Abhimanyu blinked a few times, the hazy remnants of sleep clinging to him like a stubborn shadow.
He frowned, feeling the weight of grogginess settles in his bones, his mind still half-entangled in sleep.
As he shifted slightly, a warmth pressed against him, drawing his attention downwards.
There lay Aarushi, her head nestled against his chest, hair spilling like a golden waterfall over his shoulder. Her mouth was slightly ajar, a peaceful sigh escaping her lips, and for a moment, he could hardly breathe at the sight.
His heart swelled as he studied her, the way her lashes fluttered gently with each breath, the faint rise and fall of her chest. He chuckled softly, a sound that seemed to break the stillness of the morning.
With a tender touch, he reached up and gently closed her mouth, but it fell open again almost immediately, a small droplet of drool glistening on the corner of her lips.
A smile tugged at his mouth as he wiped it away with the sleeve of his shirt. How could someone be so effortlessly endearing? Abhimanyuâs gaze roamed across her face, his fingers gliding over her cheek, tracing the delicate line of her jaw.
She was everything he didnât think he deservedâpure, good, and radiant in a way that made his heart race.
But as he watched her sleep, another thought crept in, a dark whisper from his past. His fatherâs voice echoed in his mind, heavy with disdain. "Youâre a bad omen, Abhimanyu. Everyone who gets close to you loses everything."
The words slithered through his thoughts like a poison, a fear gripping his heart. What if something happened to her? The mere thought of a life without Aarushi was unbearable.
"Heck ,Itâs not possible to live without you; I didn't even think about a life without you," he murmured, his voice barely a whisper.
He loved herâdeeply, obsessively. She had given him a sense of peace that he had never known, her presence a balm for his troubled soul.
He recalled the strange concoction (Khadha)Â she had started making him before bed when she got to know about his insomnia, something she claimed would help him sleep better . Yet, it was more than just that drink; it was her warmth, her laughter, the way she filled the silence of his life.
Glancing at the clock, he noted it was time for her to wake. She had insisted him to rouse her early today. With a playful heart, he pressed soft kisses across her nose, cheeks, and eyes, savoring the feel of her skin beneath his lips.
Aarushi stirred, her lips curling into a sleepy frown as she felt the gentle wetness of his kisses."Abhi" she murmured, turning her head away, her voice thick with sleep. "Mat karo, sone do na "
"But you have to wake up baby. You said to wake you," he replied, unable to hide the teasing lilt in his voice.
A frustrated sigh escaped her as she buried her face deeper into the crook of his neck. "Five more minutes," she pleaded, her voice muffled against his skin.
He chuckled, the sound rumbling through him. "Fine. Just five more minutes."
He waited, counting down the seconds in his head, relishing the warmth of her body against his. The minutes stretched, and when the five minutes were up, he shook her gently. "Wake up, janna," he urged, his voice low and coaxing.
Aarushi waved her hand dismissively, still half-asleep. "You go. Iâm awake."
With a resigned sigh, Abhimanyu stood up, rolling his shoulders back as he prepared to leave the bed. But before he could fully step away, he scooped her into his arms, eliciting a gasp of surprise from her.
"Hey! Donât, na! Let me sleep!" she protested, nestling her head against his chest.
He smiled, the kind of smile that lit up his entire face, and carried her into the bathroom. He set her down on the counter near the basin, where the bright morning light spilled in through the window, casting a warm glow around them.
Aarushi squinted against the brightness, her eyes still heavy with sleep, and pouted adorably. Abhimanyu couldnât resist; he leaned in and pressed a gentle peck on her pout, feeling a rush of affection course through him.
"Now, letâs get you ready, baby. Otherwise, you will be late for work,"he said, his fingers deftly brushing her hair back and gathering it into a loose ponytail.
She leaned into his touch, a sleepy smile breaking across her face, enjoying his pampering. He is spoiling her alot.
He took her toothbrush, washing it before squeezing a dollop of paste onto the bristles. "Aaa"Â he urged, his tone light and playful.
