Chapter 801 Worried Alex Took Molly

When they got back to the table, there were four dishes, one soup and two plates of dumplings, which kind of fully satisfied Alex’s requirements, mainly because of the time constraints and the fact that Nydia really didn’t have that much energy to make more elaborate dishes right now, and these were home-cooked dishes, and she thought that Alex would want to eat home-cooked food.

You could analyze it from what he ate last time.

After so many years abroad, what expensive dishes hadn’t he eaten? The only thing that was hard to eat was the dishes from home.

“Big grandpa, don’t be polite, eat a little more, eat well and your body will be stronger!” Molly said with a smile.

“Molly also eat more.”

“I don’t need to call, I eat a lot, soon to become a little fat girl.”

“Not fat, not fat at all.”

How Alex looked at Molly and how he liked her made Nydia tense up as well, not relieved at all.

She couldn’t say much in this situation right now.

But it was Tavish who spoke up, “Molly, less talking while eating.”

“Got it, I’ll eat my vegetables seriously.”

Then there was very little talking at the dinner table, only a sentence or two popping up occasionally to liven up the atmosphere.

“This dumpling tastes good.” Alex’s expression was enjoying himself as he ate the dumplings.

He had eaten dumplings a few times abroad, but the flavor was always lacking, and now that he was eating this dumpling made by Nydia, he was indescribably happy.

It’s true that it’s still good to be back home, it seems like everything is better back home.

“It’s good that you like it, have some more.”

“Your family is so lively and you have good food, I can’t even leave.” Alex’s words made both Jesse and Nydia’s hearts sink.

They were worried that Molly would say something along the lines of, “Then Grandpa stay and don’t go,” but Molly didn’t say anything and looked as if she was concentrating on her food and didn’t hear.

That was a relief.

Jesse changed the subject, “Let Nydia show you your body after you eat in a bit, you’ll have to cooperate if she treats you.”

“No problem.”

The promise was quick, but Jesse knew him too well, there was bound to be trouble behind him.

After dinner, Alex had Molly walk him and read with Molly again, looking just like a grandfather and granddaughter, a cozy image that only Alex could relate to, and everyone else only felt fear.

“Molly and Tavish, go take your baths, Mommy’s going to see Big Grandpa.”

“Okay.”

The mood in the living room dropped as the two children went to their rooms.

“Let me check your pulse first.”

Placing Alex’s wrist on the pulse checking pillow, this time the pulse checking was obviously more careful than the previous one.

Alex’s face looked more relaxed than Nydia’s stony face.

“Go ahead, it’s fine, I can take it all.”

“All of your body organs are diseased to varying degrees, to varying degrees, but your heart is fine.”

“Do you think you could cure me if I let you treat my illness?”

That’s a harder question for Nydia.

If she said she could, she might be able to stall for time, but the lie would always be revealed, and it would be easier to anger him then.

It wasn’t nice to give hope and have it shattered.

“There’s no way to fully cure it, but it will prolong your life.” It wasn’t a lie, it would keep Alex alive for at least five years if she let Nydia cure him.

If she didn’t cure it, Alex would probably be alive for just a year or so, provided some weird drugs were ruled out.

“It’s just an extension ah …” he was clearly disgruntled, “An extension of how many years?”

“At least five years.”

“That’s quite a bit of math.”

Nydia didn’t say anything, waiting for Alex to take a stand.

“Five years would make Molly eleven and not see her grow up and get married and have children.”

That statement alerted both Jesse and Nydia, why was Molly mentioned?

“Well, thanks for the hospitality, I’ll be on my way.”

Then he led the way.

Nydia and Jesse stood outside, neither of their faces looking very good, they were totally confused as to what Alex was up to.

“Is this him giving up on the treatment?”

“Not really, he’s just giving up on your treatment.”

“Is he planning to go to extreme ways?”

Thinking about the medication Pippa had taken earlier.

Conventional treatments had only slowed his death, and he wasn’t happy with that, he wanted to live a longer, healthier life.

But that extreme way was risky.

Both men were a little distraught when they got home.

“We need to go talk to Molly.”

Molly’s relationship with Alex was giving them both a bit of a headache.

When they entered the house, Molly smiled at them, “Mommy and Daddy, you’re here, is there something you want to talk to me about?”

“Molly this is knowing daddy mommy wants to see you?”

“Yes, Molly is very smart, just a little bit dumber than her brother.”

Nydia lost her smile and walked over to sit down, “So tell us what we are looking for you to talk about.”

“Definitely to talk about Great Grandpa.”

“Looks like Molly knows it well.”

“Of course, I’m just being wise!” Not forgetting to brag about herself, “I was being nice to Big Grandpa because I could tell he liked me and thought I was cute, so of course I had to act nice to him so that I might be able to leave us alone, but I knew that bad guys can be bad guys, so they definitely don’t have an easy heart, so I was just thinking of giving it a try.”

Otherwise Alex must have meant to trade Jesse for the two kids, but in the end it got them all back and over to the house for a meal.

“What problem?”

“Big Grandpa likes you a lot, which means that he might offer to take you away or let you live with him.”

Molly’s eyes widened in shock, obviously this was a problem she hadn’t thought of, she had thought that by making Big Grandpa happy they could suffer less.

“Mommy, I don’t want to go with him or live with him, I want to be with Mommy and Daddy and my brother!”

She lunged over and hugged Nydia, Jesse reached over and picked her up and sat her on his lap.

“Don’t be afraid, we’ll protect Molly and not let Molly leave us, so when the time comes Molly will have to improvise.”

“Hmmm, got it, just don’t leave you guys.”

After talking to Molly, they talked to Tavish and talked about different things.

“Tavish, did you find out anything from your time with Alex?”
