Chapter 405: You are the Crazy Devil Who Dotes on His Wife!
Reborn Before The Divorce
âItâs not like that. Being called Mrs. Pascall in this kind of situation makes me feel like Iâm just an accessory to him. After all, isnât the main focus of todayâs interview Mr. Pascall?â
However, the host was surprised and spoke up, âTodayâs main focus is not you, itâs Mr. Pascall. Weâre just starting off by asking the audienceâs most pressing question.â
Nydia was equally surprised and said, âHuh? The main focus isnât me?â Then she pouted and looked at Jesse saying, âHe said the main focus isnât me.â
âLetâs go then,â Jesse said calmly.
From the beginning until now, aside from greeting them earlier on, this was only Jesseâs second sentence.
The host was dumbfounded; they were really leaving?
âMr. Pascall, didnât we agree beforehand that we would mainly be interviewing you?â
âWhen did we say that? Wasnât it because you spread malicious rumors about Mrs. Pascall Nydia that we agreed to let you interview us?â
âOtherwise with your companyâs credentials?â Jesse coldly retorted without giving any face to the host.
The smile on the hostâs face couldnât be maintained anymore.
He had always relied on his thick skin and word games throughout his career and almost always succeeded but encountered a setback with Jesse and Nydia here.
âIs Mr. Pascall looking down on us?â
âArenât my words clear enough?â
The host avoided eye contact with Jesse as he felt he wouldnât be able to think rationally if he met those eyes again.
âIt has been said that Mr. Pascall is very arrogant and doesnât care about ordinary people at all; today I can see it for myself,â The host finished speaking before immediately turning towards Nydia with a sharp look in his eyes saying: âSo this is why Mrs. Pascal takes human life so lightly? She looks down even upon her own relatives; let alone people like us.â
Nydia sighed while holding her forehead: âPeople can be ordinary but they cannot have low self-esteem; what we are talking about is your companyâs level rather than referring directly to yourself â donât take things personally or there will never be any communication between us â do you want us to ask for another interviewer?â
Jesse looked at the host: âCan we talk properly or do we need someone else?â
âIâm scared now! Iâll compromise! Iâll speak properly!â The Host suddenly adopted an attitude of daring not speak out against them anymore: âIâm just a working man who is humble.â
At this time live bullet screen comments flooded in:
[Why does this Host sound so sarcastic?]
[Number one for being insincere!]âIâm on Jesse and Nydiaâs side with this one. The hostâs bias is too obvious.â
âDoesnât anyone else think that Jesse is a doting husband? I used to think he was a chauvinist, but he really respects Nydia!â
âMaybe itâs all an act? You guys are too young to know better!â
At this point, Nydia spoke up. âAcoustic Pictures spread rumors about me killing someone in a car accident before, and today weâre using their livestream to clear things up.â
âPlease show the video in a small window,â she requested.
A staff member went up to take care of it, and soon enough the video appeared in the small window. It clearly showed Alex running out and then lying down on his own accord; the car didnât hit him at all despite being only slightly far away from him. The brakes were applied just in time.
With this evidence, all previous claims fell apart.
âBut how do we know there wasnât any editing done? Otherwise why would there be so much blood on the old man?â someone asked.
Nydia smiled without saying anything.
âWhen we received the call earlier, we immediately rushed over. Miss Wagner sent us this video as soon as possible; there wasnât any time for editing,â said a man wearing police uniform who looked stern and upright.
âAs for the bloodstains on his face being chicken blood â our hospital has already issued proof that besides some scratches he sustained no other injuries from getting hit.â All these documents were available at hospitals for everyone to see clearly.
âCan you please switch over to where the old man is hospitalized?â Nydia stared down at the host while speaking.
The host realized they had lost control of everything by now; they could only comply with her request. At that moment, sure enough Alex appeared lively and well without any injuries while still lying on his hospital bed â even arguing with doctors!
âYouâre fine now sir; please leave as soon as possible since other patients need beds too.â
âIâm not fine yet! You guys just want me out so you can cheat me!â
âThatâs right! We wonât leave!â Idris also started shouting without noticing anyone filming them âIf you keep acting like this then weâll call security,â warned one doctor âDo it then! Are you scared of us? If you kick us out then weâll say that you teamed up with Jesse against us farmers â trying to force us into death!â
These words caused another explosion of comments in real-time chat once again.âDamn it! Iâm getting angry now!â
âOld people can be so disgusting. I used to trust them, but now I know theyâre just bad luck.â
Idris continued to rant, blaming Jesse and Nydia for the death of his grandson and the disappearance of his granddaughter. He accused them of lacking conscience.
The entire hospital room was filled with tension, making it impossible for other patients to rest.
The scene then shifted back to Nydiaâs side.
âThe car accident has been explained clearly. So please, Mrs. Pascallâ¦â The hostâs words were interrupted by Nydiaâs cold voice.
âDonât understand human language? Call me Miss Wagner.â
The host looked displeased; this was definitely his worst day on the job ever.
âMiss Wagner, is this gentleman your grandfather?â The host had no choice but to grit his teeth and ask the question even though he was already very angry. His boss had told him he could cause trouble because there were people above him who would protect him from Jesse if anything happened.
âIâve never seen this man before,â Nydia replied curtly.
âSo you canât confirm whether or not he is your grandfather?â The host became excited again at the possibility that something big might happen on air today.
âI donât know them at all. What do you think?â Nydia retorted back without waiting for a response from the host. âAlthough Iâd like to give an example saying that Iâm your grandmother â would you believe me? But given how thick-skinned you are, maybe you would believe me after all⦠so letâs not use that example.â
The host remained silent as Jesse spoke up: âEverything has been explained clearly; thereâs no need to waste any more time here today. Your company can release a statement clarifying everything later on if necessary â we have evidence if needed.â
Nydia stood up and walked behind Jesse, placing her hands on the back of his wheelchair.
âMr. Pascall,â she said confidently,âI think they wouldnât come all this way just for nothing â they must be genuine relatives after all⦠otherwise itâd be like using an egg against a rock!â
âIt seems like people who enjoy moral blackmailing are quite common these days,â Jesse responded calmly.
âOh yeah⦠and about Acoustic Pictures spreading rumors about me being Mrs. Pascall- well, I wonât let it slide. Iâll see them in court soon enough!â
Nydia pushed Jesse out of view as they left together.
Soon enough, the live broadcast ended with their figures disappearing from view altogether . The live broadcast had a huge audience, reaching over 20 million viewers. It was clear that Jesse and Nydia had become quite popular. The rushed nature of the broadcast likely prevented even more people from tuning in.
However, the host loudly questioned, âMr. Pascall, are you planning to attack Acoustic Pictures?â