Aarushiâs eyes sparkled with mischief as she complied, her mouth opening wide, and he slipped the brush in. She held it, brushing her teeth in a daze, while he picked up his own brush, mirroring her actions.
As the two of them brushed side by side, a comfortable silence settled between them, punctuated only by the soft sounds of bristles against teeth and the gentle splashes of water. Aarushi finished rinsing her mouth, and in the midst of his own brushing, Abhimanyu was distracted by her presence.
As he also finished his brushing , he reached for the shaving cream, spreading it across his cheeks.
Just then, Aarushi pecked his lips, and he paused, the sensation sending a jolt of warmth through him.
She giggled, a light sound that danced in the air. "You look funny with that cream all over your face," she teased, her eyes sparkling.
Then, in a swift motion, she took a little shaving cream from his cheek, rubbing it on his nose before darting away. "Come out quickly! I will take a bath first!" she called over her shoulder, her laughter trailing behind her.
With a happy sigh, Abhimanyu watched her scamper away, his heart swelling with affection. In that moment, he was struck by how lucky he was, how deeply he cherished her.
Every day with her felt like a dream, and though shadows of doubt occasionally flickered in his mind, he knew he would do anything to protect herâto keep her safe from the world that had once been so cruel to him.
As he finished shaving, his thoughts lingered on Aarushi. The way she had begun to fill his life with joy and light was nothing short of miraculous. He was obsessed with her, and while that thought once terrified him, it now felt like the most natural thing in the world.
With each moment shared, he realized that love could be a beautiful obsession, one that he would never shy away from.
The chalk squeaked against the blackboard, a familiar sound that echoed through the classroom. I took a step back, surveying the questions I had just written. "Alright, everyone! You can start your test now," I announced. It's a revision test for Monday's exam.
I began to wander around the room, watching my fifth graders settle into their work.
Among the sea of focused faces, one boy caught my eye. His head bobbed up and down as he looked around, seemingly lost in a daydream.
I couldnât help but smile at his sheepish expression as I approached. "Whatâs going on over here? Didnât learn anything?" I raised an eyebrow playfully.
He chuckled nervously, his pencil frozen above his blank paper. "Sorry, teacher...vo meri dadi ki death ho gayi thi to mai padh nahi paya "
"Beta aapki dadi ki death pichle month bhi huyi thi , kuch naya lao ab .Mobe a bit " I said, nudging him gently. "Letâs get that notebook out. Iâll help you out this time." He shuffled to make space, and I settled onto the edge of his desk.
I flipped through his notebook until I found the right chapter, pointing to the questions I had just written. "Okay, letâs go through this together. You can learn it here, and then write it down. No pressure."
"Thanks, teacher!" he replied earnestly, his eyes lighting up as he started to scribble down notes.
I stood up, brushing off my kurti as I resumed my patrol of the classroom. The murmurs of scribbling pens and the faint rustle of paper filled the air. Glancing at the date on the wall, my heart skipped a beat.
Tomorrow marked one month since Abhimanyu and I got married.
A wave of warmth washed over me as I thought of him. The way he cared for me , the way he pampered me and the way he smiled at me always, and how safe I felt in his presence.
Every moment we spent together felt like a precious gift. I was caught between the excitement of confessing my feelings and the fear of what that meant. Did I really love him? It's been a month only. It felt more than mere liking, a deeper connection I had never experienced before.
I sighed, lost in thought, when I decided I needed a boost. Sid! I would call him after school. He always had a way of motivating me, of encouraging me to take risks. If I could just hear him say, "Go for it, Aru" I knew it would give me the courage to finally express what was in my heart.
Just then, a voice broke my reverie. "Maâam, you were mumbling something to yourself and smiling. My mom says people who talk to themselves are fools."
I turned to see a girl sitting at her desk, her eyes wide with curiosity. I shot her a mock glare. "You should focus on your test, Mamaâs girl, otherwise Iâll have to cut your marks," I teased, trying to keep my tone light.
She giggled, unfazed by my threat, and returned to her test. I couldnât help but smile as I walked back to my chair, the weight of my thoughts lifting momentarily.
