Chapter 821 – Crisis Lifted, Temporary Safety

Jesse’s words made Alex smile.

The amount of creases on his face when he smiled was a little frightening.

It was clear that he had looked so young six months ago, but it was evident that he was now broken to a certain extent.

“Jesse, why go this far? The two of you and Nydia can be traded for so many lives, I think it’s a good deal don’t you? Your two children, your parents, your clan, your friends.”

“You can’t bear to see your two children only six years old leave this world?”

“Your son is smart isn’t he, he might change the world if he lives.”

Alex’s words had been guiding Nydia, compelling.

It was too much for a mother to bear, Nydia could never watch Molly and Tavish die in front of her, it was a mother’s nature to sacrifice herself to save them.

But what about the two children in her belly?

A time into a dilemma.

Obviously have done protective measures but still pregnant, is another test of God?

Neither Jesse nor Nydia said anything.

“I’ll give you a minute to think about it, don’t blame me if you haven’t made a decision when the minute is up.”

Standing outside the door Jesse and Nydia were completely separated from the house.

Molly and Tavish could only look out the window but couldn’t see.

“Brother, is something going to happen to Mommy and Daddy?” Molly’s voice had a sob in it and she was scared.

“It won’t.”

“Really? Brother won’t lie to me, I believe brother!”

In Molly’s world, since she was a little girl, her brother had never lied to her, he had always protected her, and she felt that this time would be the same.

Time passed by minute by minute, one minute very fast, it looked like there were only ten seconds left.

However, right at this moment, something seemed to have happened on Alex’s side, the signal was unstable all of a sudden, it got stuck twice and then just went black.

The man in the suit holding the tablet was also puzzled, what happened?

They went back into the bedroom and closed the door, all four of them lying on the bed together.

“Things are settled for now, so get some rest and get in shape.”

“What’s going on now? Why is Alex suddenly …”

“His underground base was found, the network was affected, they had to move, I guess in a short time, they don’t have time to deal with us.”

Nydia was surprised and happy, “Finally!”

“Yeah, so we’ll be safe for a while to come.”

“Won’t Alex go completely crazy? With his paranoid nature, he might end up with us.”

Jesse shook his head, “According to his personality he’ll probably die with us regardless, but he has his men, those under his hand didn’t work hard and put in all these years just for a moment of pleasure, they want to have a future, they want to create an empire, where would they let him fool around like that.”

“And this time his fooling around has already caused very bad consequences, it’s all the more reason why he won’t be allowed to fool around.”

His explanation finally put Nydia at ease.

“Well, rest in peace for now, it’s important that you’re in good shape.”

“Uh-huh.”

Nydia closed her eyes as Jesse played soothing music for her and had her take the medicine in her mouth again, the surprise of what had just happened was taking a toll on a pregnant woman and had to be stabilized.

After all, no one with nothing going on could afford such mood swings, let alone a pregnant woman.

“You two stay over here with mommy and rest, daddy will take care of things.”

“Daddy, I want to go with you.” Tavish offered his thoughts, “Molly will be fine here with Mommy.”

Jesse nodded after a moment’s hesitation, “Okay, you come with me and Molly stays.”

A large father and son walked out of the room and they made their way to the den.

“Daddy, about how long is the safe period you were talking about?”

“I don’t think it will be very long, maybe just a month or two, and then it depends on what happens after that.”

At least a month or two was safe.

“Tavish, we might have one of Alex’s guys around, gotta be careful.”

Tavish’s eyes widened in shock, obviously this was beyond him, he was smart but still had a poor grasp of the human heart.

“Who does Daddy suspect?”

“Not sure at the moment, still have to check.”

“Why would Daddy think there would be spies around us?”

The people around them had been following them for a long time, like Jeff, Julia the two who had been working at the villa since before Molly and Tavish were born.

“Alex has been out of the country a lot, why would he know everything about us? It wouldn’t be a problem if he only knew part of it, but he seems to know it in great detail.”

“Daddy, so do you have a suspect? Who do you suspect the most at the moment?”

Tavish thought that Jesse must have a suspect if he would say that.

But instead of saying that, Jesse asked Tavish, “Assuming that we do have such a spy around, who do you think is the most likely?”

The question was too cruel for a child.

Jesse realized the question as soon as he asked it, and he immediately changed his words, “You don’t have to think about that question, did you have something you wanted to tell me when you had to follow me around to take care of things just now?”

Tavish furrowed his little brow, not quite understanding why daddy had suddenly changed his mind again.

“Should we move?” He asked.

“That’s something to think about.”

“Daddy, can you tell me the location of that experimental base? I’d like to check it out.”

Jesse told Tavish after a little thought, and Tavish went off on his own to the small study to look up any useful clues.

When Tavish left, Jesse couldn’t help but have a slight headache, ever since the last time he was in the know he was defined as a vessel by Alex, he was in a bad emotional state and his head hurt a lot.

When he had just asked Tavish who was most likely to be a spy, he had immediately remembered that that was how Alex had trained him in the first place, making him become unable to trust people and feel that anyone could deceive him and betray him.

He doesn’t want Tavish to be the next him.

But this spy had to be caught as well, or else he would have trouble sleeping wherever he moved to.
