Jesse raised an eyebrow. “My name is what?”

“Cripple,” Nydia immediately corrected herself, sweetly calling him by the nickname.

He chuckled and said, “Molly really follows your lead.”

“Let’s have Acoustic Pictures interview us tomorrow.”

“Huh? Aren’t you afraid they’ll mess things up?”

“As long as it’s a live broadcast, it’ll be fine.”

“Aren’t we just giving them more traffic this way?”

Nydia didn’t like Acoustic Pictures very much. It was an unscrupulous third-rate media company that she felt was too bottom-line oriented. She wasn’t too keen on letting such a company make money.

“That press release we put out earlier came from Acoustic Pictures. It makes sense for them to do the interview now; otherwise, if we go to another company, they’ll come crawling out of the woodwork trying to grab traffic at all costs.”

“I guess you’re right,” Jesse said.

Nydia thought Jesse had a really good head on his shoulders and saw things from a big-picture perspective. No wonder he could become the heir of the Pascall family and revive Pascall Group with ease.

At that moment, Jesse’s phone rang – it was someone delivering fingerprints for him.

Nydia got excited and immediately wanted to go out but Jesse stopped her. “Stay here and don’t move; I’ll bring them in myself.”

She looked down at her outfit – okay, maybe going outside wasn’t such a good idea after all.

It didn’t take long before Jesse returned with six finger covers in small bags labeled with which finger they belonged to: three for his right hand fingers and three for his left hand fingers.

“You’re so thoughtful,” Nydia exclaimed in surprise as she didn’t know which fingerprint Cade used but Jesse brought six just in case none of them worked out well enough for him!

“It never hurts to be prepared; if these six don’t work then he’s being overly cautious,” he replied calmly Usually fingerprints are taken from thumbs or index fingers only but Jesse also considered middle fingers as well when preparing these covers “How did you get these?” Nydia asked curiously “Wine glasses.” He only said two words about how he obtained them Nydia remembered when she followed Jesse over to see Cade earlier during their search mission where Cade had held wine glasses made of glass that would easily leave behind fingerprints “Is that servant yours?”

“Yeah.”

“Don’t tell me this banquet is hosted by you?”

“Nope – there’s no need for me personally host one since I can just insert some people into other events instead without spending so much money hosting one myself,” explained Jessie matter-of-factly This made Nydia laugh: “Do you even know what ‘spending too much money’ means?””Of course, wouldn’t it be better to use this money to buy you a dress and some jewelry?”

“…” Damn! She’s been flirted with!

Nydia was scrolling through her phone when she suddenly noticed that she wasn’t trending on Twitter anymore.

“Jesse, did you pay to remove me from the Twitter trends?”

“No.”

Jesse realized something was wrong when Nydia asked him that question. He checked his phone and saw that Nydia wasn’t trending anymore. The news about the old man being hit by a car had completely disappeared.

Nydia searched for related content and found people saying:

“[Did they remove her from the trends? Looks like this is really happening.]”

“Twitter is all about money. They removed her from the trends just like that. Do they have any conscience?”

It was strange how Nydia disappeared from Twitter’s hot topics so quickly. Given how much attention this incident had received, it should have stayed on top of the list for at least a day before dropping down in rank.

“Do you think someone helped me or hurt me by removing me from the trends?” Nydia asked Jesse.

“It doesn’t matter. We’ll clarify everything in tomorrow’s interview.”

“What about The Butlers? How will they react?”

“They can do whatever they want. Let them try their best to cause trouble if they can because if there are people behind them, then things won’t end here.”

The main concern now was finding out who was behind The Butlers.

“It’s almost Christmas now, and knowing The Butlers’ temperaments, I doubt they’ll let things go so easily,” Jesse said thoughtfully.

Since The Butlers were far away from home during Christmas time, it meant that they must have come all this way for a reason other than just finding Nydia – otherwise it would be disrespectful towards her efforts to help them out.

On Monday morning at work, Nydia tried figuring out how she could get into Cade’s office and open his safe without getting caught – which would be difficult given Cade’s cautious nature.

Perhaps she should first find an opportunity to sneak into Malone Family headquarters and take a look around there instead.

She got lost in thought while attending meetings until everyone started staring at her.

Then came Taylor’s light laughter as he joked: “You guys better watch out working with Nydia; it could be dangerous since one mistake might lead us getting run over by her car.”

“Taylor,” scolded their supervisor angrily as he felt Taylor has become more outrageous lately – too full of himself these days!”I’m not making this up, I saw it on the news. And this happened right outside our company’s doorstep. I don’t know if it will affect us, but she already caused us a lot of losses before and now she’s back again.”

“Nydia, whoever gets involved with you seems to have bad luck,” Taylor said.

Nydia felt offended by Taylor’s words but didn’t show it on her face. Instead, she looked at the director and said, “Director, later tonight I will accept media interviews to explain this matter. It won’t bring any negative impact to the company.”

“Hmm,” the director replied.

Lately, everyone had been talking about Taylor behind her back so much that even the director decided to talk to her alone.

“Taylor, your attitude is completely wrong right now.”

“What’s wrong with my attitude? Did I say something wrong? You all are afraid to speak up because Nydia is Mr. Malone’s adopted daughter. That’s what really needs fixing here! I dare say and do things; isn’t that good?”

The director was furious as he felt that Taylor misunderstood his intentions but still acted like she was in the right.

“Don’t talk about anything without concrete evidence in future.”

“Well then we might as well stop talking altogether since there are many things without concrete evidence out there – like human origins which are still being debated today!”

The director realized he couldn’t control her anymore and gave up trying.

Whatever! Let it be! If Taylor had someone backing her up then let him find out who that person was.

Acoustic Pictures came over for an interview with Jesse and Nydia so after work Nydia went straight over to Pascall Group.

“It’s such an honor for our small company to be able interview Mr. Pascall and Mrs. Pascall themselves! Excuse me if I get too excited during this live broadcast,” said a male host wearing black-framed glasses and a black suit who couldn’t compare himself with hosts from larger companies.

“We’re live now so please try your best not get too excited or else we won’t be able continue smoothly,” Nydia reminded him while smiling gracefully.

The host suddenly felt embarrassed as he understood what Nydia meant by those words.

“Yes indeed! Can’t act like someone who hasn’t seen much of life yet since everyone has emotions along with their strengths and weaknesses,” laughed the host while taking deep breaths trying make himself look calm down more quickly than usual .

Nydia just smiled without saying anything further .”Ladies and gentlemen, we now enter the main topic. I believe you are all curious about how Mrs. Pascall failed to recognize her poor relatives and even attempted to kill her own grandfather.” The statement was quite aggressive, already condemning Nydia’s actions.

“Acoustic Pictures has always been known as an unscrupulous media outlet, and today I have finally experienced it firsthand. The rumors were true.”

“So Mrs. Pascall denies her actions? Does she deny intentionally hitting her grandfather?” The host still had a smile on his face.

“First of all, please call me Nydia; secondly, I don’t know that old man at all, and I didn’t intentionally hit him; thirdly, we took him to the hospital for examination and he only suffered some soft tissue injuries.”

Nydia answered in a calm and organized manner.

“Oh? Do you not like being called Mrs. Pascall?” The host glanced at Jesse with a mysterious smile on his face.
