Duan Yanhao said seriously, “But I care. I care, so I want to give you even better.”

His Yaoyao had been hurt emotionally before. He finally managed to heal and comfort her wounds, so he naturally had to protect her carefully and treasure her. He would not miss out anything that he should have to give to her. Even if they were things she did not need, he would still give them to her.

He wanted to make her feel happy.

Bai Yaoyao leaned into Duan Yanhao’s embrace and listened to the sound of his sturdy heartbeat. She breathed in his strong, musky scent and liked it as well.

This familiar scent kept her company for very long. It also helped her to walk out of the shadows of her past bit by bit.

As if she thought of something, she looked up and stared at Duan Yanhao’s face as she asked, “Why do I only need to care about your Grandfather and Sixth Aunt but not the rest? Does that mean they don’t treat you well? Or does it mean they harbor ill intentions towards you?”

“Those people only exist to serve their own interests and will resort to unscrupulous means to achieve their goals. My parents’ demise is definitely linked to them as well. It’s just that I haven’t gotten evidence of what they did.”

Bai Yaoyao’s heart shuddered. “They are all biological siblings. How can they bear to do such a thing?”

“What else can they not do for power?”

“Duan Yanhao, if possible, let’s not interact with them. Although I’m not afraid of them, I don’t want them to affect your mood when you see them.”