But as I sat down, Abhimanyuâs face flashed in my mind again. I could picture him in his favorite all time favorite white shirt, that playful smirk dancing on his lips. My heart swelled as I imagined telling him how I felt. I wanted him to know how deeply I also started caring for him, how he brought joy and warmth into my life.
I wanted to spend my life with him, to create memories that would last a lifetime. Every little moment we shared brought me a sense of joy I never knew I could feel.
I took a deep breath, the excitement bubbling within me. I wanted to tell him that he was more than just someone I liked. I loved how he understood me, how he made me feel seen and important. I didn't say anything, but I couldn't ignore the way he looked at me with so much love and so much intensity.
The bell rang, signaling the end of the test, and I snapped back to reality. "Pencils down, everyone!" I called, noticing the varying reactions of my students. Some groaned, while others looked relieved.
"Did you all finish?" I asked, scanning the room. "Great job today"
As I prepared to collect the papers,
"Ma'am, can you help me with this question?" a student asked, breaking my thoughts yet again.
"Sure, just give me a moment," I replied, putting my phone away. I needed to focus on my students.
As I gathered the papers, my mind kept circling back to Abhimanyu. I could picture his smile, his laughter, the way his eyes sparkled when he looked at me. I felt my resolve strengthening with each passing moment.
After sometime ~
The car's engine hummed steadily beneath me, a low purr that seemed to vibrate through my very bones. I leaned back against the plush leather seat, gazing out the window as the city slid by in a blur of colors and movement.
"Uncle take me to the mall, please," I instructed, my voice steady but my heart racing in anticipation. Tomorrow marked one month since Abhimanyu and I had taken a leap into this uncharted territory of our relationship.
A mixture of excitement and anxiety bubbled inside me as I prepared for the day. I tapped Sidâs number, biting my lower lip as the phone rang.
"Yes, Aru?" His voice was warm and inviting, like a cozy blanket on a chilly day.
"What are you doing?" I asked, leaning forward slightly, a smile creeping onto my face.
"Nothing much. Just wrapped up a contract meeting." There was a pause, and I could hear the muffled sounds of a bustling café in the background.
"You go ahead; Iâll join you shortly. I have another call."
"Are you busy?" I pressed, my curiosity piqued.
"No, weâre just heading to grab some food," he replied, the sound of chairs scraping against the floor echoing in the background.
"Sidâ¦" I trailed off, the weight of my thoughts making it hard to find the right words.
"Whatâs on your mind?" he asked, sensing my hesitation.
I chuckled lightly, trying to shake off the nerves. "Actually, tomorrow is our one-month anniversary."
"Ah, yes! I was going to call you; I thought youâd forget." I could almost hear the grin on his face.
"I thought I wanted to tell him that I like him," I confessed, my heart fluttering at the thought of Abhimanyuâs smile.
"Oh, thatâs good! So, whatâs your plan?"Sidâs excitement was palpable through the phone.
I bit my lower lip again, wrestling with my emotions. "But⦠Iâm confused. I feel like I have stronger feelings than just liking him. What if⦠What if I love him? But how can I love him in just one month?"
"People fall in love at first sight all the time,"Â Sid replied, his voice calm and reassuring. "Aru, Take a deep breath and tell me, Do you really love him?"
"Yes, I think," I murmured, my heart pounding.
"Then whatâs the problem?" he asked. "Just confess it to him."
"I donât know, Sid," I said, my voice dropping to a whisper. "Iâm so nervous. I donât know why, but it feels different. Like⦠like Iâm standing on the edge of something huge."
Sid let out a long sigh. "Aru, listen to me. You love him so don't be nervous. Meri dost ho ker apna pyaar ka hizaar bhi nahi ker sakti. Bas ek baar himmat ker le okay ? Confess to him you have a chance to create one of the best moment of your life"
His words wrapped around me like a warm embrace, igniting a flicker of courage in my chest. "Thank you, Sid. Go ahead enjoy your lunch."
"Best of luck! Call me later with the details," he said before ending the call.
