Chapter 354 Nydia’s Identity as the Boss is Discovered
Reborn Before The Divorce
Jesse and Nydia didnât bother with Xavier and his wife. To them, a clown like Xavier was not worth their attention, especially now that the mistress had appeared. They could easily tear them apart for a year or two.
It was still early when they returned to the city, so Nydia went home first before heading to the restaurant.
âBoss, you finally came,â the manager breathed a sigh of relief upon seeing her. He was afraid she would stand up the customers again, as there had been a previous incident.
âGo attend to your duties.â
Nydia warmed up in her own kitchen first. Her body had been subjected to intense exercise over the past few days, and her arms were still sore, but she still had to prepare the dishes for the customers who had made reservations.
There werenât too many people for lunch, so after she finished cooking, she quickly gave herself a few shots to ease the pain in her arms. Otherwise, her arms might not be able to hold up during dinner.
Seven oâclock in the evening.
A waiter hurriedly ran over to her.
âBoss, thereâs a commotion in the lobby.â
âLet the manager handle it, and send me a video!â
It was not unusual for people to quarrel in the restaurant, so she wasnât too worried.
However, when the waiter showed her the video, she realized that the people who were quarreling were Willette, Barclay, and Cuthbert.
How come this guy could always meet Willette every time he came? What kind of fate was this?
The cause, of course, was Cuthbert looking for trouble.
He was clearly a thorn in the flesh.
âOh, we meet again. Why did you bring a different man today?â Willette glared at Cuthbert, her face turning red with anger. âDo you have a problem? Last time, I came with my friends, and this time, I came with my husband!â
âSo this gentleman is your husband. Nice to meet you.â Cuthbert went over to shake hands with Barclay, who didnât look very happy.
First, he didnât like Cuthbert, who was always looking for trouble, and second, Cuthbert had said that Willette had brought a different man with her.
âI remember now. Your name is Barclay, right? On your wedding day, your wifeâs lover came out and said the child in her belly was his?â Cuthbertâs words made Barclayâs face turn ashen. âWeâre not acquainted, and I donât want to talk to you!â
âDonât be angry, donât be angry. I just mentioned what was on my mind. You guys go ahead and eat, I wonât disturb you.â Cuthbert walked back to his seat.
Willette and Barclay were not in the mood to eat anymore, and Barclay was about to leave.
âBarclay, donât go yet. Iâve reserved the chefâs signature dish at this restaurant. Letâs finish it before we leave. Donât listen to that crazy dogâs nonsense.â Willette grabbed Barclayâs sleeve and pleaded.
âYou think I havenât embarrassed myself enough?â Barclay was angry.
Willette felt very wronged. âAre you still blaming me?â
Barclay took a deep breath to calm himself down. âOkay, letâs wait until we finish the chefâs signature dish before we leave.â
He couldnât afford to fall out with Willette now. The company hadnât recovered yet, and this round of operations wasnât over yet. He had to be patient, or the Evans family would really be ruined by him.
Cuthbert, who was not far away, was surprised to see Willette and Barclay not leaving. âTheyâre not leaving? Is Barclay turning into a turtle? Heâs really good at enduring things?â
âCuthbert, donât go too far. The restaurant owner is the one who will suffer if thereâs trouble in their restaurant,â Albi scolded his son.
âI know when to stop. Didnât I stop causing trouble?â Cuthbert sneered.
Their food arrived.
âDad, try it and see if it tastes like Uncleâs cooking.â Albi tried three dishes and felt a bit of the taste of failure.
âIt really does taste like it. Itâs strange. Has your younger uncle taken on an apprentice?â
âI donât know. He hasnât been home for a long time, probably because he knows heâll be pressured to get married if he goes home, so he doesnât bother coming back.â
âHave you seen the restaurant owner?â
âI wanted to see him last time, but he didnât want to meet me. He was very mysterious.â
âCuthbert even suspects that itâs Chef Cannonâs restaurant.â
Albi thought for a moment. âIt seems like something he would do, but he went to the capital a few days ago. I donât know if heâs back yet.â
âDad, the restaurant owner only comes on Sundays. Iâm starting to think that it might be my younger uncleâs restaurant.â
âI have an idea.â Cuthbert lowered his voice. âLetâs wait around here. When the restaurant closes, the owner will come out, and we just need to see if my younger uncle is there.â
âIâve noticed that this restaurant has three entrances, and one of them seems to be specifically for the owner. The owner should come out from that entrance,â said Darius.
âDarius is reliable,â Albi praised.
Cuthbert, âWhat? Isnât this the method I suggested?â
âWhat if itâs really Uncle? Will he be angry if we confront him like this?â
âIt wonât come to that. I just need to bring him back home. Your grandfather has been talking about him for a long time.â
After they finished eating, they went for a walk outside first. After all, the owner couldnât be expected to get off work so early.
According to Cuthbertâs understanding, the restaurant would close at 9 oâclock, so they wouldnât have to wait too long.
Nydia had no idea that someone was going to confront her. She had been busy all day and her hands and feet were no longer her own.
If Jesse hadnât been so fierce with her, she wouldnât have been so tired. Thinking about having to endure his ruthless treatment again tonight when she went back to sleep with him, she felt uneasy.
After packing her things, she walked straight out from the kitchen door.
âWhy is it a woman?â
Suddenly three burly men appeared, scaring Nydia who immediately grabbed her pepper spray.
âNydia? Are you Nydia?â
The voice sounded familiar.
Nydia took a closer look, âMr. Cannon?â
Albi, Cuthbert, and someone whose name she didnât know.
âHow come you guys are here?â
âWe were going to ask you the same thing. How did you come out from this door? Whereâs the restaurant owner?â Cuthbert was dumbfounded. He had been waiting for his nephew, and when he saw a woman, he had been thinking that his nephew had found a girlfriend. He didnât expect it to be Nydia.
Nydia didnât know how to answer his question. She stood frozen in place, her mind spinning.
Darius, on the other hand, asked, âYouâre the owner of this restaurant, right?â
Because they didnât see anyone else come out of this door, it meant that the person who had been cooking in the kitchen earlier was Nydia.
Nydia looked at Darius, surprised by his perceptiveness.
If it were someone else, she would have denied it, but standing in front of her was Albi.
âMr. Cannon, Iâm the one who opened this restaurant. Iâm the owner of the Sunday special.â Might as well admit it. Itâs not like itâs anything to be ashamed of.
âWhat? Itâs you?â Cuthbert was still in shock. âBut that makes sense. Your cooking was really delicious when you served it to me and Darius earlier.â He understood now.
âYou guys havenât been waiting for me to come out, have you?â
The three of them suddenly felt embarrassed.
