Chapter 380 I’m just stingy!
Reborn Before The Divorce
Barclay looked at Willette fiercely, and the hostility in his eyes startled her. She immediately shouted at Nydia, âWhat nonsense are you talking about?â
Jesse frowned, âItâs too noisy.â He immediately turned his wheelchair to leave.
Cade tried to calm him down and scolded Willette, âWillette, calm down. Donât let Jasper ruin your sisterhood. Heâs a madman.â
Nydia shrank her neck uneasily, and her eyes turned rosy, making her look pitiful.
âBarclay, you know Jasper is crazy. He deliberately said those things to cause a rift between you and Willette. Youâve been together with her for so many years, canât you trust her?â If Barclay hadnât seen Willette and Jasper kissing or sent someone to follow Willette, he would have believed that Jasper was just talking nonsense.
But he knew the truth, and now he believed that Jasper was the father of Willetteâs unborn child.
So, was Jasper trying to mess with him?
âIf it was Jasper causing trouble, then I apologize to you.â Barclay was willing to be flexible.
Jesse nodded but didnât say anything.
âI told you it was a misunderstanding. Now that itâs cleared up, we should stick together as a family.â Cade breathed a sigh of relief but was surprised that it wasnât Jesse who caused the trouble.
âMr. Malone, did you forget something?â Jesse reminded him.
Cade froze, and then he understood that Jesse wasnât going to let it go so easily.
âIâm not a generous person. Not making things worse is the best outcome. Donât push your luck.â
Jesse didnât want to waste any more time.
âThe food in this restaurant is just so-so when the owner is not around. Weâll leave now.â
Nydia felt confused. Was Jesse praising her or criticizing her?
âHey, my chefâs food tastes good, okay? How can it not be delicious?â Nydia didnât believe it and thought Jesse was just nitpicking.
âItâs not as good as yours. Is that okay?â
Who compliments someone with such a confrontational tone?!
âWhat do you think Barclay will do next?â She was looking forward to seeing them fight like dogs.
In the previous life, Willette had manipulated Jasper and was comfortable between him and Barclay. Jasper had fully displayed his sycophantic traits, but Willette had never gotten pregnant. This time, she was pregnant, which was significant for Jasper. He would never give up his child and it was also his leverage to be with Willette.
âI donât care,â Jesse said disdainfully.
Watching Jesse act so wildly, Nydia felt warm in her heart. This was how Jesse should be, instead of being manipulated by Willette and Barclay in the previous life, and dragging his feet.
This time, he should be able to create his business empire well, and no one can bring him down!
Sensing Nydiaâs gaze, Jesse looked over, feeling a sting in his heart, like a beeâs sting. It wasnât that painful, but he couldnât ignore it.
Her eyes were exceptionally bright in this dark car, like a light on a vast sea, leading him in its direction.
If she looked at another man like thatâ¦
He would tear up the divorce agreement.
Nydia turned her gaze away and looked out the window. She lowered the window, enjoying the cold wind, but feeling warm inside. She squinted her eyes and smiled.
Thankful for her rebirth, she would try to help those in need and repay the gifts of this life.
Nydia messaged the store manager to keep an eye on the private room and let her know if the guests leave. But Willette and Barclay were still in the room at the Moon Palace.
The atmosphere in the room was heavy and oppressive.
âOkay, letâs go home,â Cade said, feeling that staying any longer was pointless.
âDad, I got myself into this mess, Iâll deal with it alone and wonât trouble you,â Barclayâs words surprised Cade. He thought Barclay would ask him for help, but he said it wasnât necessary.
âWillette, weâre already married and have our own family, letâs try not to bother our parents too much. Letâs go home first,â he said to Willette.
Willette had been worried that Barclay was still suspicious of her, but he seemed calm at the moment.
âWhat are you talking about, youâre my only daughter, why wouldnât I take care of you? Letâs leave it at that for today, and weâll think of a solution tomorrow.â
They split up at the restaurant and Willette followed Barclay.
However, they didnât go back to their new home. Instead, they went to Barclayâs parentsâ house.
âMy son, why have you lost so much weight?â Mrs. Evans saw Barclay and felt very sorry for him. Then she glared at Willette disapprovingly and said, âHow did you take care of Barclay?â
âMom, please stop. Iâm already annoyed. Whereâs dad? Iâll go talk to him.â
âHe hasnât come back yet. Iâll call you when he does.â
âOkay.â
Barclay and Willette went to their room.
âBarclay, my dad will definitely help us. Donât worry too much.â Willette took the initiative to ease the tension.
âDid Jasper ask you to do a paternity test?â Barclay asked calmly, his face expressionless.
âYou have to trust me. Heâs just crazy!â Willette explained.
âI trust you, but heâs making things difficult for us.â Barclay let out a deep sigh.
âI have to talk to him, but if I go, he definitely wonât see me. Even if he does, heâll just mock me.â He pinched his brow, looking very distressed.
Willette felt sorry for him, âWhy donât I go talk to him? Ask him to stop doing this.â
âI canât let you take risks. If he does something to youâ¦â
âIâll be careful. How about this? Iâll make an appointment with him and you can hide nearby. If something happens, Iâll scream!â
Barclay gently stroked Willetteâs face and whispered, âWillette, Iâm sorry. Itâs my fault. Otherwise, we wouldnât be in this messâ¦â
âDonât say that. Weâre in this together now, and weâll definitely get through it!â
âThank you, Willette!â
Barclay hugged Willette, a calculating smile appearing at the corner of his mouth.
He asked Willette to call Jasper and make an appointment to meet him the next day.
Jasper was happy to receive Willetteâs call and naturally agreed to meet her.
The next day at noon, Willette met Jasper, while Barclay was in the next room.
âJasper, have you been behind everything that has happened recently? Are you doing this to Barclay?â
âAm I doing this to him? If he didnât do it, whatâs there to be afraid of?â
âI beg you, please stop bothering him, okay? Iâm begging you!â
Jasper looked at Willette, âThen come with me to do a paternity test!â
