Chapter 356 Nydia gets angry at Jesse
Reborn Before The Divorce
Jesse immediately denied it, but then admitted it.
âWell, I wanted to give it a try.â
âAre you crazy?â She had just started feeling better, and he dared to hold her? It wasnât a dream, he had actually carried her to the bathroom and back! If she had been more alert at the time, she wouldnât have let him do that!
âI asked you earlier if you had lifted anything heavy, and you said no.â
âYouâre not heavy.â
ââ¦â Damn it, she didnât know how to respond to that!
Nydia was furious but couldnât express it. After all, he was holding her, and she couldnât show any other emotions. Otherwise, Jesse, being as smart as he was, would start to suspect and wouldnât cooperate properly. He might even go crazy again because of her blocking his five senses.
She decided to ignore him.
âArenât you going to give me a massage?â
âForget it!â Nydia replied angrily.
âWhy are you reacting so strongly?â Jesse frowned.
Nydiaâs face stiffened, then she said angrily, âIâm just worried that youâll hurt yourself again after making so much progress!â
âAm I that important to you?â Jesse looked at her eyes and saw her urgent emotions. Was she caring for him?
âOf course you are!â She yelled, noticing his change in expression. âOtherwise, youâll get angry again.â
Jesseâs expression darkened. âDonât worry. Youâll be far away from me by then, and you wonât see me go crazy!â
Nydia was stunned. She didnât expect Jesse to suddenly become unhappy.
âHeyâ¦â She poked his arm.
âDonât touch me!â His icy tone sent a chill down Nydiaâs spine, and she immediately lost interest in comforting him.
She lay down and looked at the ceiling. He was always like this, sometimes showering her with love and attention, and sometimes dragging her into hell with him, leaving her suffering and tormented by the chains of hell.
The bedroom was warm enough, but she felt cold and pulled the blanket tighter. In doing so, she accidentally pulled Jesseâs side of the blanket over. She didnât notice this and just felt movement next to her. She looked over and saw Jesse getting up.
She stared at him, thinking that he didnât want to sleep in the same bed as her. âIf you donât want to sleep, then donât. If youâre tough enough, sleep on the floor!â
But then she saw Jesse grab another blanket and come back to bed.
They each covered themselves with their own blankets, clearly on the same bed but seemingly in two different worlds.
They slept with their backs to each other, with a significant gap in between.
Worried that Jesse wouldnât be able to sleep, Nydia quietly took out something to help him fall asleep.
Once she was sure that Jesse was asleep, she got up to check his legs.
After figuring out what was wrong, she felt both angry and relieved.
The damage wasnât too severe, but the treatment would need to be adjusted, which might prolong the healing process.
Looking at Jesseâs peaceful sleeping face, Nydia couldnât help but want to bite him.
Did he have to hold her when he knew that her legs were so bad, just to show his strength?
It was a pity that she wasnât in her right mind at the time.
Otherwise, she would have been able to experience what it was like to be carried like a princess.
It had been almost six years since they got married, and she still hadnât experienced it. That was a bit regretful.
When Jesse woke up in the morning, he felt that his legs werenât as painful as before, but there was still some discomfort.
He saw Nydia get up, so he hesitated for a moment before speaking. âI used up the bath sachet you gave me before.â
Nydia looked at him in surprise. She didnât expect him to ask for more, even though she knew he had been using them and was almost out.
She was also surprised that he asked after their argument the night before. âIâll give you some tonight.â She didnât want to tease him since the sachet was important, and she didnât want to risk his legs not getting better.
Jesse looked away, even though he tried to keep a straight face, he was clearly a bit embarrassed. During breakfast, Nydia asked their two children what they had been up to these past few days.
âWe were good and didnât do anything bad!â Molly was the first to speak up.
âIs that so? Why do I feel like Molly saying that is a sign of guilt?â Nydia laughed.
âIâm not guilty. Otherwise, why donât you ask brother?â Molly quickly passed the blame to her brother.
Tavish told Nydia briefly about their past few days, but he left out the intellectual challenge he and Molly participated in. They both made it into the top three thousand, and each had earned one hundred dollars in their accounts, which was equivalent to the entry fee. If they continued to advance, they would earn even more money.
For Molly, this isnât doing something bad, itâs making money!
Nydia thinks that both of her kids are less troublesome than Jesse.
After arriving at the company, she prepared for the meeting as she was attending a designer seminar and needed to present during the meeting.
Before the meeting, she waited for the stock market to open.
When it opened, she saw that Evansâ stocks had indeed opened high, so she decided to buy in. According to the current situation, Evansâ stocks would continue to rise, and she could make a quick profit. Then she took a look at Pascallâs stocks, which were making her uneasy as they were in the red.
She clicked on the discussion forum and saw that everyone was cursing.
âHurry up and sell, I suspect that Pascallâs will hit the limit down today!â
âDoesnât Jesse have anything to say? Is he being a coward?â
âHey, Jessie, are you trading stocks?â Linda came to the company today and saw Nydia looking at the stock market.
âYeah, just trying to make some extra money.â
âPascallâs stock is off to a terrible start today, and I have a feeling it will continue to fall.â
âYeah, itâs really bad.â Nydia smiled awkwardly; after all, it was her own stock, and she felt a bit guilty for the shareholders. âYou didnât buy any, did you?â
âI did.â
Nydia was stunned. âWhen did you buy it? Did you buy it before?â
âJust now.â Linda showed her the transaction record, and it was indeed just bought.
âYouâre so brave!â
âNo, no, no, I trust you guys. Iâll buy more when it falls further, I believe it will rise again.â
âJessie, why donât you buy some too? It must be fun to make money with your husbandâs money.â Linda joked.
Nydia was planning to buy some too, but she thought sheâd wait for it to fall a bit more because, based on her understanding of Barclay, his shady business tactics were likely not limited to this.
âIâll buy later, see if I can buy at a lower price.â
âWhen you buy, let me know, and weâll do it together.â
Nydia was speechless. âDo you really think so highly of me?â
âI donât know why, but I always feel like you have a halo around you.â Linda chuckled. âDonât feel pressured, I believe in Pascallâs. This will only be a temporary setback, and it may take off soon!â
âOkay, letâs go to the meeting.â They called Maddie to join them, and they all went to the conference room for the meeting.
After the director spoke, it was Nydiaâs turn to give a summary report of the seminar and convey its core content.
âConsultant, is this what was discussed at the seminar? Iâm worried that Nydia wasnât paying attention,â Taylor was the first to challenge.
Zane frowned. âYes, that was what was discussed at the seminar, but what are you trying to say?â
âBecause Nydia went to the capital not for work, but for a love affair.â
âYou went to the capital because Jesse went there on a business trip, right?â