I took a deep breath, feeling a surge of determination. I was going to do this. I would tell Abhimanyu how I truly felt.
"Please wait here in the parking lot,"I instructed the driver as we pulled into the mall. My heart raced as I stepped out of the car, the scent of fresh pastries wafting through the air, mixing with the faint smell of perfume from passing shoppers.
As I entered the mall, my senses were overwhelmed by the vibrant atmosphere. Bright lights flickered overhead while laughter echoed around me. I felt a mix of excitement and anxiety; my thoughts drifted back to Abhimanyu.
He had been my husband for a month now, though our journey had begun under less-than-ideal circumstances. It had been a forced marriage for me, but over the weeks, I had come to see him in a new light.
His kindness and care had begun to chip away at the walls I had built around my heart.
I wandered inside a shop, greeted by a cheerful sales associate. "Welcome! How can I help you today?"
"Hi! Iâm looking for a wallet for a man," I said, trying to keep my voice steady.
"Of course! Right this way," the salesgirl replied with a bright smile, leading me to a display case filled with wallets of various designs.
As she showed me a sleek leather wallet, I couldnât help but smile. It was a dream of mine to buy a wallet for my man with my own money.
"What do you think of this?" She held up a classic black wallet, the LV logo gleaming under the store lights.
Its beautiful "How much is it?"
"Forty-eight thousand six hundred rupees, mam" she said, her voice calm as if she were offering me a slice of cake instead of an expensive accessory.
My eyes widened. "Forty-eight thousand? Whatâs so special about it?" I always thought that I would never spend that much money to buy a single thing.
"It's made from premium leather, and it has a lifetime warranty," she explained, her tone matter-of-fact.
"Discount?" I asked, a nervous laugh escaping my lips. Look there is nothing wrong in asking for a discount yrr....it's a right for everyone.
"Thatâs already the discounted price, maâam," she replied, nodding.
I made an "O" face, my stomach flipping. I wanted to buy it; I really liked it. But I needed to check my bank balance first.
I opened my phone, my fingers trembling slightly as I accessed my banking app. I stared at the numbers: 57,836 rupees. Relief washed over me like a tide; at least I could afford this.
"Iâd like to buy it,"I said, a smile breaking across my face. The salesgirl nodded enthusiastically and started packing the wallet.
My gaze drifted, and I suddenly spotted another wallet that held my attention. It was the same one Abhimanyu used, the one I had seen lying on the table at home.
"Wait, how much is that one?" I asked, pointing toward the sleek, designer purse.
"Thatâs a Prada wallet, maâam. Itâs one lakh twenty-six thousand rupees."
I blinked. "One lakh? It's just a wallet" Aise kya paise double karega ye wallet.
The salesgirl smiled understandingly. "Itâs a luxury item, made with exclusive materials. Would you like it gift-wrapped?"
"Yes, please." I nodded, my thoughts swirling. Abhimanyu used such an expensive wallet; would he even like my gift? Would he think it was too cheap in comparison?
But then, a voice in my head reminded me that a gift is about the thought behind it, not the price tag. Iâd give him something from my heart, and that was what mattered.
After a few minutes, I left the store with my purchase carefully wrapped. I stepped outside, the cool breeze brushing against my skin.
As I walked through the mall, a sense of pride filled me, and I felt lighter than I had in weeks. I had taken a step toward expressing my feelings, and it felt empowering.
Tomorrow would be our one-month anniversary, and I would finally let Abhimanyu know what was in my heart. I smiled to myself, the anticipation building inside me like a balloon ready to burst.
With my gift in hand, I headed back to the parking lot. I could already picture the moment when I would confess my feelings.
"Uncle, letâs go home," I said, my voice steady.
As we drove through the busy streets, I glanced out the window, the city lights shimmering like stars against the darkening sky. I will wake up early before him and then I will prepare a cake and surprise him i thought to myself. My heart raced at the thought of Abhimanyuâs reaction. Would he be surprised? Happy?
