jesseâs sleeve and said, âWhy donât we eat here?â
Jesse looked up at Nydia and saw the the words in her eyes: âIâm so hungry!â They decided to stay and eat.
The atmosphere at the dinner table was somewhat gloomy. Sibley asked why the two children hadnât come.
Rosalind coldly snorted, âThey came to demand an explanation. Of course, they wouldnât bring their children.â
âDemand an explanation?â
âYour brother is too possessive of Nydia. When I accidentally hit her forehead with a cup, he came over to question me, his own mother. I really raised a good son.â Rosalind spoke with anger.
âYou hit Nydia with a cup? Mom, what are you doing? Youâre an educated woman and a respectable person. How can you behave like a vulgar woman?â Sibley was shocked.
Rosalind was so angry that she wanted to flip the table. Her son and daughter were actually siding with Nydia? Was this madness? What kind of world was this?!
âI might as well hang myself with a rope. You can pretend that Iâm not your mother!â
âMom, please calm down. Weâre all very busy, and you really shouldnât bother us. Weâve grown up and have our own lives. Donât add to our troubles. Jesseâs mood is already not good, so donât make things worse.â
Rosalindâs heart was pounding and her blood pressure was rising as she became angrier. âYou, you allâ¦â She gasped while holding her chest.
Sibley quickly approached her and helped her up. âMom, calm down, take deep breaths, donât faint.â
âI think you all want me dead!â Rosalind exclaimed.
âNonsense! Donât you want to see Molly and Tavish grow up? Donât you want to hold your great-grandchildren?â Sibley replied.
Upon hearing this, Rosalind felt better. She suddenly felt clear-headed and opened her eyes, looking at Sibley. âDo you need to be more proactive? Youâre not getting any younger. Your brotherâs child is almost five years old, and you donât even have a partner!â
Sibley returned to her seat and ate in silence.
Rosalind thought to herself that she must be doing something wrong. She had angered everyone. She needed to be more careful and not so rash, or she wouldnât be able to handle Nydia.
Other peopleâs sons and daughters-in-law were obedient, but she didnât expect her own daughter-in-law to be obedient. She only hoped that her son could help her a little, but the result was that she was useless as a mother.
After dinner, Jesse and Nydia left. On their way back, Nydia couldnât help but ask, âWhy didnât you mention our divorce?â
âAre you teaching me how to do things?â Jesse replied.
âJesse, talk nicely!â Nydia said, exasperated.
âI have my own plans. Just take care of your own things,â Jesse replied.
âSara really wants to marry you. I donât think sheâll give up. What do you think?â Nydia asked.
âWhat does that have to do with me?â Jesse sneered.
âDonât you consider it?â
Jesse chuckled, âWhat about you and Zane?â
âWhat?â Nydia was caught off guard.
âWhen you ran away from home, Zane came looking for you. I donât think he was so free that he would specially come to Linshui Town to find you. Did you make him worry?â
Nydia was taken aback. She knew that Zane had come to find her, but she didnât know why he had come.
Jesse had known about Zane looking for her for a long time, but why was he only mentioning it now?
âAre you divorcing me because Zane came to find me?â Nydia asked.
âYouâre overthinking things,â Jesse replied coldly.
âThen why are you divorcing me? Youâre the one whoâs bullying me!â Nydia exclaimed.
She was angry at the thought that Jesse had brought up the divorce as soon as he came back, even though she had considered waiting until he recovered from his leg injury before divorcing him. Was it because Jesse had beaten her to it?
Jesse was about to speak, but considering that there was a driver and Vergil in the car, he held back and just looked unhappy.
Nydia stopped talking and decided to have a good talk with Jesse about this at night.
âMommy, Daddy!â
âMolly, what happened to your face?â Nydia noticed a tiny blood mark on Mollyâs cheek, which was easily noticeable because Molly was very fair-skinned.
âI got into a fight with Sherry,â Molly said without feeling wronged, but rather proud. âShe couldnât beat me at all and just cried.â
Nydia frowned, âYou fought with each other. Why didnât the teacher call me?â
âBecause Sherry doesnât dare to tell the teacher. Remember the bet she lost last time? She refused to learn how to bark like a dog and crawl on the ground.â
She helped Molly deal with the small wound on her face. Although the wound was small, it could not be ignored, and Nydia was worried about scarring.
âHow did she scratch you then?â It should be referring to a nail scratch.
âA boy helped her. She grabbed me when the boy held me, and scratched my face with her nails. I didnât completely dodge it and got scratched, but I made her fall on her butt and she was in pain.â
âMommy will take you to school tomorrow.â Nydia felt that according to Sherry and her daughterâs nature, something was bound to happen tomorrow, and she had to follow them.
Molly and Tavish were happy to hear that Nydia would take them to school and ate an extra bowl of rice that night.
Now the two children were sleeping in their room again, and Nydia and Jesse could have space to talk.
Nydia went to the study and knocked twice on the table, âWhereâs the divorce agreement? Show it to me again.â
Jesse was stunned because he had crumpled the divorce agreement into a ball and threw it away last time, and he hadnât made a new one yet, thinking he still had three months left.
âAre you planning to divorce right away?â His face had already darkened.
âWhatâs with that expression? If I divorce right away, doesnât it suit your wishes?â Nydia sneered.
âIf youâre not divorcing right away, why look at the divorce agreement?â Jesseâs expression eased a bit.
Nydia wanted to provoke him, but considering that if she succeeded, she would not be able to treat his leg, she thought better of it.
âI want to see if thereâs anything that needs to be added. I have three months to think about it carefully and maximize my interests.â
Jesse pulled the corner of his mouth and didnât say anything.
âYou havenât answered me why you want to divorce me yet.â Nydia wasnât going to let him off the hook.
