Chapter 406: Jesse is so arrogant

Everyone who was about to leave the live broadcast room stopped and stayed, their hands hovering over the exit button. They couldn’t believe what they were seeing. The host must be crazy! This was going to be good!

Suddenly, a cold voice floated through the air, “Acoustic Pictures wants to mess with me?”

The chat exploded with comments like “Wow! So badass!” Viewers who had their own idols immediately went to Acoustic Pictures’ official account. After all, Acoustic Pictures had used underhanded tactics against their idols before, spreading rumors and tarnishing reputations. Now they were all banding together to attack Acoustic Pictures.

All past grudges would be settled today!

Acoustic Pictures was sent trending on Twitter for a long time without dropping off. It even reached number one.

“Jesse, I know you didn’t buy this Twitter trend,” Nydia said happily when she saw the result. She had cleared her name and brought down Acoustic Pictures at the same time.

“There are many people who hate them because of their lies and rumors in the past,” Jesse replied calmly. “They gained some fans that way but there must have been someone behind it all.”

“Why do they want to mess with you so badly?” Nydia asked worriedly. She knew that Jesse could be ruthless towards anyone who crossed him.

“Isn’t it because of you?” Jesse asked nonchalantly.

Nydia was taken aback at first but then realized something important: “The Butler family is after me but also wants to see how much I mean to you? To see if you’ll stand up for me no matter what? That’s why they don’t care how dirty their tactics are as long as they achieve their goal?”

Jesse nodded in agreement, impressed by her quick understanding.

But who could this person behind everything possibly be?

Even Jesse couldn’t find out right away which was strange in itself.

“I have another live stream tonight so I need to go back now,” he said finally.”You can go home and have dinner with Molly and Tavish tonight then watch my stream later.”

“Okay.””By the way, don’t give me any tips or help me boost my performance. I just can’t stand the thought of your money going to Cade.” Nydia thought that after this live broadcast, she would be able to make up for all her losses and even turn a profit.

With the buzz from her interview earlier in the day still fresh, there would surely be a lot of people tuning into her live stream tonight.

Jesse had no objections. After Nydia left, he got down to business with Acoustic Pictures.

He called Vergil over and said, “Find someone to investigate Acoustic Pictures. I want results within a week.”

“Got it. They’re already public enemy number one,” Vergil replied.

They didn’t even need to get their hands dirty investigating what Acoustic Pictures had done; evidence would naturally come their way.

When Nydia returned to the office, everyone crowded around her. “Nydia! You were amazing! That host from Acoustic Pictures was such an asshole!”

“Isn’t that just their usual tactic? They interviewed a female celebrity before and that host was so disgusting – twisting words and distorting facts with all sorts of loaded questions. She fell into every trap they set for her during the interview and ended up getting dragged through mud on social media,” Nydia explained.

“Is Mr. Pascall really going after Acoustic Pictures?”

“I’m not sure about that – I don’t get involved in these things myself. If Acoustic Pictures is really doing something illegal though, there will be people who investigate them.” She spoke carefully; she couldn’t afford any slip-ups or mistakes being used against her later on.

After chatting with everyone for a bit longer about this matter, Nydia went off to find Linda so they could prepare for tonight’s livestream together.

Linda gushed over Mr. Pascall once again: “He’s truly become an icon among men nowadays! I think he might even become America’s sweetheart soon enough! Jesse has been trending on Twitter as ‘husband goals’ too!”

“Don’t jinx it by flaunting our love too much – those who do always end up getting burned eventually,” Nydia warned lightly.

If news of their divorce ever broke out while they were still showing off online like this… well then maybe she should have pursued entertainment instead of business management after all…

But Linda just laughed it off and patted Nydia’s shoulder reassuringly: “We’ll cross that bridge when we come to it – let’s focus on tonight first! Has everything been prepared at our factory yet?”

“Yes – we’ve been preparing for this livestream since forever ago!””I think we might not sell enough tonight. You should go sign the live broadcast agreement with Mr. Malone, otherwise it will feel like a loss. You could definitely break a record today.”

Nydia is very popular now, and there’s no problem with live streaming sales. It was evident from the previous two broadcasts, let alone tonight.

“Forget it, I don’t want to bother about these things anymore. Uncle Malone is my foster father and I’m showing filial piety by doing this for him. Otherwise, people might say that I’m ungrateful.”

“True, suddenly having grandparents can make you trend on Twitter; if you’re not good to Mr. Malone and his team, you’ll definitely get criticized even more harshly.”

Suddenly Linda quietly approached Nydia and asked in a low voice,” Does Taylor have something going on with Mr. Malone?”

“What?” Nydia was shocked; how did Linda know?

“Didn’t you smell anything fishy?”

Nydia continued to act clueless because she didn’t know how to answer and wanted to know how Linda found out.

“Well then forget it.”

“No way! Tell me!”

“But don’t rat me out or else I’ll be screwed.”

“Just tell me what happened!”

“One time when I went out for fun, I saw them together at first I wondered why Mr. Malone was so intimate with such a young woman but it turned out to be Taylor! It scared me silly!”

“… Do these two really want everyone else to know?”

Linda half-jokingly warned Nydia not give her away.

After chatting for a while they prepared for the live stream.

During the night’s broadcast many people flooded into their chat room which increased fivefold compared before.

“I came just here just see Nydia!”

“Goddess, I’ve already prepared money ready today so send us your links”

Everyone was enthusiastic as viewership continued climbing higher making both Linda and Nydia happy.

She whispered quietly “I’ll send you gifts later”.

“Huh?”

“Even though my own livestreaming is also work for our company but my popularity will increase too plus we have profit sharing so of course i should give gifts since i got lucky from being associated with you.”

“Okay then”. Nydia didn’t refuse.

The two-hour livestream went smoothly as every link they shared had many buyers causing revenue numbers skyrocketing.

“Daddy, mommy are amazing, the sales figure tonight can break fifty million yuan!”. Tavish exclaimed after seeing their total revenue calculated .”Mmm,” Jesse naturally noticed it, but he didn’t expect Nydia to have such strong marketing skills.

This is just selling clothes. If she sold other things, she could probably make billions in one night.

“Daddy, you better hold onto this treasure mommy tightly. If our family ever becomes poor and destitute, we can still rely on mommy’s live-streaming sales to support us.”

“Are you hoping for our family to go bankrupt?”

“A man becomes bad when he has money. I’m just reminding you not to forget your original intention!”

Jesse was speechless at his son’s words. He never expected him to say something like that.

Not only did they see Nydia’s ability to sell products, Cade also saw it and was very shocked. He thought Nydia was indeed a money tree.

Fortunately, they didn’t split the profits with Nydia this time or else they would have lost a lot of money.

Taylor next to them became angry when she saw how focused Cade was on watching Nydia sell products. “Are you interested in Linda or are you interested in Nydia?”
