Chapter 44
Reborn Before The Divorce
On the next morning, Nydia woke up early and made Salad Nicoise, and also squeezed two cups of grape juice.
Molly looked at the braised noodles with some confusion, then looked at Nydia and then back at the noodles.
âWhatâs wrong? Didnât you want to eat this last night? Why arenât you eating it now?â
âMommy, I think I dreamt about this Salad Nicoise last night. It smelled so good in my dream, but I couldnât taste it. In my dream, you said you would make it for me in the morning. I canât believe itâs actually here. Mommy, youâre amazing! You even knew what I dreamt about!â
âOh, really? Thatâs great, Molly. Try it and see if itâs good.â
Nydia struggled to hold back her laughter, and even Jesse couldnât help but smile. This little girl thought it was a dream. Does she remember she was supposed to scold him about something?
Tavish, on the other hand, looked confused. Whatâs going on? Why does the atmosphere feel strange?
After breakfast and sending the two children to school, Nydia and Jesse set out to find Martyâs accomplices.
Marty was very cooperative and took the initiative to call the person out, saying that it was dangerous now and that they needed to run away together. The person didnât suspect anything and packed up and came to find Marty.
But when he saw Jesse and Nydia, he turned and ran, but he was already surrounded.
âMarty, you betrayed me!â He glared at Marty angrily.
âBrother, I had no choice.â Marty was helpless. If he didnât betray his brother, then he would have to bear all the consequences alone, and he couldnât handle it.
After they caught the two of them, everything became clear.
When they returned home, they called Tavish to the study.
âTavish, weâve investigated the matter about you falling into the water.â Jesse spoke up. It seemed more impartial for him to explain the situation.
Tavish didnât say anything, just looked at the two of them.
âIt wasnât your mommy who did it. It was someone else. When your mommy jumped in to save you, she was caught by someone and couldnât struggle. She almost drowned.â Jesse stated the facts. Although he still didnât fully believe Nydia, he had to speak the truth about what happened.
After listening to Jesseâs words, Tavish looked at Nydia and pursed his small mouth. âDid you really jump down to save me?â
âYes, I jumped down as soon as I saw you in trouble.â
âWell, I know now. I misunderstood you. Iâm sorry!â Upon hearing the little guyâs apology, Nydia felt a sourness in her heart, and she squatted down and touched Tavishâs head.
âIt was mommyâs fault before that caused you to misunderstand. It wonât happen again. Can we make peace and shake hands?â Nydia reached out her hand, but Tavish did not respond immediately. He hesitated for a while. However, Nydia was very patient and just kept her hand out.
Finally, Tavish put his small hand in Nydiaâs palm, and Nydia held it. âTavish is man with a lot of strength.â
He smiled shyly, his cheeks slightly blushing. It turned out that being held by mommyâs hand was so warm, and mommyâs hand was so soft.
After the mother and son reconciled, Jesse asked Tavish to leave first because he had something to discuss with Nydia.
âMarty said that Willette was behind the scenes, what do you plan to do?â Jesse asked.
âMy idea is not to go after Willette for now, because she is very likely to turn around and accuse me of asking her to do it.â
Nydia knew Willette too well. In this situation, Willette would definitely shift the blame.
âHow do I know you didnât ask her to do it?â
Jesseâs words stunned Nydia, and her face instantly became unpleasant.
âIf you donât trust me, you can suspect me no matter what I do. I donât plan to explain anything.â Her tone was a bit aggressive, obviously angry.
âWhat? You get mad after just a few questions? Thatâs a sign of guilt.â
When Jesse said this, his face was calm, making it impossible to guess what he was thinking.