Aarushi jolted awake, her heart racing. She blinked, the morning light filtering through the curtains like a gentle reminder of the day ahead. Her eyes darted to the clock, and panic surged through her. Oh no, she was late!
"Damn it!"she muttered, scrambling out of bed. She had planned to wake up before Abhimanyu, to surprise him with a cake. She tugged at her messy hair in frustration, glancing around the room.
Where was he? Did he go to the office? But it was Sunday!
Her phone pinged, and she rushed to grab it, her heart pounding in her chest.
The notification was from Abhimanyu: "I already placed your clothes in the bathroom. Quickly freshen up, sweetheart" Confusion mixed with excitement as she read his message. Raising an eyebrow, her lips curled into a smile.
"Sweetheart," she whispered to herself as she darted toward the bathroom, the anticipation bubbling inside her. Upon entering, she spotted the neatly folded clothes waiting for her.
She quickly washed away the remnants of sleep, her mind racing with thoughts of the surprise she wanted to create for him.
After a brisk bath, she emerged from the bathroom, her phone pinging again. "Breakfast is ready, baby. Come downstairs."
Aarushiâs heart fluttered with giddy excitement as she hurried down the stairs. The house was eerily quiet, the usual hustle and bustle absent, but the scent of something delicious wafted in the air.
She entered the dining area, her eyes widening at the sight. The table was set perfectly, adorned with her favorite dishes.
Just as she took it all in, she felt a warm presence behind her.
"Happy one-month anniversary, jaan," Abhimanyu whispered, wrapping his arms around her waist.
Surprise washed over her, and she turned to face him. "Happy one-month marriage anniversary, my dear husband! Somehow, you survived one month with me." She chuckled, a teasing lilt in her voice. "I thought you didn't remember since you didnât mention anything yesterday."
(Aarushi's outfit)
(Abhimanyu's outfit)
Abhimanyu pulled away, his gaze softening. "I wanted to surprise you."
Aarushiâs heart swelled at his words, feeling flattered. "I wanted to surprise you too! I thought Iâd wake up early to make you a cake." Her voice dipped slightly, a shadow of disappointment creeping in.
She hadnât even been able to prepare anything special for him.
With a gentle peck on her lips, Abhimanyu reassured her, "It's completely okay. Just give me a smile; thatâs enough."
Her heart fluttered again, and she couldnât help but beam at him.
Abhimanyu chuckled, "Thatâs like my girl. Now, letâs fill your tummy."
With a constant smile plastered on her face, she felt light and giddy as he pulled out a chair for her. But she insisted, "You sit first!" She tugged out a chair for him, her eyes sparkling with joy.
He complied, settling in with a warm smile. Aarushi took a plate as he served her, and she mirrored his actions, returning the favor. The first bite of the gobhi ke parathe brought a rush of happiness.
"Youâre really a good chef!" she complimented, her enthusiasm evident.
"Iâm glad youâre enjoying it," he replied, taking a bite himself.
They exchanged glances, the air thick with unspoken words. Both felt the nervous excitement of what was coming nextâconfessions waiting to spill out. Abhimanyu had told her he loved her, but today felt different. He wanted to say it properly.
As they finished breakfast, the peaceful silence wrapped around them, tinged with the thrill of what was to come.
"Come with me," Abhimanyu suddenly said, rising from his seat.
Confused but intrigued, Aarushi followed him upstairs. He led her to a room, stopping in front of a door. With a gentle push, he opened it, gesturing for her to enter.
Aarushi stepped inside, her breath catching in her throat. The room was transformed, filled with balloons that swayed gently, each one adorned with picturesâmemories of their first month together.
(Something like this )
She walked further in, her heart racing as she recognized the moments captured so lovingly; her in a saree on their wedding day, their backs hugging on a cozy evening, him in a dinosaur costume, cuddling on the couch, and even a candid shot of her sleeping on his chest.
"This is⦠incredible," she breathed, her eyes glistening with tears of joy.
Abhimanyu stood behind her, his heart swelling with affection as he watched her take it all in.
"You are impossible," she said, turning to face him, her voice trembling with emotion. "You always make me speechless."
He stepped closer, taking her hands in his. "I needed you to see how much this month has meant to me. I want you to know how deeply I love you."
Taking a deep breath, he looked into her eyes, his voice steady yet filled with emotion. "The first time I saw you at my cousin's wedding, dancing with such grace and joy, I felt a peace and bright hope seep into my life. My existence had been filled with shadows, but you brought light."
"I never thought I could love anyone, but you made me believe in everything. For me, love is you. You're everything, Aarushi. You're the air I breathe, the sun that warms me, the moon that guides me through the darkest nights. You are my universe"
"You're the only thought that occupies my mind, the only dream I chase. Youâre the reason I wake up and the reason I go to sleep peacefully"His voice grew more intense, a raw, almost desperate plea.
"Youâre the only one. I canât imagine a life, a single moment, without you in it. For me you are the only woman I have ever, and will ever love. This love, this⦠madness, it's a part of me now. Thatâs why I rushed into this marriage, even if it was complicated. I love you so much that I canât think of anything else. Youâre always on my mind, providing solace and peace."
His words hung in the air, rich and heartfelt. Aarushi felt tears pooling in her eyes, overwhelmed by the depth of his feelings.
She took a deep breath, her own emotions swirling within her. " I never wanted this marriage at first, but now I canât help but feel lucky to have you in my life. Youâre adorable, cute, and lovable. Anyone would fall in love with you, and I donât care what anyone thinksâ you are the best person in the world to me. I always wished for a respectful, adorable, and mature relationship like this.
A moment of silence enveloped them, charged with emotion. Then, she whispered, "I love you too."
Abhimanyu froze, his heart skipping a beat before racing into overdrive. Tears sprang to his eyes, a mix of disbelief and joy washing over him. He had dreamed of this momentâthe moment the woman he adored would reciprocate his feelings.
"Sacchi ....ab piche nahi hat sakti aap" he asked, his voice cracking slightly, tears streaming down his cheeks.
Aarushi nodded, her own eyes glistening."Ab piche hatna bhi kon chahta hai"
"Thank you so much ,baby . I love you a lot" he murmured, pulling her into a tight embrace, burying his face in the crook of her neck.
"I love you too," she whispered back, feeling the warmth of his body against hers, calming and steadying.
He held her as if she were a lifeline, and she rubbed his back soothingly, feeling his sobs against her
A sob escaped Abhimanyu's mouth as he wasn't able to control himself from crying.....he was crying for the first after eighteen years , but today is something different because now he is crying in happiness not in pain. Finally she also loves him , he felt so lucky today.
"Shh, calm down, Abhi," she cooed, trying to lighten the mood. " Stop crying, We donât want to spend our day crying."
With a gentle pull, Abhimanyu released her from the hug, his red eyes shining. She reached up, wiping the tears from his face with tender fingers, then cupped his cheeks, leaning in to kiss his eyelids softly.
"You know , You look tough, but youâre a softie inside." she said softly, her gaze steady on him.
He chuckled lightly, a smile creeping onto his face as he moved closer, their bodies aligning. His hands found her waist, pulling her toward him, and she rested her palms against his chest.
The kiss that followed was electricâan unspoken declaration of love filled with passion and longing. Their lips moved together, slow at first, then deepening, each savoring the taste of the other, the world around them fading away.
When they broke apart, both were breathless, foreheads touching as Abhimanyu whispered, "I love you."
Aarushi smiled softly, "I love you too."
"Letâs cut the cake"Â he said, pulling away with a grin. Aarushi nodded eagerly, stepping toward the table where the cake awaited. They cut the cake together, feeding each other bites, laughter filling the room.
Abhimanyu took a small bite, but Aarushi, in her excitement, took a big piece, stuffing her mouth full.
"Itâs so tasty! Iâll put it in the fridge and eat it tomorrow; itâll taste even better than," she declared, her eyes sparkling with mischief.
"We can have another one tomorrow. Eat this one today!" he countered, but she shook her head vigorously.
"No! Cake tastes best the next day!"
"Okay, as you say," Abhimanyu relented, grinning at her enthusiasm.
Suddenly, Aarushiâs expression changed. "Wait here! I have something for you!" She spun on her heel, heading toward their room.
"Where are you going?" Abhimanyu called, following her.
"To our room! I have a gift for you!" she replied, her voice bubbling with excitement.
He watched as she dashed into their room, her energy infectious. Once inside, she opened her drawer and fished out a neatly wrapped box, handing it to him with eager anticipation.
"For you," she said, her eyes sparkling.
Abhimanyu accepted the box, curiosity piquing as he unwrapped it. His heart raced when he pulled out a wallet, admiring it.
"Thank you so much jaan " he said, his voice filled with genuine gratitude.
"Do you like it?" Aarushi asked, biting her lip nervously, watching his reaction closely.
"I love it" He stroked the wallet, a soft smile spreading across his face.
"I know your current one is better, but itâs been my dream to buy a wallet for my future husband," she confessed, her voice soft and sincere.
"No wallet is better than this one. Iâll use this from now on; itâs my favorite."
Aarushi grinned, her heart swelling with happiness. "Whereâs your old wallet? Letâs change it now!"
"Itâs near the drawer," he said, still caressing the new wallet as if it were the most precious thing in the world.
As she searched for his old wallet,
Aarushi opened it and gasped in suprise, coming face to face with a small photo of herself nestled inside. It was one she had posted weeks ago on Instagram, her looking away, carefree and smiling.
Abhimanyu felt a hint of a blush creeping onto his cheeks noticing her, giving him teasing looks.
After a minute she handed his new wallet to him after setting whatever he had in his old one.
"Come, I want to show you something else also "he said, his voice light and teasing, when she handed his new wallet to him.
Aarushi crossed her arms, her playful frown deepening. "Whatâs more?" she asked, curiosity laced with skepticism.
With a flourish, he gestured toward their shared closet, the door swinging open to reveal Aarushi's side. She stepped closer, her heart racing as she took in the sight before her: an array of heels, bags, bangles and jewelries that sparkled under the soft glow of the overhead light.
"What"Her voice trailed off, disbelief washing over her.
"I went to buy something, but I was confused about what to get for you, so I purchased them all,"he said, pride evident in his voice.
Her eyes widened as she scanned the lavish collection, the vibrant colors and intricate designs overwhelming her senses. "This looks so expensive! Why would you buy this much?"
Abhimanyu shook his head, his expression sincere. âI earn for my family and Itâs your money, so if I donât spend it on my wife, then whom?"
Aarushi couldnât help but chuckle, the warmth in her chest blossoming. "Still, Abhi, itâs too much."
"It's not and you deserves best,my love"he replied, his tone teasing yet earnest.
She felt a rush of affection, not just for the material gifts that surrounded her, but for the love that radiated from him.
It was his words that cradled her heart, reminding her of the bond they shared, deepened by the one month since their wedding.
He continued rummaging through his side of the wardrobe, and a moment later, he emerged holding a pink dinosaur plush toy, its eyes sparkling with charm. "One more things ,You said Pillu was lonely on the couch, so I bought his companion. He wonât be bored now."
Aarushiâs excitement bubbled over as she snatched the plush from his hands, hugging it tightly against her chest. "Oh my, Abhi! Itâs so cute!" Laughter escaped her lips, filling the room with a bright, infectious joy. "Thatâs so sweet of you."
"Now," he said, a glint of mischief in his eyes, "weâll spend our day together. Letâs go somewhere. You choose."
The invitation hung in the air like a promise, igniting a spark of anticipation within her. She felt the warmth of his love wrap around her like a cozy blanket, and without thinking, she threw her arms around him again, squeezing him tightly. "Okay! Letâs go...."
They moved together, side by side, as they stepped out of the bedroom and into the world outside, the day stretching ahead of them like a canvas waiting to be painted with memories.
As they walked hand in hand, a comfortable silence settled between them, punctuated only by the soft sounds of their footsteps .
